Melbourne Is it possible to get from melbourne airport to melbourne CBD without an infant car seat?
Posted: Sun March 16, 2008 01:59 AM UTC
Hi there :)

We will be in Melbourne in May. We are travelling with an infant. We don't want to hire a car. Just wondering if it's possible for us to travel around Melbourne without having to hire an infant car seat? Can we just hop onto a bus to get around? Also is there a direct transfer or some way of getting from the airport to our Hotel in Melbourne without needing an infant car seat? Is there a bus that might possibly take us there directly?

Hope someone can help :o/

Thanks :)

Melbourne Good Italian Eatery
Posted: Wed March 5, 2008 08:16 AM UTC
Will be visiting Melbourne at the end of March, and we are looking for a good quality Italian resturant who does Authentic Italian, preferrably Northern Italian. We have heard that Carlton is the place to go, but have also heard that there is a lot of Cafes that all follow the same thing.

Many Thanks

Now my inquiry is if I do need to get an Australian visa anyhow?
Please reply also considereing the option in case if there will be the shift from one plane to another in the Melbourne Airport.

Thank you very much.

Melbourne winery tours
Posted: Fri February 15, 2008 10:22 PM UTC
Can anyone recommend a good winery day tour from Melbourne. Preferably with some variety of wineries and lunch included. What prices and is it value for money? We are trying to get around with not hiring a car, and winery tours mean that we can sample the product without worrying about needing to drive afterwards.
Do they just do the Yarra valley, or are there alternatives?

Melbourne Recruiting partner in crime!
Posted: Wed January 16, 2008 02:31 AM UTC
Hello!
I've been in Melbourne for almost a month and i love it. There's so much to do but sometimes it's not so fun doing things by yourself. I've met wonderfull ppl here and have friends but they're all married couples! Nothing wrong with that but would like to meet single fellow travelers or locals who would like to explore the city or show me stuff that's not in a guide book. Movies in the botanical gardens, roof top movies, victoria market on wednesday nights, finding those hidden bars, yummy food, st kilda on sundays, chocolate pizza in carlton, or just going out for pint of beer or a glass of wine. Im also a musci freak so going out to a concert, show, or checking a dj set with someone would be cool as well.

cheers!

Melbourne Questions on rental
Posted: Sat January 5, 2008 03:44 AM UTC
I've got a lot of questions hope you can bear with me.

Do most rental apartments have fly screens on the windows?
Is it common to have A/C in the apartments?
None of the ads I've read mention laundry facilities, do rental apartments usually include washer/dryer in the unit?

And, I've heard that flies is a big problem is Melbourne. Is it really that bad, even in say downtown areas? Many thanks.

Melbourne Moving to Melbourne for School - distance from St. Kilda's to Melbourne uni?
Posted: Thu January 3, 2008 04:00 AM UTC
Hi everyone,

I am moving to Melbourne in February to attend Melbourne uni for one semester. A few people have said St. Kilda's is a really cool area so I would love to live there but I don't know how long of a commute it would be from there to school (by tram/train) so it would be much appreciated if someone could let me know! :)

Also, I have been looking up share houses on melbourneexchange.com and the gumtree but a lot of the places are looking for roommates now so do you think even if I went to Melbourne just a couple weeks before school was to start, I would be able to find housing there as opposed to organizing it now?

Any tips/advice would be awesome!!

Melbourne Bargaining in Melbourne?
Posted: Thu January 3, 2008 01:34 AM UTC
Hi all

I would be heading for Melbourne next week and am relatively unfamiliar with Melbourne's shopping culture. Can anyone advise me whether does the local practise bargaining? For example, in areas like Queen Victoria Markets or shopping malls, are bargaining allowed? And as a general rule of thumb, how much discount do we try to bargain?

Many thanks in advance!
