I'm visiting my wife in Bacolod for the month of December and am looking at options for long term stay. Are there houses, apartments, etc. that can be rented for a month? Also if any of you have leads on some nice places to rent, I'd love the heads up!

Bacolod City Going Around - Outside Bacolod / nearby towns
Posted: Sun September 30, 2007 04:31 PM UTC
Hello, Im in Bacolod right now and might be traveling alone (if i dont find company) hopefully in 2 days time im off to places to I want see. I want to go around towns like Talisay, Silay, Victorias. These places i believe have a lot of sites/attractions. Their close proximity from Bacolod is tempting.
Can anyone tell me where can i take a ride, travel time and how much each would cost coming from Bacolod. From Bacolod to Talisay, from Bcd to Silay and frm BCD to Victorias? Other places would be also welcome if you can suggest sites worth seeing. Historical and cultural sites, since im a alone and cant do some beach hopping.
Im willing to travel also far places if there is something really to see there, as long as travel time does not take more than a day. 1-2 hr travel time is fine with me. For this trip i will be traveling on a budget and will be more of a traveler and not a touristy type so i prefer fast paced sightseeing. Take some shots and scan the place then move on to the next destination.Im hoping to pack in as many places as I can each day. Before i head back to Manila.
Hope to get tips and replies.

Bacolod City accomodation help in bacolod during masskara
Posted: Fri September 7, 2007 01:26 AM UTC
i think i will reserve a room in check inn pension. is that a safe good place to stay? what are your rating for this pension? how's their service? are they courteous? what can you say about this place? i think their 650 (single room) is already airconditioned, has hot and cold shower, with cable tv, and close to the event location. i wish that someone could help me out here. if that place is not good enough, maybe any other recommendations? thanks to those who will reply to this.

ps. all of the pensions, resorts, hotels, and inn have no websites and cellphone numbers. only a few have email address for inquiries, and the rest only have landline numbers. why is that?

Bacolod City Bacolod circa 1980's
Posted: Thu January 4, 2007 09:32 PM UTC
Im from Cebu but was able to work on some development projects in Region 6 way back mid 80's with Bacolod City as our base. Our office was in Lacson-Galo area and our staff house was in Eroreco Subd. I spent a good 5 years in Negros-Iloilo-Aklan region.I migrated to Canada now, and visits Philippines at least once a year. But since my vacation time is so short i could only be in Cebu my hometown or Bohol, for the beaches. I have been wishfully thinking of visiting Bacolod,Iloilo and Aklan again. Sort of a reminiscing those memorable times from way back. My last time in Bacolod City was in 1990,and my question is, is there a big change from the old Bacolod City that i knew circa 1980's?
