Bohol tourguide for non-pinoy guests Posted: Tue June 9, 2009 03:49 PM UTC
hello everyone, i will be going to Bohol again this October with 3 american friends. any driver-tourguide recommendations? we want to do the regular countryside tour, seatour, and EAT Danao. we want someone spontaneous and very thorough, who initiates to share travel infos and pointers and trivias and doesn't merely give passive replies to questions (our tourguide last year was friendly and accommodating, but sadly despite his above average service rates, he's really more of a driver than a "guide" and that posed some disappointment). Also if anyone has tried a tourguide who conducted the tour in english, kahit mga 80% lang hehehe, for your non-pinoy guests? i feel we will enjoy better if the guide can deliver the spiels in english rather than me needing to translate everything (again, like what happened last year...)
thanks in advance...

re : alona and dumluan Posted: Tue June 2, 2009 04:52 PM UTC
How far is Dumluan resort from Isis bungalows in alona beach? Has anyone heard or stayed in Hayahay resort? This resort is a few meters away from Isis. The rooms look nice on their website. If anyone out there knows more about this resort pls give me feedback. I am trying to make up my mind between hayahay and lost Horizon and Isis. The rooms in Isis look too bright and too white. If i stay 2 nights in Alona beach and 2 nights in dumluan, i want to know how far apart they are from each other.Pls post feedback. Thanks!

negative feedbacks about ALONA BEACH... Posted: Tue May 5, 2009 11:27 AM UTC
Hi all. I've been reading negative feedbacks about alona beach...And i'm planning to bring my whole family (group of 6) there next week. It's our first time in Bohol. But upon reading alona beach which was said to be "not well maintained" and "its far better in the shores of BBC", i start to get a bit worried...Please give me some more details about alona beach...any info will be a big help.
btw, i am planning to book an accomodation at Alona Pyramid Resort because they offer family rooms for 5-6k...any feedback about pyramid?

More Family-Friendly or Kid-Friendly, Boracay or Bohol? Posted: Wed April 29, 2009 10:36 AM UTC
My husband and I want to take our little bossing (our 4-year-old son) on his first more-than-a-day-trip beach vacation. I'm having a hard time deciding between Bohol and Boracay. For those who have taken their kids to either location, what would you say are the best that these places have to offer in terms of the kids' enjoyment?
Also please recommend a good hotel/resort (in either Boracay or Bohol), preferably with a pool and cable/satellite TV and beach-front. My budget for the room is at most PhP4500 per room per night.
Thanks in advance to those who will be so kind as to reply to this post! Happy summer to all! =)

Alona, Dumaluan or Doljo beach? Help Posted: Mon April 13, 2009 04:27 PM UTC
Hi guys, i'm looking for a decent place to stay with my mom in bohol but I can't decide which resort to pick. My mom doesn't like the sun that much so i'm looking for a resort that has nice rooms/activities but is not too pricey.
I've read that Dumaluan Beach is better than Alona beach because it's not too crowded but am having a hard time looking for resorts other than Bohol Beach Club. Is Dumaluan Beach Resort along Dumaluan Beach or is it located in Alona Beach?
What about Doljo Beach? Has anyone ever been to Doljo beach? How is it different from Alona and Dumaluan? The only place available for research online is Ananyana and it's quite expensive. Would you recommend staying in Ananyana?

Dumaluan Beach vs. Alona Beach Posted: Sun April 5, 2009 09:46 AM UTC
My initial plan was to stay in Alona Beach. (either Alona Tropical, Isis or Lost Horizons). But when I searched the pictures of the beach, I saw a lot of boats parked along the beach. Is it still the same until now? Because if it is, I plan to stay at Dumaluan Beach instead.
If in Dumaluan Beach, what are the available accomodations that has direct access to the beach? The only ones I know are BBC and Dumaluan Beach Resort.

3D2N in Panglao in June??? Posted: Sun April 5, 2009 08:49 AM UTC
My initial plan is to go to Panglao Island (Alona Beach) at June (since off-peak rates starts on June), for 3 days 2 nights. Questions:
1)Will 3 days 2 nights be enough? One day will be for dolphin watching, Loboc river cruise, tarsiers, chocolate hills, churches. Is it okay or there are too many activities in one day? Then another day just to spend time on the beach (early morning and late afternoon). Any activities that I missed?
2)From your past experience, what's the weather like around the 2nd week of June? Is it too rainy? Minimal rain will be no problem, but if it's too much, then I might cancel my trip
3)I heard that the cheapest minimal cost per van is P2000. Is there any limit how many people can ride on that van? Is one person okay? Or they need a minimum of 2 people?
