Perth Perth In January
Posted: Sun October 25, 2009 03:15 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am planning a holiday to Perth in January with my family (parents & sis). We will be arriving in Perth on the 1st of Jan morning. Would like to find out if shops & malls will be closed on New Year day? How about day tours by local tour operators? Will there be any in service on that day? Any recommended tour operators for consideration? Thanks!

Perth off the tourist path
Posted: Mon October 12, 2009 06:07 PM UTC
Hey!

1. I realised that Cannington Stadium has greyhound racing.
Can someone confirm whether for the Wed free entry is there a race? or is it just free entry to view the stadium?

also, how can I check the timings for the races?
and is there anything else to do nearby?

2. For Hillary Boat harbour, would you recommend the NMDC/AQWA? what's the difference? and what time does the shops close at nite?
as for swimming, is it good and are there toilet facilities nearby?

Thanks.

Hi,

I arrive in Perth early November for 6 nights.

Any recommendations of the area to stay and hotels. I'm after a reasonable night-life and during the day I want to see all main attractions, what are they?

Also any decent guest house that I could just turn up or do I need to book accommodation before I arrive.

Thanks.

Perth 3 days Family Trip in Perth
Posted: Tue October 6, 2009 06:31 AM UTC
Hi, dear,

I have plan a very rushing family trip to Perth on 01/11/2009. I go with my 2 young kids 2 & 5 and of course my beloved hubby ^.^

I don't plan to rent a car, since we are not familiar with the area there and our time there is too short. will reach Perth early in the morning 6.30am, but hotel check in only 1400... I'm wondering where to spend my time...

I wish to visit to Fremantle Harbour, Swan valley, and the most important things to bring my kids to hug the koala and kangaroos... Can we do this in Perth Zoo... before this, i plan to go to Caversham wildlife park, but just go through some of the forum, that the park better go by car. Is there any alternate place to visit?

Help!! need your advise since I only have 2½ days but I'm greedy, I wanted to do so many things there.... tasting wine, taste grapes, hugging koala, eat fish and chip in Fremantle, king park.... no idea how long can i spend on each places ^.^... Thanks buddy....

Perth easy perth backpackers review
Posted: Thu October 1, 2009 05:10 PM UTC
Hey!

Has anyone stayed here before/know anything about it?
http://www.easyperthbackpackers.com.au/
is the location safe? and do you think it would be fine for a simple stay?

I'm not very picky as long as it's not dirty. And would prefer if the location is convenient.

Btw, anyone knows how to get to this place from the airport? Does the shuttle stop here?

Thanks.

Regards,
Lilian

Hi! I read somewhere that we could do berry picking in Nov. Is that right? Where would be some good places/farms to do berry picking in the between Perth and Margaret river.

I was also thinking of visiting the King Trout Hatchery near Pemberton. Is it worth the trip?

Thanks!

Perth perth road trip in december and bushflies
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 05:22 PM UTC
hi all, we are planning a road trip in mid december from perth up to monkey mia, stopping at places like sharksbay, kalbarri, pinaccles in between.. have heard that it can be really hot in dec, would like to know if it is unbearable heat? like 35-40 degrees celcius? the kind that prevents you from doing any sort of sight seeing? will the coastal wind at these areas bring down the temperature? and lastly, is the bushfly situation at these areas unbearable? are there usually swarms of them this time of the year along the coast? and would it be the same down south (margaret river/albany region)? thanks so much in advance

Perth Travelling with elderly and one kid...help!
Posted: Mon September 7, 2009 11:39 AM UTC
Hi! My husband and I would be bringing our parents (both sets) and our 2 yr old son to Perth for a short trip this Nov09. 6 adults and one kid in all ;o

The purpose is to provide my parents-in-law with their first and hopefully good overseas experience :) But due to their age, we are not planning for an ambitious itinerary but yet would like to give them a varied experience instead of just staying in Perth city.

Could someone kindly suggest a possible itinerary for a 5 days trip (excluding flights in and out)? Would it be possible to station ourselves maybe at one or two places like Margaret River and venture out from there?

Any recommendations on accomodation would be greatly appreciated as well :)

Thanks in advance!

Perth Christmas in Perth
Posted: Tue September 1, 2009 07:12 AM UTC
Hello All,

My gf and I are attempting to plan a trip from Singapore to perth during our Christmas Holiday. I would like to stay somewhere near the beach, but don't want to limit ourselves from sight seeing (Especially Vinyards) Any Hotel rec's or non rec's? Is it likely that a lot of places will be closed down during the holiday? Also do you feel that i should rent a car or getting around is easy enough?

Thanks in advance - JT

Perth A 1ST FAMILY TRIP TO PERTH AUSTRALIA ( WITH KIDS )
Posted: Tue July 28, 2009 06:40 PM UTC
I will be touching down in Perth on 7th Sep 2009 @11.15pm with my family. This will be our 1st time visiting Perth. I have booked an accomodation @Observatory Rise Apartment at Scarborough Beach for a period of 6days, and, will be renting a Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan @the airport, once touching down.

My question is :-
1) My car rental from the airport(5 days), at a total cost of A$289.64/-, with an unlimited mileage, is it reasonable?

2) With my accomodation at Scarborough Beach for our entire stay at Perth, any recommendation as to what iternary should we do?? (We would very much like to see the history, Visit a vineyard, strawberry farm & the beach)

3) Is there any ferry cruise that ply along the swan river for a short trip around the CBD city skyline??? And how much is it?

4) With the start of Spring, Kings Park is having the Wildflower's Festival, is it the best time to visit Kings PArk in early Sep???

Please, please, anyone could help me in this.....

From a first timer visitor to your encharting perth...

Hi, I'm planning for my first trip to Perth for 5-7 days in Sept. However, I can't find any accommodation is under US$40/night. As I understand from the forum that transportation system is very good in Perth, think it won't be a big headache if the guest house/motel is not in the down town? Can anybody help?

Perth Can I bring this in?
Posted: Mon June 1, 2009 04:08 AM UTC
I'm flying to Perth in less than a week and I just realised that I might not be able to bring my oatmeal protein over.

I work out very often at the gym and I take oatmeal protein (basically oats with protein powder) for breakfast. I think this would fall under 'dairy products'

I read a few websites including the Australian Customs authority and I'm a bit confused. Can one bring in dairy products in or has anyone tried briging protein powdered drink in? would be grateful. thanks

Perth Biggest Perth Skyscraper

What is the exact name of the largest skyscraper in Perth? The tall silvery one? I somehow remember "Westpac Tower" but I'm not sure any more. The writing at the top reads "St George".
(No, not the BankWest Tower, the other one.)

Thanks for any help...
