Adelaide Moving to Adalaide(places to avoid) please help!!
Posted: Thu March 15, 2007 01:29 PM UTC
Hi,

My family and I are moving to Adalaide after alot of travelling and reasearch.
We are a young family of 4, two children 2 and 3.

We have just arrived back from melbourne, and found this was not the place for us.
We have previously been to Perth (mandurah), which we was unsure about, although is a gorgeous place.
When we first went to oz we went adelaide and have never forgotten our experience, people, etc... this was supberb.

As we have young children its hard to keep going on long flights so could please somebody advise of any place in adalaide we should avoid for any reason, as we will probably only get One more chance to travell before we move and would like to visit the most positive places for our children, eg, schooling, amenities, beaches etc...

Thank you for your time

Adelaide Train to Adelaide from Melbourne
Posted: Mon February 26, 2007 03:53 AM UTC
Bula and warm greetings from Suva! I plan to come to Adelaide for the Australian leg of the IRB International Sevens Rugby Tournament. I plan to fly from Nadi on 05 April 2007, through Brisbane and on to Melbourne by Pacific Blue, spend the night in Melbourne and want to catch a train to Adelaide on Friday. I can see that the Overland is the train that goes that way on Friday and which takes at least 10 hours to Adelaide - I can see that it only goes in the night...does one go to Adelaide in the day? I also see that it only comes back on Sunday...Please don't tell me to travel on saturday because that's when the tournament starts - Does the Ovelander also come Monday as the sevens finishes on Sunday evening and I need to return to Melbourne to catch my return flight to Nadi around 2pm Aust time...I need help on this one please...Ms Vasiti Ritova, SUVA, FIJI ISLANDS

Hi all,

Firstly, thank you for all the intresting bits of information about this visa subclass. I had applied online on the 29th July 2006. I still haven't recieved my VISA, although all documents have been submitted. I have called up several times and got to know that my application has been referred to a supervisor. Please let me know if anyone has faced a similar situation and help me make sense of this. Any information regading this would be extremely helpful and appreciated.

Adelaide this question is to those who have immigrated from India to Australia....
Posted: Thu February 8, 2007 05:57 AM UTC
Hi... my hubby n i are planning to immigrate to Adelaide. We both have decent jobs here in Bangalore, and a decent income. The main idea for us to immigrate is for better incomes and a better lifestyle, but sometimes i fear that we might land up in a foreign country and end up in worse circumstances than in India... So can someone please convince me that it is worth the efforts of starting a new life in a new country!!!!

Adelaide SIR Visa - Do i need to bring my family with me?
Posted: Thu January 25, 2007 07:37 AM UTC
I am also in the process of applying for SIR Visa with SA/Adelaide, but I am quite confused, I don't know if I have to bring my family with me or not...I understand that SIR Visa is not entitled with all the Government Supports, we have to live there on our own, and start a new life without nothing, I now have a feeling of being a stranger...Please I need some good advice on whether to bring my family with me or not....I also need to find locations of Filipino communities in Adelaide, If you know someone please introduce me to him/her. Thanks in advance.

Adelaide possible move to adelaide
Posted: Sun November 12, 2006 09:21 AM UTC
Hi There,

We are currently in the middle of a process of applying for a visa. If we are successful (and we are a long way off recieving yet....) we have been told that we will have to move to Adelaide for 2 years. That's fine by us, but know very little about the area really.
We may be a little premature in finding out about Adelaide, but I really would welcome any comments in relation to schools (I've a 12yr old daughter, probably be 13-14 by the time me move), education system, residential areas that are better than others, places to avoid, work for social workers (my husband), work for me (massage, injury prevention and personal trainer), clubs and activities for my daughter (she's a gymnast and cyclist).

Anything which you guys with the knowledge can add.
Thanks a million in advance.

Adelaide Some advice.
Posted: Sat November 11, 2006 04:26 AM UTC
Hi Evevryone,
Dont' know if this is the right place to ask this question. Pls help if anyone has any views.
We recvd our SIR visa last yr and travelled to adelaide in Dec 2005 to have our passports stamped with the first entry. after that we were given 3yrs to move permamnently or lose visa.I wanted to find out if I can move on with my kids and my husband follows later on. He is the prime applicant but at the moment cannot quit his job and i really wld like to move and get my girls settled. I have heard its possible but dont know from where i can confirm this. The immigration deptt: is too tied up to answer such queries. is there any website that cld help with after recvng visa queries?? Any advice or views wld be of great help.
Thanks.

Adelaide I wonder what is wrong with Adelaide?
Posted: Sun October 29, 2006 10:06 PM UTC
Hey you all,
We are Dutch and we currently live in NZ. Lately we have been considering moving to OZ, several friends of us have moved away in the last year and told us about how happy they are, not all is green of course, but financially things are much better for the highly educated hard worker than in NZ. They all live in Brisbane now and it seems that almost everybody moves there.
We had a look around on the internet and Adelaide looks very attractive, there is a lot to find on immigration and even extra help is offered to come to Adelaide. But...my mind starts asking questions, what is it about the city that makes them put ads on NZ TV and make fancy websites to get people overthere? Is it annoying weather, low payed jobs, scholing for the kids, smog, crime, politics ....whatever???? It can't just be all positive or can it? Some honest opinions would be appreciated, ta from Hamilton NZ. Sophie & Co
