Altinkum mystery restaurant
Posted: Tue October 17, 2006 12:18 AM UTC
HI
I own an apartment in Didim. In the past 3 years I have visited many restaurants in Altinkum finding most to be of excellent quality.
However, I was reading the English Newspaper printed in Didim recently, and reading the Editorial, the Editor mentiomed she was going to her favourite restaurant that evening, the one she frequents regularly because of its quality.
She did not say where the place was situated and I have searched the length and breadth of Altinkum to find it. If the Editor or anyone else can tell me where it is I would be eternally grateful. Its name is the Enim.

Altinkum Altinkum in December
Posted: Thu October 5, 2006 04:40 PM UTC
Hi!We are planning to go over to Altinkum in December (preferably the first week) to visit some friends. The only thing is we are not sure what will be open as when we went over in August most people indicated that the season finished in October. Just wondering if anyone has been over in December before and could give us some idea of what the nightlife is like - are there many restaurant/bars opne at this time of year? Thanks

Altinkum Where to Stay?
Posted: Tue July 11, 2006 02:36 PM UTC
Hi everyone just joined the forum and wanted to let you know what a lovely time we had on our holiday in Altinkum last week. We arrived during at 12.30am during a major power cut, and after a hair-raising minibus transfer from the airport, to be greeted with a candlelight reception and a couple of very cold beers!!

We stayed at the YAGMUR APART HOTEL and were looked after by Nigel (Nedget) the manager and his lovely wife. The chef Esus (AKA Jesus) and the waiters Urrhan (AKA the Handsome Man) Hussein (AKA Fenabache Man) and the rest of the boys.

Anyone who is thinking of a Bed ‘N’ Breakfast or Self Catering holiday (though you wont do much cooking as the food is so cheap in the restaurants) to Altinkum and wants to find a hotel that 'does what it says on the tin' then the YAGMUR APART HOTEL is the place for you. What it lacks in finesse it more than makes up for in hospitality. The restaurant serves up some lovely traditional Turkish dishes and I highly recommend the Testi Kebab (Lamb meat cooked in a jug andt comes to the table aflame. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are going back in October for another holiday.

Altinkum Garden of sun
Posted: Wed May 17, 2006 02:44 PM UTC
Stayed at the garden of sun last week, only been open 3 weeks. Pleasant rooms all with single bed, double bed and sofa bed, however wardrobe space only suitable for 2 people and only 2 small drawers. Swimming pool fab but not heated. Snack bar by pool serving between 3-5pm, dining room serving buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, my wife's a fussy eater but always managed to fing something to eat. All inclusive drinks only include Vodka, gin and raki soft drinks and local wines and beer. Whisky, brandy and rum are extra (7ytl). Seating in the indoor bar is limited although the pool bar is open 10am til 12pm weather permitting. Altinkum is 15min walk away and local buses every 10 mins or so (1ytl). There is a market on Saturday selling fake designer stuff. We had a great time and the staff are fantastic.

Altinkum Garden of Sun hotel
Posted: Mon May 15, 2006 08:17 PM UTC
Hi there

We have booked to stay in the Garden of Sun hotel in September. We have hired a car and will be driving ourselves from the airport to the hotel. We have been unable to find an email address for the hotel online and would like to ask for directions from Bodrum airport (BJV) to the hotel in Altinkum?

We are also awaiting any reviews on this new hotel.

Altinkum Help! VISA INFORMATION NEEDED!
Posted: Mon April 24, 2006 10:32 PM UTC
We own in Altinkum. We have decided to visit for 10 days in May and then to spend the Summer there from 19th July through to the 13th September. We also plan to stay from 18th Decemeber through to 1st January.

Our problem is our visa. We will be buying a multiple entry 3 month visa for the usual 10 pounds on the 22nd May 2006.

Although we will be returning to the UK on the 7th June 2006, when we go back to Turkey on the 19th July the visa will still be valid and so we cannot get another visa. We will have a problem because the May purhcased visa will expire when we are in Turkey in the Summer.

We do not want any hassle over this. We have tried to contact the Turkish Consulate but all they say is that we can speak to customs on our way in. We do not want to worry about this all Summer and are not sure what to do. Can we obtain a visa for a longer period. If so how do we do this?

Is there a limit oin the ammount of time that we can spend in Turkey in any 12 month period?

Please help.

Altinkum Altinkum on the Forum is situated in the wrong departament
Posted: Mon February 6, 2006 09:53 PM UTC
When I log out and try to log in again I couldnt find Altinkum because Altinkum or other name Didim is located in Aydin departament not in Antalya Departament. Antalya is about 500 km far from Altinkum. So some people who knows right place will not find it. At the beginnig I thought that there is other Altinkum in Antalya but all the persons on the forum were asking questions about the hotels and places here is Altinkum, Didim, Aydin. So maybe someone from administrators could change it:)
