I'm planning a trip in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out how hard it wold be to travel from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ban Chan, Thailand. It looks like there is a highway (56 or 68) that runs up to the thai boarder at Dan or Ta Kien (which is close to where I want to go). Does anyone know if there is a boarder crossing in this area? Additionally, if anyone has any tips on the best way to travel from Siem Reap to this area I would really appreciate the help.
Can anyone help with where I might buy a ready made baskelball and backboard and hoop on a gooseneck pole, suitable for outdoor use, for installation by a voluntary work party at an orphanage in Khon Khan.
Thanks
Richard
Hai all,
I've postponed my trip to June, but still, I only get few days. I'll arrive in BKK on 4th June in the morning (say, 8 or 9 AM), and leave BKK on 8th also in the morning at around 8. Tight timelime, isnt it? :-D
Now, as Ive narrowed down the choices, which one is d u think the most probable or better option?
A. BKK-Buriram-Phimai-Khorat-Phitsanulok (is there a direct bus from Khorat to Phitsanulok?) for Sukhotai-BKK
B. BKK-Sukhothai/Phitsanulok(by bus)- Buriram (if there's bus)- Phimai-BKK
I can see that Sukhothai will require an overnight stay, as it takes around 7hr from BKK. However, I hope it's possible to visit & explore Phanom Rung & Muang Tham from very early in the morning up to around lunch time before leaving for Phimai.Once at Phimai, it can be visited in the afternoon, then quickly take bus back to Khorat, connecting with bus to BKK.
Im not so sure about it, but maybe if there's bus connecting Buriram & Phitsanulok, i'd be a bit faster instead of going to BKK first.
I have a friend who is getting married at the Chedi in Surin in Feb 2010 and will be travelling out there with my wife and 2 children ( 7 years and 2 1/2 years ) from the UK.
firstly, Can anyone recommend any good places to stay that offer good value and are good for children.
Perhaps there are nearby towns that are in easy travelling distance that may also have some good hotels.
Perhaps a villa anywhere as there will be other people coming out from the UK as this may bring down costs.
I am Sopheak, actually in bangkok. I would like to visit Viangchan (Lao Capital)and i just know the way from BKK to Khon Kaen by bus but from Khon Kaen to Viangchan i am not clear so could you please give me some information how to go to Viangchan from Khon Kaen by bus ?
Thanks in advance and I am looking forward from you
We're planning on going to a friend's wedding in Thailand this
Summer and would appreciate any tips/comments!
My friend's family live in Jangwad Ubonratchathani and when I looked at the
world map, it seemed close to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. I'm not sure whether the nearest airport would be Bangkok or another airport in Laos or Vietnam. Also if we fly to Bangkok, we would like to spend a couple of days there so are there good train links to Jangwad Ubonratchathani?
We live in London, England and so we wish to make it our holiday too and spend a few days travelling in Thailand either before or after the wedding, perhaps for 2 weeks or so.

My girlfriend and I are traveling through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in feb, and are stuck on one leg of our trip. We are trying to get from Vientiane to Siem Reap but we don't have the luxury of time or money. So we are wondering what is the quickest way that isn't too expensive. Bus? Or fly from one border to the other inside Thailand?
Hi all, i traveled to Chang Mai about seven years ago and from Chang Mai we went to a village up north on a river near Laos border. I know this is vague but on the way up we stopped at a elephant that the ride went up to a waterfall.
From there we went to a monkey training camp and a snake demonstration place.
all this was on the way to the Laos border. would someone know where this is?
cheers shane.

Is this market in Thailand or Laos? Laos is continually mentioned when I read about this market as is a visa for Laos... Though Nong Khai is in Thailand... Where exactly is this market? In Thailand or Laos?
I am going to be visiting friends in the Udon Thani area in July. They live in Chiang Phin and I would like to stay as near as possible to be convenient to them. I will be using it as a base for trips out to the are so I will not be saying every night. I'd like to get something with about a 14 day rate that is reasonable.
Is 5 sisters restaurant still open? Last time I was there they said some of the family has a restaurant in Houston, TX.
If you go to that restaurant can you ask the name of the Houston restaurant and email me at KAYCOUCH@AOL.COM.
THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE
I notice this wildlife sanctuary is located in the Nong Khai region. How far is this from Nong Khai and how easy and long would it take to get there by bus?
I'm coming from Vientiane to Nong Khai and am debating whether to stop off for a few days to visit the town. Being the opposite side of the mekong from Vientiane would it be too similar an experience or is there much to do and see. I've seen images of the buddhist sculpture park which looks lovely.
Is it a beautiful town and how far and easy is it to get out into a surrounding village to explore. Basically is it worth stopping off here?
