how do you get to keppel island??? boat or plane??? or can you get there by both??

I am a 21 year old looking for a change in lifestyle and for more opportunities in life. I am interested in working in Great Keppel Island, Fraser Island, Hamilton Island etc. in the hospitality or administration industries. My Contiki trip is ending at the Great Keppel Island on Oct 27th where they take us back to the mainland. The problem is I have to be back in Sydney to my hotel that day as well.....looks like I might have to cancel a day or two at the hotel just so I can get back to the Sydney airport in time

Where can I get a flight that will take me back to Sydney? Hopefully it will be close to the mainland.......unfortunately, the Contiki brochure is not very clear where exactly on the mainland we get dropped off at. Also, it's very hard to get any help from the people at Contiki regarding this :(
