Newcastle group 0f 40 lads looking for a place to eat and drink?
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 07:08 PM UTC
Hello we re coming over from Ireland on a weekend to see the Sunderland Villa match on the 15th Dec. We want to keep all the group together. By eating and drinking at the same spot we feel that this can be achieved. The average age is 18. What do you recommend? We were never in Newcastle. Plus we are staying in Jurys Inn right in the heart of the night life. Looking forward to hearing from someone.

Newcastle Wow- that's a dilemma
Posted: Thu August 31, 2006 11:04 PM UTC
Hallo everyone!
I am a greek doctor who has recently been offered contracts for specialisation training in Brussels, Belgium and Newcastle, NSW. This is one hell of a dilemma, as I suppose that we are talking about two completely different things.. I have visited Brussels (it's only a 3-hours flight from home) but won't have the chance to visit Newcastle. So... What could you Novocastrians say to persuade me come there?
By the way, I will be moving with my partner, who is into management-hr-shipping. Would there be any relevant jobs there or should she look for something in Sydney?
Oh and much of my training will be in hospitals throughout the Hunter valley. That would something completely different than just living in Brussels, so I'm worried about how rural hospitals work there and whether that could be an interesting (and not dramatic!) experience..

Thanks in advance

Newcastle beach volleyball
Posted: Fri August 18, 2006 09:41 AM UTC
Hi
I'm from Cape Town, South Africa and will be visiting newcastle next year (not sure when). I'll be workign at Newcastle University for a few months. Anyone about the beach volleyball scene in NEwcastle? The best beaches for volleyball? Is there a formal BV league with different teams, like in Sydney for example? Is there any indoor beach volleyball during winter season?
Many thanks

Newcastle Moving to Newcastle
Posted: Mon August 7, 2006 10:34 AM UTC
I currently live in Melbourne and have decided I need a change from the BIG city. Ive heard Newcastle is quite a nice place to go. I really just want a few more opinions. Im a single 28 year old female so really Im looking for a good night life and good people. Is the nightlife any good? What is the price of houses to share if you live a bit out of the city CBD? Is it a friendly city?

I appreciate any feedback

Newcastle University of Newcastle
Posted: Thu May 18, 2006 11:27 PM UTC
I just got admitted to the University of Newcastle, commencing on February 2007, and I was wondering if i could get some information about the City itself. I have never been to Australia and i just wanna get as much information before i make my decision if I should take the offer or not. What is the city like?.. and is there lots of things to do during free time?? If i do decide to go.. I'll be living there for two years and just the thought of me going to a place where I've never been to..or for that matter.. a place where i dont know anyone is a bit overwhelming. Any advice will be surely appreciated!!! =)

Newcastle our family is moving to the newcastle area - help needed!!!
Posted: Wed November 2, 2005 03:28 PM UTC
Hello! Our family are moving out to the Newcastle area in January. My husband is going to be working in Newcastle, and we are not sure whether to live actually in Newcastle or to live in the surrounding areas - Port Stephens, Tea Gardens Central Coast and Lake Macquarie all look nice!We are happy for the commute to be about an hour by car. We have 2 children aged 5 and 8 and so good primary schools are a major priority for us, and possibly high schools too. We live in a very rural area in England and so we would need to be able to find a nice grassy part of Newcastle if we were to stay in town if possibe!!! Any ideas? Any schools or areas to avoid? Any fantastic schools? Any advice....please!! I have visited Newcastle but that was 17 years ago - before being a parent!

Newcastle Driving Directions
Posted: Mon May 16, 2005 01:42 PM UTC
Hello People!

I'm planning on a road trip from Newcastle to Sydney. Which is the fastest route? Will there be any scenic spots to stopover for a few minutes along the way? How long does it take to drive down to Sydney? Will the weather cause any hindrance to the drive?

Your valuable information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'll be in Newcastle for a week and then I'll be travelling to Sydney. I'm planning to travel to Sydney on the train. Is it possible to place my luggage in the train? Is there any compartment to place luggage or do I have to have it with me all the time?

Newcastle Living in Newcastle, Australia
Posted: Fri February 11, 2005 01:03 PM UTC
Hi there
Me and the family (1 wife, 4 year daughter) are seriously looking to emigrate to Oz this year and think Newcastle would be a great location to settle and bring up our daughter and enjoy the far better climate than we get in Scotland. Can anyone give me pointers as a good place to stay, ideally near the beach and easily commutable to King Street in the centre of town.
Thanks in advance

Newcastle Transport to Airport
Posted: Wed July 28, 2004 07:48 AM UTC
Hi, I am arriving in Newcastle by train (Broadmeadow) and have several hours to get to the airport. I would like some suggestions on the best way to get from one to the other (probably with a wander around somewhere to grab some lunch) without resorting to a taxi. I have absolutley no idea about Newcastle geography.

Newcastle Expat Swedes
Posted: Wed October 29, 2003 08:18 PM UTC
G'day all Newcastlers - I just wonder if anyone knows a Swedish family around Newcastle. I know of someone there who is a bit desperate to let her young children speak Swedish to other children and she hasn't found anyone around there on typical Swedish expat sites...
