Queenstown Sunday Market
Posted: Wed September 30, 2009 08:31 AM UTC
We will be in Queenstown in late Nov. We often enjoy visiting weekend markets whenever they are available.

Is there any Sunday oe weekend market in Queenstown or Arrowtown that is worth exploring? We will be in Queenstown on the last Sat and Sunday of Nov 2009.

We heard there is a nice weekend market in Christchurch at the Art Centre/Cathedral - unfortunately we will not be there on a weekend.

Thanks.

Queenstown Fishing Lake Wakatipu
Posted: Fri September 25, 2009 03:50 AM UTC
Hi,

Will be in Queenstown with family for 5 days in Late Nove 2009. Quite keen to fish at the lake but the fishing tours are really expensive. We will be bring our own fishing rods and equipments. If we get a fishing license, wonder if fishing off the shore of Lake Wakatipu is permitted? and whether anyone has experience catching any fish just fishing from the shore of the lake.

Thanks

Is therer any of these activities that should be avoided?
I thank everyone in advance!

Queenstown Horse riding in Queenstown
Posted: Tue January 20, 2009 12:17 PM UTC
Hi, I will only have one day free in Queenstown, but I have some activities would like to join. I probably will join the Shotover Jet plus one more activity.

Is it worth to join "The Ride Of The Rings" by Dart Stables? Is the scenery of Lord of the Rings in Glenorchy majestic?

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Queenstown Queenstown-Auckland
Posted: Wed December 10, 2008 02:23 AM UTC
Hi-

I'm currently staying in Queenstown and planning to leave just after New Year's for a flight in Auckland on the 15th. Any suggestions on what'd be the best route north to try to take in as much as possible on the way? And what'd be the best means of travel (rail or bus or plane)? We're on a schedule but would love to try to see some real beauty spots. But not miss the flight.

Thanks in advance,

David

Queenstown Queenstown and Southern Traverse event.
Posted: Sat September 13, 2008 03:00 AM UTC
Will be travelling by hire car to Queenstown during November.
Our planned schedule has us arrive in Queenstown during the southern traverse event.
My questions are:-

Will Queenstown be packed out and accomodation hard to find over this weekend.

If we can change our itinery what is some good self catering accomodation around
$NZ90-100 per day.

Thanks.

Queenstown Does anyone know about Queenstown???
Posted: Mon June 16, 2008 02:51 AM UTC
HI,

I live in Australia, and am thinking of getting married in NZ,but have never been. I love the whole European scenery and I think Queenstown looks like that from the photos I've seen.

As, I won't be able to go to Queenstown before I get married, does anyone know what Queenstown looks like at the end of march or start of April??

I've been looking at Stoneridge estate/chapel by the lake, and TRelawn Place, but I'm a bit worried as in some photos, the scenery looks quite brown, and I want green.
Would appreciate any responses. Thank you :)

Queenstown Baggage storage in Queenstown
Posted: Wed March 12, 2008 10:51 PM UTC
Hello,

Me and my boyfriend are travelling around New Zealand in April, and are planning to do the Routeburn Track in the South Island. We want to find out if it is possible to leave some of our baggage in a self storage locker or something in Queenstown, so we don't have to lug all of our stuff over the track, only taking the things we need for three days. Does anyone have any information on any storage facilities, or recommendations for ones they've used? There doesn't seem to be any information about them in the guidebooks.

Thanks

Queenstown Accomodation and activities
Posted: Mon October 29, 2007 02:36 PM UTC
I am a student from Singapore and I'm planning to backpack alone to New Zealand for the entire month of March 2008. I'm thinking about spending most of my time, maybe 14 days, in Queenstown. Will the town be busy then? Do i need to book my activities before hand? I have quite a low budget, just there to take a break, but I have to try the bungy jump.

Any recommendations for sites or affordable activities in Queenstown or any other city?
What other parts of New Zealand should I visit?
As i do not have a driving license, how can i travel and is it convenient?

I am so excited but clueless!
Thank you so very much for your time.

Queenstown Activies & skiiing
Posted: Tue October 9, 2007 07:53 AM UTC
Hi there

We've just started thinking about a holiday to NZ, but I really know nothing about it so I need to do some research, I was wondering if anyone could help on here too though. We're thinking of going in late June/early July, flying from the UK to Singapore, staying for 2-3 nights, then flying onto NZ. I think we'd have to fly to Auckland, then get an internal flight to Queenstown, as if we flew to Christchurch, not sure how we'd get to Queenstown as we won't have a car.

The idea was we'd spend 5 nights doing activities, sightseeing etc, then go up to the mountains and ski for the rest of the time.

Would there be enough to do? Places to see, stay? Can you stay in a hotel in the mountains? I'd like to transfer from a city hotel to the ski hotel if we could.

Any advice much appreciated - I'm excited, but clueless!!!

Hi,

I'm going to be in Queenstown in January and was wondering whether I should book any activities or accommodation beforehand.

Hopefully I'll be in a motor home as we're travelling around NZ and want a bit more flexibility.

If you have any other tips it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Queenstown cost of travel and best times?
Posted: Mon May 7, 2007 04:31 AM UTC
hi my partner and i are travelling to Queenstown july26th to 1st august and are wanting to make it a adventure holiday, but we dont know much about the area. we have researched all the activities but am not sure about the cost of general living and how we can save some money.
we will be snow skiing at the remarkables and coronet peak. My partner is an intermediate-advanced skiier and myself beginner so will these mountains suit at that time of year? or is it better to go to mt hutt or something. we are used to skiing at mt hotham in aus which doesnt always get a lot of snow, but were wondering what type of snowfall we could possibly expect at that time of year.
we appreciate your feedback and look forward to our trip.
thanks alisha and justin

Queenstown Accommodation (monthly)
Posted: Mon March 12, 2007 01:32 AM UTC
Hi there

My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to Q-Town for a couple of months during the ski season. I've been doing a bit of research and hear that it's pretty hard to find accommodation in the town itself during this time and I was wondering if anyone knew of the surrounding areas close by that might be a little easier to find a place to live in, but are still reasonably accessible to Queenstown itself? We're not looking for anything remotely 5-star (quite the opposite) as we'd just be living, working and boarding when we can - nothing major. Is it likely that our only options would be hostel-type places, as we're sort of after something with a little more privacy?

Also if anyone has any good leads on places to stay or agencies that do short term rental (two to three months), that would be great!

Thanks
