Taba How to use the bus from Taba to Sharn el Sheikh
Posted: Sat January 20, 2007 10:02 PM UTC
Can anyone help me with the following problem? We prepairing a trip for july for the family; 2 weeks Israel and 1 week Egypt. The last days Israel we spend in Eilat, we will cross the border at Taba. From Taba we want to travel to Sharm el Sheikh. It seems not so easy. Can anyone help? Where can I find a timetable, what problems can we expect. Does anyone know cheap places to stay in Sharm el Sheikh. We want 2 spend 2 days over there then we want to travel to do a short Nile trip and our final destination to fly back to Amsterdam is Cairo. I would appreciate your help.

Taba Visa requirements
Posted: Mon July 24, 2006 07:16 AM UTC
Hi

we are to be visiting Taba in September and I've already got some very good advice from people on the site on what to do out there.

I know we don't need a visa for the Taba area, but if we want to veture south to <Damn forgot the names of the places! One was norweiba or something like that!> would we need a visa?

My original thoughts were that we didn't need a visa for the whole of the region, but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks
Andy

Taba Shopping in Taba
Posted: Mon July 17, 2006 09:39 PM UTC
Hi

I, my girlfriend and our 3 year old daughter are travelling to Taba in September. I would like to try Scuba Diving, but I don't know whether to buy the gear here (UK) or when I get there. What are the prices like in the shops out there?

I am also looking to get a new camera, again, would it pay to get it over there or here?

I don't really have any idea about the area. Am I right in thinking there's more to do in Dahab? There certainly seems to be more reviews of things in Dahab on this site.

Thanks in advance

Taba Taba Heights Marriott & Petra trip
Posted: Tue July 11, 2006 01:50 PM UTC
Thinking of going to Taba in September and staying at the Marriott (or any that I can find a good deal).

1. Is the Marriott a good choice ??

2. We plan to go to Petra whilst there. Any idea about the options (and cost) open to us getting there? I dont fancy sitting on a coach with a load of sweaty tourists for 4 hours, but equally, it may not be feasible (or safe) to make our own way there, whether that be by private guide, taxi, hire car etc etc

Thanks

Taba flight to cairo
Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 12:55 PM UTC
i am interested to go to el cairo. my 8 yeard old girl wants to see the museum and the pyramids. I understand that arranged trips are quite expensive. We will be staying at the Nelson Village and I am new to the area. Do you know any small tour operators that arrange this kind of trip? And also, do you know any shops where we can purchase water from. we are just half board. Many thanks.

Taba Family travel in Taba (Egypt), Eilat (Israel) and Aqaba & Petra (Jordan)
Posted: Sat December 3, 2005 04:14 PM UTC
I am holidaying in Taba, Egypt, with my girlfriend and her 7 year old daughter at Christmas, arriving in Taba on 16 December, returning home on 29 December. We would like to do more than stay at the hotel and laze around. We're interested in visiting Eilat, Petra and/or Aqaba. Given the short time available what would be a good itinerary taking in some or all of these cities?

Is it cheap and easy to travel between these places?

Can we purchase visas at the borders as we travel?

Is it easy to find cheap accommodation/hostels on arrival in these cities or should we book in advance?

All tips gratefully received.

Taba The Holiday Inn Resort tips
Posted: Sun October 16, 2005 10:46 PM UTC

I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Resort Hotel, Taba for 1 week in Nov 05. There seems to be very little information on the net about this hotel. I don't normally stay in large hotels, but I got such a fantastic deal I couldn't turn it down. Could anybody out there give me some info. Hope to see some of the surrounding area and do lots of snorkelling and photography etc. Any useful tips would be much appreciated. Also, are jeans ok to wear in these hotels, in the restaurants etc.

Posted: Mon August 15, 2005 02:31 PM UTC
Hi Everyone,

My friend and I are looking to visit Taba in November. We were hoping do some diving; see the pyramids and also do Nile cruises for a day. How accessible are these excursions/tours from Taba? Any recommendations?

Cheers
