Hi, I am looking at travelling from Stockholm to Gothenburg, I am travelling alone and havent had much luck finding cheap single rooms in Gothenburg (I dont want to stay in a dorm) Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel or private accommodation in Gothenburg? Single travellers are always penalized for not having a travel partner! many thanks:-)

Posted: Wed December 6, 2006 03:19 PM UTC
Hi all, I am in search of snow to photograph and have planned a short break to Stockholm in February, but now I am thinking to extend it and spend a couple of days in Gothenburg, Is it highly likely that Gothenburg will be covered in snow early February? Which is prettier in the winter?
Thanx :-))

Göteborg New Years Eve advice - please help
Posted: Tue December 5, 2006 03:58 PM UTC
Hi, I am visiting Gothenburg for the first time for the 30th and 31st dec this year with three friends. We are aged 25.

Can you recommend a good club and/or event to go to? We are interested in meeting young swedish people and having a good time dancing and drinking till the early hours. I think Niva sounds fun? Should we buy tickets now?

Many thanks

Göteborg Japanese in Goteborg
Posted: Mon November 6, 2006 05:39 AM UTC
Hey, does anyone know if there are any Japanese living in Goteborg, perhaps a small Japanese community/society/club? I know there are probably more Japanese based in Stockholm, but wondered about Goteborg. I used to live in Tokyo and would love to meet some Japanese people abroad. Cheers! Damon

Hey, does anyone know a good place to buy organic food in goteborg? There is only a minimal selection in the supermarkets, so it would be great to find a specialized store. I wonder if one exists...

Hello to everybody. Please help me. I will come to Goteborg on 22 october and will stay 13 nights there till 4 November. I wanted to book a cheap hotel, but it's extremly expensive here in Sweden. Maybe somebody rent an appartment with one room with own WC and bathroom- not separated with hos family. I want to live alone in that appartment. The price convenient for me arround 30-40 euro per night. Maybe somebody can help me and advise something! And also it's should be close to Customs office of Goteborg (Arendals alle ARX).

Thank you in advance for your help.
Looking forward to see your replys.

Göteborg short-term apartment
Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 08:27 AM UTC
Hi all, I arrived in Gothenburg around a week ago and am really enjoying it, so I have decided to stay for another week or ten days. But, this amount of time in a hotel will get pretty expensive, so I was wondering if anyone knows of an agency or website or something that rents out apartments on a weekly basis. I'm not sure if this system exists here in Sweden or Gothenburg, but any information would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Damon

Göteborg Urgent!! Best area to stay in Goteburg
Posted: Mon August 28, 2006 08:23 PM UTC
Hi, can someone suggest the best area to stay in the city in terms of being near cafes, restaurants, bars and nightlife? Also, does anyone know a good (and reasonably priced) hotel, or even Bed & Breakfast or similar in this area that they can recommend? This is a totally last-minute trip from Copenhagen. I was planning to go directly from Cph to Stockholm, but have been told that I shouldn't miss Goteburg....so I arrive tomorrow (Tuesday, August 29)....so any help would be great!
Thanks a lot in advance!! Damon

Any suggestions on what are the best things to see north of Gothenburg-within 1-2 hours?

Also, how long of a drive is ti to Oslo? Is that a bear of a drive? What about all the way to Bergen??? Is that realistic for a 1-3 day trip?

Göteborg Poor and Homeless :)
Posted: Sat August 19, 2006 11:00 AM UTC
Hi all,

I will be coming to Göteborg for 5 months starting this September as an Exchange Student. I cannot affor the roomes provided for international students by the University because they cost 3600SEK per month so I was wondering whether any of you know someone who wants to rent a room in their apartment/house, ideally in the centre.

I would really appreciate your help since there are only 2 weeks left and it looks like I will be a homeless little girl in Göteborg :)

Göteborg Life in Göteborg!
Posted: Thu August 3, 2006 03:56 PM UTC
Hi! I am moving to Göteborg in September for my company, and will be working there for at least one year. I don't know anyone and have only been for a weekend before. My boyfriend is hoping to move there with me, but he will need to find a job! Neither of us can speak swedish although we are going to start learning straight away (him intensively!)

So... any ideas on intensive swedish courses, and any ideas on interim jobs for him (i.e. is it easy to get bar work etc, even if you don't speak swedish? I've heard it is difficult to find a "proper" job in Göteborg if you don't even have the basics? If he did are there some recruitment companies in Göteborg we could look at?)
What are our best bets to meet people!? (we are both 23) Will it be difficult for me as I don't speak any swedish? I hope not! :)

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer my questions!

Göteborg ATM(s) at Landvetter Airport
Posted: Thu July 27, 2006 12:15 PM UTC
I leave for Gothenburg this evening, arriving at Landvetter at 11.30 tonight and don't have any SEK - I've tried several banks here but they all say it will take a week to order. Where are the ATMs in Landvetter - are there any?? I'll be flying via Copenhagen - don't know if that will effect what part of the airport I'll be in.

I'd really appreciate help on this one. I know taxis taxi credit cards but the place I'm staying doesn't have an ATM and I don't want to be penniless for the next few days!!!
