I notice this wildlife sanctuary is located in the Nong Khai region. How far is this from Nong Khai and how easy and long would it take to get there by bus?

Thanks again.

Nong Khai Visiting Nong Khai
Posted: Thu May 1, 2008 09:56 AM UTC
I'm coming from Vientiane to Nong Khai and am debating whether to stop off for a few days to visit the town. Being the opposite side of the mekong from Vientiane would it be too similar an experience or is there much to do and see. I've seen images of the buddhist sculpture park which looks lovely.
Is it a beautiful town and how far and easy is it to get out into a surrounding village to explore. Basically is it worth stopping off here?

Northeastern Thailand Any recommendations for budget to mid-priced accomodations for Udon Thani?
Posted: Sat March 22, 2008 07:21 AM UTC
I'm seeking a clean place with either Fan or AC and cable TV would also be a plus. Am also seeking accomodations centrally located not too far from the Udon Bus Station or also near the Train Station. Thanks!

Northeastern Thailand Getting to Udon Thani Airport from Khon Kaen
Posted: Fri August 17, 2007 03:58 AM UTC
What is the best way for a family to get from Khon Kaen to Udon Thani Airport. I'd like the least amount of hassle and the most direct way. I see that KK doesn't have taxis, but that would probably be the best way to go if they did. Also some idea of how much it might cost. Thanks very much.

Northeastern Thailand Best way to get to Udon Thani/Issan from Chiang Mai...??
Posted: Sun July 8, 2007 05:45 AM UTC
Howdy...

I'm thinking of a Nov. Thailand trip in which I'd fly from BKK to Chiang Mai..then to Issan (maybe Udon Thani)...then to Phuket...

Can anyone suggest the best way to get from Chiang Mai to Udon Thani..or have a suggestion for a different trip itinerary that would make more sense?

Here's the tentative:
Nov. 9-14th (Bangkok)
Nov. 15-17th (Chiang Mai)
Nov. 18-20) (Udon Thani/Issan)..have just never been to Issan
Nov. 21-24 (Phuket)...I guess I'd have to fly to BKK first?
Nov. 25 -26..Bangkok and fly back to USA

I guess Im not sure which airlines fly where or if it's worth it to change the order of visiting here, etc..

Opinions?

Thanks...
