Sagada sagada 1st timer
Posted: Sun July 6, 2008 04:55 AM UTC
Hi, we're planning to go to sagada this weekend and we don't have an idea of which inn/guesthouse would be most strategic. We want something that's accessible in relation to the sites to visit or something at least close to where the action is. Plus, of course something that is reasonably priced. Suggestions from experienced travellers would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Sagada baguio-sagada-banaue manila route
Posted: Thu June 5, 2008 11:56 AM UTC
Hi, Guys.
Greetings from Mindanao! We are attending a conference in Baguio in October, 2008 and to want to visit Sagada(Sumaguing Cave) and Banaue(bangaan rice terraces) on our way back to Manila.
Please give us (20 pax) some info regarding:
1. bus lines and skeds from baguio to sagada with corresponding fare and travel time;
2. how to proceed from sagada to banaue, bus skeds and fare
3. is the banaue hostel still operational? if not, is there a dorm-type accommodation in banaue you can recommend and please advise re charge/pax/night
4. how to proceed to manila from banaue? bus lines and skeds and fare?
We really need your help regarding the matter as we are simple public sector employees (meaning tight-budget) who long to see these Philippine wonders .
Thank you and more power.

Sagada Sagada tour, help please
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 09:37 AM UTC
Am planning a trip to Sagada for 3pax probably for 3d/2n. We want to experience trekking the rice terraces, go to the small and big falls, do cave connections, and go to other must visit places there.
I need info on the itinerary, fees to be paid for the guide/tour, and the fares in getting and going around there (public transpo will be good). We'll take the Manila-Banue-Bontoc-Sagada route and then Sagada-Baguio-Manila (possibly for a day tour or an overnight stay there)...

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Sagada Commuting from Banaue to Sagada
Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 01:04 PM UTC
Hello people! Just want to ask. Are there other means of commuting from Banaue to Sagada other than jeepneys? I want to travel comfortably because I'm bringing my wife and 4 year old daughter with me. Are there aircon buses or shuttles bound for Sagada from Banaue? Or in case there are private vans available, how much do you think it would cost me?

Sagada Sagada from Nueva Vizcaya
Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 05:50 AM UTC
Hi! I posted a question in the Isabela forum on how to get from there to Sagada, but our plans have changed. We are now leaving from Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya.

I've learned from many helpful posts that it would be better to follow the Vizcaya-Banaue-Bontoc-Sagada route than Vizcaya-Baguio-Sagada. I guess we'll just do the Baguio route on the way home. Any thoughts on this?

And does anyone know which bus to take, how long the trip is, how much the fare is, and what the schedules are if we're coming from Aritao?

Sagada Shuttle vans from Baguio
Posted: Thu April 10, 2008 09:35 AM UTC
I have seen vans from Baguio plying the Halsema, probably to Bontoc and neighboring towns. I presume they are lot faster and more comfortable than the old buses going to Sagada, though you still have to transfer to a Sagada bound jeepney. But are they safe? Has anybody taken this ride? Please comment. Thanks in advance.

Sagada from sagada to ilocos and vice versa
Posted: Sat April 5, 2008 05:15 AM UTC
My friends and I are planning to go to Ilocos... then to Sagada. Is there a direct route from Ilocos to Sagada? How long is the travel time? I'm only familiar with the Ilocos-Baguio-Sagada route and that where you'll pass by Banaue.

Thank you very much.

Sagada first trip up there
Posted: Sat March 15, 2008 09:41 PM UTC
we are a group of four adults and three kids and we plan to go there on holy thurs until saturday. i contacted some inns listed here but unfortunately, they are fully booked. this is the only time of the year that we can have a vacation so we are reeeeealy interested in going (i hope someone from there can help us).
my questions are:

1) are there other places aside from those listed here were we can stay.
if in case we do not get a place there, can you advise banaue as an alternative place (coming from there)? we have a 4x4, so mobility should not be a problem.
2)(wild question :)), is there any camping grounds there?
thank you very much

Sagada Sagada - travel by car, ok for non-fit travellers?
Posted: Fri March 14, 2008 12:11 AM UTC
Hi! Have been scouring the net for Sagada, and found this as the most recent. Help pls? My family is going to Sagada this Holy Week. We're travelling by two 4x4 suvs, originally Manila-Baguio-Sagada-Banawe-Manila route. But because its peakest of the peak, we'd like to avoid Baguio and go via Banawe both ways. Is this adviseable? Roads not too rough? Heard via Baguio there is a smooth hiway, but then traffic will be a nightmare...Approx distance in kms so we can compute fuel expense?
One member of our party is sendentary. Though still in her 30s she virtually has no excercise. Can she make it through the Sagada experience - especially the challenge of the Sumaguing cave?
Grateful for your tips re road trip / in-Sagada must-see places =;) - Many thanks!

Sagada Going to Banaue-Sagada on Dec 25-28
Posted: Tue December 4, 2007 03:14 AM UTC
Hi forummer,

I hope to take a trip: manila-banaue-sagada-baguio this dec 25 to 28. I am driving a toyota innova. I would like to ask a few questions because I am totally new to the route. I am afraid I may not reach my destination because I am not from manila. I am a foreigner.

Route: I hope to take the NLEX and exit sta rita. But there are two split route even though they will still converge. Should I take the cagayan valey road or the halsema highway. I want to reach banaue as early as possible. I will depart from the airport at 9.30am. What time will I reach banaue.

From banaue to sagada. Is the road very bad. I have two options. Leave my vehicle in banaue, take a banaue jeepney to sagada and return to banaue after the trip and from banaue return back to manila and miss the baguio trip.
Or should I just drive my vehicle to sagada and from there to baguio. I also heard that the road from sagada to baguio is bad. please advise?

Sagada Can someone keep us posted on the weather in Sagada? Or is there a way to know....
Posted: Tue November 27, 2007 09:19 AM UTC
Me and my friends have a trip planned for this weekend, Nov 30--dec2, but seeing as there are 3 bagyos coming and a recent earthquake just now, is it still a good idea to go?
We're new to this,so we're worried about landslides, cave flooding and other potential hazards.
Thanks!
