Brisbane short term accommodation
Posted: Wed March 26, 2008 09:40 AM UTC
I will be doing a 6 week training course in Brisbane and need somewhere to stay. I will be by myself. Hotels will cost a fortune for this amount of time. I also checked out Brisbane Cottages but that also is not affordable for one person. Any other ideas, please.

Has anyone been married at the Broadway Chapel in Brisbane's CBD? Any feedback on the experience? My friend is planning to get married there in September and we just want to hear some independent opinions of it all.

Brisbane Modest Hotel Around Eight Mile Plains
Posted: Mon February 18, 2008 03:26 AM UTC
We will need to get a hotel room in or around Eight Mile Plains for 3 nights in September, leading up to my friend's wedding.

Any suggestions for a place that is clean but will not break the bank? Would be ideal if it has decent rooms / units that sleep 3 adults (2 beds in the same room is okay to save a bit of money).

Brisbane Which part of the year?
Posted: Sun February 17, 2008 09:34 AM UTC
Hello everybody! I´m a German student having the possibility to work at Queensland University next year. I just have to choose which part of the year? Do you think it´s nicer to visit Australia from January till June or from July till December? I think about travelling a bit along the east coast, learning surfing and want to play safe that I choose the best time of the year to do that (with a lot of sunny days). :-)

Thanks in advance! Ina

Brisbane Sunshine Coast - to Noosa or not?
Posted: Sat February 16, 2008 11:00 AM UTC
I will be in Brisbane for my friend's wedding in early September and my hubby and I want to go a few days early to visit the Sunshine Coast for 3 nights of luxury.

I have heard rumours of Noosa's beauty ... would you say Noosa is the best spot to visit along the Sunshine Coast?

Any hotel / resort / apartment suggestions? I want to be very comfy and walking distance to restaurants and beach would be excellent.

Happy travels!

Brisbane Drive from Brisbane to Cairns?
Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 08:06 PM UTC
Hi all,

This is our first post.

We're thinking of travelling from Brisbane to Cairns. We were going to travel by car but have had mixed reviews. We understand it's about 1700km so were going to spend a few days doing it but are limited as we want to see other parts of OZ.

Has anyone done this or know if it's a good idea? Should we fly instead? We've heard that the Whitsunday islands are unmissable so we would love to see them....we also want to see the Great Barrier Reef but the get the feeling that we don't have to travel all the way to Cairns to do this.

Thanks in advance

Brisbane Accommodation for 5 Adults in Brisbane CBD
Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 12:19 PM UTC
Hi,

Im going to Brisbane/Surfers for 11 days in Feb. I will be staying 3 nights in Brisbane from Friday to Monday morning. I am looking for some cheaper accommodation for 5 adults, somewhere in the CBD, or nearby.

I was hoping from some self contained apartments around the $200 p/n for the room mark, hopefuly less. Also, it would be good to get somewhere that is close to the night life, as we are hoping to party the weekend away :)

Also, when it comes to car rentals which company would have the best pricing? I would like to pickup the car in Brissy and drop it off at Surfers.

Thanks,
Jack

I am looking to a short visit in Brisbane, 2 nights, arriving in the morning on a Thursday about 9 am, and departing on Saturday at 8 am. During that time, what are some good ways to spend my time doing the typical tourist stuff. Do you have any itinerary suggestions, or how I can logistically plan my two days? Thank you.

Brisbane Wedding in Brisbane - Ceremony and Reception Venues?
Posted: Thu December 13, 2007 02:00 AM UTC
Hi!

My friend in Brisbane is getting married in September and is starting the big search for the perfect venue for the ceremony and reception (can be 2 different places). They are inviting about 100 people and want a sit down dinner for the reception, with space for a small band and dance floor. They want the ceremony to be in a church/chapel and they want to bring their own pastor.

Any personal suggestions for a beautiful venue for their special day? Their food budget would be approx $70-90 per head for the reception.

Cheers,
Daniele :)

Brisbane Family temporary accommodation in Brisbane
Posted: Fri November 2, 2007 05:30 PM UTC
Hello, we are planning to arrive in Brisbane early next December, I am looking for a temporary shelter for my family of 4 members (two adults and two children between 7 and 8 years old), while succeed in school, home, etc., etc. . , I got these sites with very different prices on the internet and I would like to know if anyone here can give me information on these or any similar accommodations with an appropriate location, perhaps near the CBD, which will enable us to make all paperwork associated with the redeployment in a new city, the properties are called: Balhouse Apartments and Bonapartes Serviced Apartments, Thanks

Brisbane Family mobilisation
Posted: Sat October 27, 2007 05:59 AM UTC
Hi folks,

I'm planning a trip for the entire family to Brisbane in Feb.

We are looking at 6 adults, 2 kids and 1 infant.

And we hope to cover the following in 2 weeks:

Farm stay
Fraser Island
Winery
Gold coast 3 worlds + Sanctuaries
Sunshine coast
Moreton Bay
Pelican Park
Stradbroke Island

First question is, is there any apartments with centralised location recommended for 8 pax based on the above?

And we plan to self drive, any car rentals recommended?

Is there any places I've miss out?

Thanks.

Brisbane Suggestions for things to do in Brisbane
Posted: Wed October 17, 2007 03:18 AM UTC
Hi, there, planning a 2 weeks trip with a bunch of friends to Brisbane/Gold coast in Jun/Jul 08, and thought of renting a car. Anyone has any suggestions for the itinerary? I'd prefer more road trips and natural sceneries stuff than those historical places and theme parks. I heard the weather's cold during that time of the year.

Brisbane Diving

Hello,

A few friends and I will be visiting Brisbane in January and we are interested in going diving. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on some good places to go - specifically for a day trip - or even just a good dive shop to contact.

Thanks!

I am 27 and single. I am moving to Brisbane next year, and want to move to a fun part of town with bars etc, but that is also a prime location. After doing some researh, West End and Fortitude Valley look like good options. Are these good, and if not, what are some good areas?
