Mactan Island SDR Mactan Apartments.
Posted: Fri March 2, 2007 10:43 PM UTC
Hey, guys.

I first thought of going to Cebu City for a vacation. But now I wonder if Mactan Island would be a nice choice too. I found SDR Mactan Apartments and it seems highly recommended. I don't have the link to the travel site where it got good ratings, but I was impressed by what I saw in the official site when I went there. The prices are very reasonable too. I like having my own kitchen and stuff especially.

Can anyone give me first-hand feedback about SDR and Mactan Island itself? What's there to see, what can you buy for souvenirs and what can you do?

Lapu-Lapu City Trip to Guam US
Posted: Wed November 1, 2006 06:13 AM UTC
Dear Sirs,
My Filipino friend Cornelio P. Paquibot living in Lapu Lapu needs arrangements to visit Guam (US) some time in February 2007 to meet me.
He says his passport is still valid and he needs to get the US visa as well as a Cebu-Manila-Guam round ticket for a date he will specify. We are going to stay at the Ohana Ocean View hotel in Guam whose reservation I will make.
As he is a very busy person, I am helping him by looking for a travel agency near his home.
Please let me know your phone number and address so that he can contact you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Harold E. Ralph

Mactan Island Recommended accomodaton at Mactan Island
Posted: Fri March 24, 2006 06:48 AM UTC
Am in between jobs at the moment and have a week left to go somewhere.
Have set my sights on Cebu Island. However, am undecided about the accomodation. Will be there from 28th March to 1st April so urgently need some recommendations.

1) At the price of around USD 80, which accomodations would be recommended?
Have checked the rates for Maribago Bluewater, Cebu Beach Club, Tambuli Beach Club (East or West wing) and they r okay. Which ones are better?
Is it wort paying the additional price for a stay at Plantation Resort? It looks beautiful. Does anybody have a contact email/tel no. of Mari Cielo resort? Is that near the beach as well?

What I would like is a resort where the beach is just at your doorstep, if not within the resort compound. Something not too big and commercialised. Snorkelling facilities

2) Any recommendations at Cebu City? Should I stay overnight at Cebu City or only make day trips in the city?

2a) Or should I use the city as a base and make day trips to neaby towns? Bohol? What other places?

Am a Catholic as well and would love to see the Catholic heritage of the city.
If possible, does anybody have the contact of a retreat centre where a 1 daY silent retreat can be planned at short notice?

Thank you So much!

Lapu-Lapu City Life in Lapu-Lapu City.
Posted: Tue April 26, 2005 01:26 PM UTC
Hello Folks,
Can anyone tell me what life is like in Lapu-Lapu?
I am interested in all aspects of life there.
Population, crime, weather, entertainment etc.
How crowded is the place?
Does it rain every day in the wet season?
Does it rain all day when it rains?
What are the beaches like?
Is it still possible to get away from the crowds to enjoy the flora and fauna of the area?
Are,(well behaved,)foreigeners welcome as immigrants?
Any comments would be welcome.
Thank you,
John.

Mactan Island Maribago Bluewater Resort - Room category
Posted: Sat January 22, 2005 01:12 AM UTC
Hi VTers,

I'll be visiting Mactan Island and staying at the Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort around February.

My question: can anybody tell me about the difference between the Garden Wing/Beach Wing rooms and the Royal Bungalows?
My travel agency says there is no big difference (except the fact that there is a separate bedroom) between the "normal" rooms and the bungalows, even though the price is almost double.

Any expriences to share?

Many thanks,
Robert

Mactan Island How to get around in Mactan from the Crown Regency Suites
Posted: Thu January 20, 2005 03:41 PM UTC
Hello

My wife, my 3-year daughter and I are booked into the Crown Regency Suites during the Chinese New Year. It does not appear to be a typical resort. Can anybody tell me where the Crown Regency is, and how to get to the nearest beach. Is it possible to walk to the nearest beach and are there shops and restaurants nearby the Crown Regency

Mactan Island Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort
Posted: Sat January 1, 2005 01:26 AM UTC
After reading all the comparisons between Plantation Bay and Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort, can anybody provide me with some up-to-date impressions on the latter?!? So far, opinions vary from 'bad' to 'very good' and it's hard to judge the hotel's quality. Did anyone stay there recently? I'm planning to go there around February...

Thanks a lot,
Robert

We have just booked into the Maribago and I am now worrying that we should have booked into Plantation Bay, does anyone know how good this hotel is. We are used to four/five establishments and hope this is up to standard. Look forward to your comments on this. Thank you.

Mactan Island Cebu
Posted: Tue October 28, 2003 06:55 AM UTC
I have just booked a package to fly into Cebu 5 Nov. - 9 Nov. 2003 inclusively and shall be staying at the Maribago Bluewater Resort. Since this is my first time to visit the Philippines, I've got some questions to ask:

1. Is it advisable to exchange foreign currency at Cebu's airport?
2. What is the tipping rate in Philippines? How much for the bellboy, etc.?
3. What are some must-sees in Cebu? Any available local tour operators for suggestions?
4. Any special souvenirs to bring back home?
5. What types of food can be found in Cebu? What are the typical prices?
6. Where are good snorkelling locations?

Thanks!

Regards,
Vincent
