| Dubai | Internet Access in Dubai Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 09:58 PM UTC
Is internet access readily available at residences in Dubai, can we get it like we do here in the states, thru cable companies and other internet providers? I read that it's highly censored but is it readily available and if so is it possible to use web cams to communicate with family at home?
Thanks! |

Hello! I'm leaving for Dubai tomorrow and this will be my first visit. My company is paying for my flight, hotel, food and transportation. I have very little money of my own and I am wondering... If I bring about $35 US, will I be able to pick up a few small souvenirs for myself and some family members?

| Dubai | AKON - Urban Desert Concert Posted: Thu April 10, 2008 12:52 AM UTC
Is anyone going to the Urban Desert - Akon concert on April 18th? I will be in Dubai but don't really want to go if I don't have to but my son wants an AKON T-shirt from the concert if they have them.
I may take a taxi up just to see if I can go in and buy a shirt but I am not sure if they are there or if I will be allowed in. If someone was going and wouldn't mind picking up a T-shirt for me, I would be most grateful and will make arrangements for pick up and reimbursement. |

| Dubai | Eye Hospital in Dubai Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 02:44 AM UTC
Could anyone please advise if you know any good, inexpensive eye hospital in Dubai? I am clueless and know no one there. My brother has been "seeing" light flashes, floaters, spider-web like particles floating... due to his worn out retina (but he's still young!)
The scary thing is that the frequency of seeing them keeps increasing.... I'm terrified to death of the fact that he could lose his vision ... or get blind...:-( He was going to wait until he came back home but from what I've read on internet and asked around, rapid treatment/operation is a must, before the entire retina become detach ... Sorry I'm very nervous, please if you know or someone who knows, kindly advise. Thank you very much & God bless you, |

| Dubai | Want to be 100% sure about my visit visa. Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 08:35 PM UTC
Hi again,
I'm returning to Dubai for a holiday I had back in 2004 but can't remember the details on my visa. I'm a British citizen, coming over for about 8 days mid April. I will be staying with a Russian family there (My girlfriends family, they have just moved in). Will I just be granted a Visit Visa when I arrive at the airport or should I do doing something else? | Dubai | What's the best currency to bring to Dubai? Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 08:26 PM UTC
Hi all,
I came over the Dubai in February 2004 and I remember only using USD. We are now coming back for a week, and I want to check if we should get USD or UAE Dirham? My girlfriends family are moving over, her mother is there now and father is going tomorrow. They seem to think USD is a good currency. Is this true? Thanks Chris |

| Dubai | Breastfeeding in public in Dubai Posted: Mon March 31, 2008 09:32 AM UTC
We are traveling through Dubai in late May and staying over for a few nights in the city. I simply love the place and it was my idea to stopover. However just now I realised that now I'm a breastfeeding mum and UAE is a Moslem country. So I'm wondering how am I going to feed my baby when we go on a bus tour or roam around souqs or just having coffee in a coffee shop.
Any suggestions what can I do? thanks! |
