Bacolod City Bacolod-Silay-Talisay (Negros tour)
Posted: Sat October 10, 2009 08:22 AM UTC
Hello everyone,
I was hoping somebody could help me. My friend and I am going to Bacolod for the first time next month. Our flight is manila-bacolod arriving at 6am and then Iloilo-Manila departing 8:30pm giving us 4 whole days for this trip.

I haven't yet figured out how to divide the days among Bacolod, Iloilo and
Guimaras. I am still reading infos in order to prepare my itinerary. =D

Places of interest in Bacolod/Negros that I've read so far are:

- Kapehang Sang Silay to have some breakfast - from the airport how can we go here?
- ancestral houses and Bernardino Jalandoni museum in Silay - do they have
business hours? i am afraid they won't open until 9am? what and how many
ancestral houses are open to public?
- try out the fresh lumpia/empanada from Emma Lacson for morning snack.
- Talisay Ruins - any other places to go in Talisay?
- Mambukal Resort - maybe try the slide for life or just do some picture taking
:)
- Lakawon -> i haven't read a lot yet but i've read that the sand is comparable
to boracay.
- eat at Manokan Country, Calea's, Bob's
- buy some souvenir magnets and tshirts
- for hotel, maybe go for Check Inn

how can i organize the itinerary so that i could squeeze in all these places in 1.5 days? i am planning to go to Iloilo in the afternoon of Day2.

Another problem i have is the transportation. Do you have some guided tour in
Bacolod/Negros (like what they have in Bohol or Cebu) or is it easy to have a
DIY instead?

Hope you can help me create my itinerary. Thanks so much in advance! :)

Bacolod City Things to do during the day
Posted: Tue October 6, 2009 09:37 AM UTC
I spent a few days in Bacolod last month (September 2009) and will be spending a lot more time there in the coming few years. I am interested in learning how to play golf well, are there any courses near Bacolod. I am also interested in learning a little Eskrima or Arnis, any good dojos around too? Thanx for the help. Be safe all.

Hello!

I'm planning a Bacolod adventure as a birthday gift for my wife and I hope I can get helpful tips from this post. To narrow it down, me and my wife's into beaches and food trip whenever we go out of town. Historical places will be appreciated but we prefer to pig out on authentic chicken inasal and other Bacolod delicacies.

Thanks in advance!

Bacolod City 1st Timer to Bacolod
Posted: Fri April 3, 2009 05:33 AM UTC
Hi i plan on travelling to Philippines with my 3 young children on November to December 09 staying for 6 weeks and would appreciate some info and feedbacks on a few things pls. I planned on taking my boys to Bacolod for a few days from Iloilo. Can someone please give me some feedback on accommodations and activities ie. Caribbean Water Park, Mambukal Resort, Kundutel Hotel, Canonoy Beach Resort etc. How far are these places from Bacolod Port? What's the best for of transport especially when travelling with children. My kids are 13,8 and 1 1/2 years old so safe and convenient transport would be ideal - not too expensive:)What other activities would you suggest that would be fun for my kids & I to do. Thanks in advance.

Bacolod City Which Hotel is Better?
Posted: Wed October 22, 2008 09:04 AM UTC
Hi, I will be in Bacolod Jan 2009 for a wedding but just wondering which hotel is best to stay in terms of quality and accessibility? I got 3 choices:

1. L'FISHER HOTEL *(Reception Venue)
2. BUSINESS INN
3. PLANTA CENTRO BACOLOD HOTEL

The ceremony is at St. Jude at 5pm. Is there any better options aside from the 3 above?

Thanks in advance!

Bacolod City Best Deal Hotels/Inns
Posted: Tue October 14, 2008 06:22 AM UTC
Hi Guys,

I'm planning a weekend getaway soon from the busy urban life of cebu. Since the holiday season is just on our doors by now, I'm conservative in my budget. I'm mostly interested with the historical attraction and a trip to mambukal your province can offer.

Can you recommend a reasonably-priced place to stay? And how much is a private van would cost me to go around silay, victorias, etc. for a day? Or can I still go around these nearby towns in a day by just taking a public transpo instead?

Your opinions are really sought-after. Thanks!

Bacolod City expensive Immunizations for Americans really necessary?
Posted: Tue July 8, 2008 01:56 AM UTC
Hi there!
I'm an American female married to a Filipino, and we are travelling back to Negros with our two small kids in Aug. My question is that I am confused . . . what immunizations do we REALLY need . . . they are SOOOO expensive for the ones that certain websites say you need! Are they really necessary? Please give me some advice!!!! I mean, the county wants to charge like, 250$ a shot for Typhoid and Denguay . . . thats 2000$ just for SHOTS!!!! Are they really necessary?!? Not that I want to be chintzy on our health, but we are not going to be out in the Jungle . . . more Hinigaran, Pontevedra, Isabella area of Negros Occidental.

PLEASE, any advice would be SERIOUSLY APPRECIATED!!!! Thanks! - Sotil

Bacolod City Going Around - Outside Bacolod / nearby towns
Posted: Sun September 30, 2007 05:31 PM UTC
Hello, Im in Bacolod right now and might be traveling alone (if i dont find company) hopefully in 2 days time im off to places to I want see. I want to go around towns like Talisay, Silay, Victorias. These places i believe have a lot of sites/attractions. Their close proximity from Bacolod is tempting.
Can anyone tell me where can i take a ride, travel time and how much each would cost coming from Bacolod. From Bacolod to Talisay, from Bcd to Silay and frm BCD to Victorias? Other places would be also welcome if you can suggest sites worth seeing. Historical and cultural sites, since im a alone and cant do some beach hopping.
Im willing to travel also far places if there is something really to see there, as long as travel time does not take more than a day. 1-2 hr travel time is fine with me. For this trip i will be traveling on a budget and will be more of a traveler and not a touristy type so i prefer fast paced sightseeing. Take some shots and scan the place then move on to the next destination.Im hoping to pack in as many places as I can each day. Before i head back to Manila.
Hope to get tips and replies.
