Sydney Left Luggage area
Posted: Mon March 3, 2008 07:39 AM UTC
We are arriving in Sydney at the airport on Sunday next 9th March about 7am and will later in the day be joining a cruise ship. We obviously want to see your fine city in the time available but don't want to be dragging our luggage around with us. We appreciate there is a left luggage station at the airport but we're trying to avoid going back to the airport to fetch it. Please can you tell me where we can safely leave our luggage in the city ?

Sydney Seeking for a single room near Macquarie University
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 10:55 AM UTC
Dear friends~

I know this might not be the right place to post this question and ask for your kind help, but my little brother, who is studying as a freshman at MQ in Sydney, is helpless now. He's going to move out of the house with all his roommates where he is staying at the moment, because the landlord has raised the rent fee regardless of the contract, and my brother and his roommates are actually to be swept out of the house by the end of this week. He is in an emergency, and asked for help to me-who is studying as a postgraduate at Peking University-during our chat at MSN. Then I came up with this warm virtual family populated by resourseful and kind-hearted world citizens.

He needs a single room near MQ Uni, preferably in Marsfield, for 145-160 aus dollors per week. No specific requirements about the room. He's not a picky-choosy boy:)

If any of you or your friends know any information of the kind, please do let me know. We'd be highly appreciating your help.

Best wishes,

Sydney Need some advise on travelling in Sydney/Melbourne Mar 3 to Mar 15
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 02:54 AM UTC
Hi

We are visiting Sydney next week!! Mar 3 to Mar 15. We are planning to spend 2-3 days in Sydney, then start driving along Highway 1 to Melbourne, visiting the coastal cities around highway 1 and staying in hotels around the area. (Sydney, Jervis Bay, Huskisson, Tilba Tilba, Gipsy Point, Swan Reach, Melbourne) I know it will be a tight trip in terms of time.. but we will be back soon!

We would love to get some advises from the locals on what are some must dos and must eats.. My bf and I both just turned 30, and decided to see Sydney by ourselves. Our travel consultant recommended a lot of actiivies around Sydney and Melbourne, but not so much along highway 1. Any recommendations you can provide us would be really appreciated.

There are so much to do around Sydney and Melbourne.. (we picked the Opera house, Coat Hanger bridge, Taronga zoo, maybe the Sydney Aquarium and Manly beach for Sydney; Eureka tower and Queen Vic Market so far and need more ideas for Melbourne)

Also, what are some good restaraunts around this area, good food, and not too pricy?

Thank you!!

Sydney Somerset Darling Harbour Question
Posted: Wed February 20, 2008 01:40 AM UTC
Has anyone stayed in Somerset darling harbor before? If so is it easy to cross that road thing I see on the maps and on google Earth? The picture shows a crossing but does that lead all the way to Darling harbor (the main Harbor I mean)?
I'm interested in it because it appears so close to Darling harbor. I hope someone can give me some advice.

Sydney Tour package for a German student
Posted: Tue February 19, 2008 02:34 PM UTC
Hi, I am an 18 years old student from Germany, and I will spend my training time in Sydney from July until September. Before I fly back home Ive got 10/11 days in September where I would like to get to know Australia a little bit. I have been surfing around the internet, but the tour packages I am interested in are just too expensive for a student.
Now I`d like to ask you all for help: Have you got any suggestions that are worth looking after (email-addresses, tour package offerings, bus-tour, flihts and so on)I am really thankful to get the one or other hint. Just surving around makes no sense anymore, because I cannot afford the expensive tours. Thank you in advance for every idea or every hint!
Hello from Germany to Australia

Sydney The Dreaded Hayfever
Posted: Wed February 13, 2008 08:42 PM UTC
Hi,

I'll be visiting Australia this year with my girlfriend who suffers quite badly from hayfever back home (Scotland) during the summer (the 30 minutes of sun we get mid-June).

We will be visiting Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney and would really appreciate any info/advice as to whether she is likely to have any problems, and if so what times of year are most irritating?

I know its a bit of an odd question but information regarding this is hard to come by and I was wondering if anyone who suffers from this in the UK has found it to be more/less of a problem in Australia.

Cheers!!!

Sydney Airlines
Posted: Mon January 28, 2008 06:11 PM UTC
Hi all, we're hoping to visit Sydney in September for a wedding and I'm wondering about who to fly with. Most of the major airlines appear to be around the £800-£900 mark so I'd like to book it based on good service, good legroom etc... Does anyone have any feedback on flights from the UK to Sydney (good or bad)?
Thanks

Sydney Hotels closest to Sydney Opera House and Harbour
Posted: Mon January 28, 2008 06:23 AM UTC
Hi. We will be traveling to Sydney in Oct.08 and will be there for 2nights and 2 full days leaving early on the third day. We have been looking at the 4point Sheraton on Darling Harbor and the Metro on Watson Bay. We were wondering which one would be closest to Sydney Opera House and Harbour as we were thinking of doing either a tour of harbor and opera house or just opera house. Are either of these hotels within walking distance of the Opera House?? If we have to take a bus to get there what would be the cost?

Sydney Internal flights in Australia
Posted: Sat January 12, 2008 07:36 PM UTC
Last year when visiting Australia, we prebooked flights and excursions from the UK but found that we had a lot of time on our hands. For example, an excursion which finished at lunchtime but our prebooked flight wasn't leaving until the following day. this meant paying for an extra nights hotel accommodation and meal instead of continuing our journey.

As last year we are only there for April and our base will be Sydney. So while we are travelling I don't want to have too much time sitting around hotel pools although that can be welcome sometimes. This time we plan to book trips when we arrive so i need any tips on good internal airlines or land carriers and good excursions in and around NSW and Victoria.

Sydney Do you know anything about this location?
Posted: Thu January 10, 2008 02:23 AM UTC
My boyfriend and I have been trying to find a short term rental for our upcoming vacation. It seems most places we are interested in are a minimum lease of six months or else very expensive. I found this place online and the price and location is good for us. I was wondering if any of you have heard of it, know anything about it, if its a good neighborhood, or know of anyone who has stayed there and you have some feedback. Any info would be appreciated.

Sydney Need some info on areas in Sydney?
Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 04:02 AM UTC
If you could pick five locations within Sydney that would be good for my girlfriend and I to rent a flat for a 4-6 week period in Febuary-March. We would like to be in an accessible area, good for strolling, shopping, restaurants, nightlife and hopefully close to the beach or atleast easy to get there by public transit. We will be having friends visiting us often and would like the area to be central. We are both in our 20's and want something trendy and hip.. If you have any websites that we could find a rental please list them. We are looking for a bachelor or one bedroom and are hoping to pay no more than 1600$
