Puerto Princesa City Entrance Fees / Bus or Jeep Fares / Tricycle Fares.....
Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 04:53 AM UTC
Me and my husband are planning to go to Palawan this October. Our itinerary are as follows:

1. Tour of Puerto Princesa city
2. Underground River Tour
3. Honda Bay Tour

We are on a very tight budget, that's why I would plan our expenses there also. I would like to ask some help for those who already traveled there to give us the possible fees and transportation fares we will pay when we get to Puerto Princesa basing on the itinerary given.

Thanks much.

Hi everyone!

Me and my friend are going to puerto princesa on June 6-9 and we are looking for a beach front resort that is near the town proper of puerto princesa or at least 30 mins away is also fine with us. Can you suggest a nice and affordable beach front resort, except dos palmas?

thank you so much. :-)

Puerto Princesa City 3D/2N itinerary on June 08
Posted: Sat May 17, 2008 02:55 PM UTC
Hi! My bf and I booked a trip to Puerto Princesa on from June 27 (9.35am) to June 29 (4.15pm). This is our first time to go there and would really appreciate inputs, as i am currently planning our itinerary.

What are the places that we must go to and where we must eat? We are both nature lovers and we loooove to eat! But on a tight budget as well... so we're hoping for any referrals for locals who could serve as our guide/transport during our stay there, as tour agencies may cost more...

BTW, our last day is a sunday, and i've read that most establishments are closed on that day. i was initially planning to put in the city tour, but seems waste of time if such would be the case. any alternatives?

help please!!!

Posted: Wed February 6, 2008 02:45 PM UTC
hi guys,

i will be in PP in a couple of weeks time and i was wondering if i had to book a room there in advance or if i can just arrive and they will have a room free for me?

Secondly, what is the nicest beach around PP with the most white sand? I heard Nagtabon is nice, but is it difficult to get to? Are there any other alternative beaches with white sand?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Puerto Princesa City getting around puerto princesa
Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 04:18 PM UTC
Hi! I was just wondering how long travel time is using tricycles to do the DIY tours...

For example, how long is the tricycle ride from the hotel (Asturias) to the wharf for the island hopping?

And for the city tours too, are the places far from each other that the travel time is long if you ride the tricycle?

Thank you!

Puerto Princesa City Travel from PP to Sabang, than to Port Barton in one day
Posted: Wed December 19, 2007 02:27 PM UTC
Hello there,
I will be in PP february 2008. I made a following plan:
-spend a night in Casa Linda inn, and sign in for a organised tour to Sabang Underground river (that would be nicer than a jeepney or a bus, since I am travelling with my wife and 3yr old daughter).- do you know when these tours start?
-when in Sabang try to find someone to take us to Port Barton after the Undreground River tour. - do you think this should be a problem?
Also do you have any contact I could call ot text to book these thigs in advance ?
Also do you know how much these trips cost?
best regards,

Puerto Princesa City Tour Guide in Puerto Princesa
Posted: Mon December 3, 2007 03:47 PM UTC
I will appreciate a recommendation from VT friends for a reliable and friendly tour guide in Puerto Princesa. Should have a van to accommodate 7 people. Guiding on city tour, island hopping, snorkeling, dolphin watching and other activities for 5 nights of stay from December 23 to 27, 2007.

Also, are tour guides available during the Christmas season in PP? Any activities close this time of the year?

Puerto Princesa City Is One Week Too Long to Stay in Puerto Princesa City

Will stay in Puerto Princesa for one week in February 2008. Would you suggest a trip to El Nido because one week is too long to stay in Puerto Princesa? What sort of transport is more convenient between these two places just in case. How many days each should be spent?

Your advice will be a big help!

Puerto Princesa City beachesss
Posted: Tue November 13, 2007 08:14 AM UTC
hi guys

well i booked my ticket from manila to puerto princesa! yay!

Just wondering now about accomodation. My gf and i would really like to stay at a hotel or resort that has a beach front. Is this possible on a budget of just say 2500 peso per night? Reason i ask is because i've been searching for hotels in palawan and all i can find is Dos Palmas and amanpulo, which are both very expensive. Also, is it possible that this hotel be in PP city? Or is this too much to ask.

Also, after reading through this forum, it seems Honda Bay is the place to visit. From what i gather, you hire a boat from the wharf to get there for around 1000 to 1500 peso. I'm just wondering how far Honda Bay really is by boat? How long does it take to get to the islands?

OK last question haha. Are there good beaches in PP city itself? Or are there good beaches near the city?

Thanks for your help guys. Replies would be much appreciated.

Puerto Princesa City anyone wanna join us? :)
Posted: Mon November 12, 2007 07:32 AM UTC
hi there! :) after much planning, we finally have our itinerary all set. :)

we arrive in Puerto Princesa on November 26 and leave November 30 so we were just wondering if there were other people here who will be there during those days who might want to join us on tours and stuff especially since my husband and I will be travelling alone, we could use some company and also, it'd be great to have other people share the expenses with especially for the private van we're planning to hire to go to Sabang for an overnight trip and or the Honda Bay tour. so email me if there's anyone here who might be itnerested. here's our itinerary! :)

1st day: brunch at Kamarikutan Kape at Galeri upon arrival then rent a private van to Sabang then stay in Sabang overnight.

2nd day: take the mangrove tour very early the next morning then take the boat to the Underground River before the crowds come. then walk the Monkey Trail back to Sabang Beach. Lunch at Sabang Beach then catch a van/jeep back to Puerto Princesa. Stop by VietVill for merienda before heading to Banwa Pension House.

3rd day: DIY Honda Bay Island Hopping Tour. Planning to visit Pandan Island for snorkelling, Snake Island for lunch, Starfish Island and possibly Lu-Li Island if there's time but we definitely want to catch the bats take off at Bat Island at sunset. :)

4th day: Dos Palmas Day Tour. dinner at Badjao Seafront.

5th day: going home. :(

it'd be great if we could share the hired van to Sabang or the boat we'll be renting for Honda Bay and the one-way boat ride to the Underground River! :) Just leave me a message! Thanks! :D

Puerto Princesa City Sabang: Mangrove Tour and Monkey Trail
Posted: Tue October 30, 2007 09:45 AM UTC
Hi!

We're staying over at Sabang for a night so that we can try to go to the Mangrove Tour very early the next morning and hike the Monkey Trail to the Underground River.

Is the Monkey Trail safe to hike on our own if there's just two of us? Meaning the trails are safe, we won't get lost or bitten by snakes or anything like that? We don't have to pay for anything to hike that, right?

As for the Mangrove Tour, how much is that and how early do they start giving the tours? Is it worth seeing if we plan to kayak through mangroves in Dos Palmas, too?

What time do the guides start giving tours to the Underground River?

Going to Sabang:
We're planning to take the jeep/bus to Sabang after our flight gets in and brunch in Puerto Princesa but I'm a bit concerned about the stuff I've been hearing about delays and the long travel time. Does anyone know where we can rent a private van that can pick us up from the airport, bring us to Sabang then bring us back to Puerto Princesa the next day? How much will that cost? We also considered going with a tour then staying in Sabang then go back with the tour the next day but the thing is, tours usually leave very early. Are there tours that leave after lunch?

Thanks so much and we would really appreciate any help. :)

Puerto Princesa City DIY Honda Bay Island Hopping
Posted: Tue October 30, 2007 08:08 AM UTC
Hi! My husband and I are going to be in Puerto Princesa at the end of November and we're very excited! :)

I just need a little help finalizing details since we're planning to do everything ourselves.

For the Honda Bay Island Hopping:

- i've been seeing different boat prices ranging from P1000 to P1300, does this include island entrance fees already? what's included in that price? also, is there a maximum number of islands and maximum number of hours for that fee? ...we were planning to go to Pandan Island (for snorkeling), Snake Island (for lunch and lounging), Starfish Island and Lu-Li Island in that order and we want to be in Bat Island by sunset so we can watch the bats fly off. is this feasible?

- if we're planning to buy seafood in the market and have it cooked in Snake Island, how much is the cooking charge? and do they sell rice there or do we have to buy that in the market, too? how much should our budget be for simple grilled fish and rice for 2 people? will they have utensils there and drinks?

- how much for the tricycle ride if we leave our hotel, go to the market, go to the pier then have the tricycle wait for us to get back to the hotel again?

oh and IF by some bizaare turn of events, there's someone out there who might have similar plans, please let me know! maybe we can all go on the trip together and share the boat expense! :D

i'd really appreciate all the help!!! thanks soooo much!!! :D
