Hi, i am looking for a furnished holiday house for 19 people (12 adults, 7 children)from about 20/03/2012 to 05/04/2012 in Erzurum, Turkey.
Are there flights from Istanbul to Erzurum?
How do you get from Iran to Erzurum? is it trains to Van and then coach? if yes, how frequent are the coaches (connection between train and coach), and how long by coach from van to erzurum?
4 of us are coming from Australia, and the rest from Iran for a family reunion. we were going to go to Van, but the earthquake happened. we want it to be fairly close to Iran and also have flights to Istanbul. so we are considering Erzurum. is that a good choice? any other suggestions? any help is appreciated.

I am planning to visit the area end of june.
Planning to stay five to seven days in Erzurum.
Hotels I see advertised are expensive. Can anyone advise simple but clean accommodation for Single person under 20 Dollars?

I am coming to work in Erzurum in the autumn. what is the cost of flat suitable for a batchelor from western europe - microwave and washing machine essential. bed maybe? I got a flat in Sofia for €300 and one in Tirana for USD 250 per month plus utilities, so I am used to living in different countries. I guess heating in the winter would be a majorconcern..

Oltu-Erzerum road

Hi All

has anyone traveled on a road from Erzerum to Oltu. My understanding is that there are two roads: one through south (through Kaledidi turning to the right) and the other north (through Aksu).

My questions are the following:
1. Is it possible to travel through a northern route? (passing Aksu, Basbaglar, Camlibel, etc…) and how long it takes to pass?
2. Are there any sightseeings on the southern route and how long it takes getting to Oltu? (from Erzerum)
