Me and my flatmate have decided to pack in our well paid media jobs in London to spend summer 2010 in Icmeler. We know that this is mental because we have worked really hard to get where we are (I work in TV as a producer and my friend in Film) but we cant seem to change our minds. I would love some common sense comments or other crazy people out there to agree with our decision just so we can get varied opinions.
Turkish men play a very small part in this decision but we know the risks and are doing everything completely independent from them... like te apartment etc...

My partner and I are thinking about traveling to Marmaris in early November. Please can anyone tell me if there is anything open around that time of the year or do all the bars and clubs close for winter?

Hi Just about to book a short break to Marmaris for 4 Nights. 2 adults and two children aged 5 and 3. can someone please recommend a hotel situated near the beach and where all the shops and restaurants are within working distance from hotel. Also how long will the transfer take from the Airport?

Just booked a late deal for 9th July.. apartments are called SEDA APARTMENTS.
Look like they are off YUNUS NADIR BOULEVARD and ISMET KAMIL ONER AVENUE,so any local information please.
1. Where to eat out at night .local? NOT interested in any tourist food.
2. Nearest supermarket / or just market day.
3. Nearest beach worth visiting
4. anything else that 2 mid 40's might like to do

We are 3 25 year old girls going to Marmaris mid June - can anyone recommend a hotel / apartments which are close to the night life but are decent (nice pool/nice staff/reasonable rooms etc? We are on a fairly tight budget so would be grateful for any help! Thanks

arriving Marmaris early on 24th May and want to get to Ephesus for sightseeing then end up in Izmir that evening...

can I rent a car in Marmaris and return to Izmir?
is there tour/transportation service to Ephesus from Marmaris, then maybe I can catch train to Izmir that evening?
Is there train service for whole trip?

Hi, I am going back to Icmeler on holiday in June. We had a day trip to Marmaris last year and seen the lovely ottoman boats. Has anyone been a trip on these? Do you have a meal onboard? Are children allowed? Be grateful for any help and information, thank you.

is it possible to get from dalyan to marmaris by public transport? either by boat or bus

Hi mates. We are a family of 2 adults and a child and are going for a cruise on the MSC Poesia. The ship is going to embark in Marmaris on Monday 13th April from 07:00 am to 16:00. Please advice what's the best to do and see in one day. Is there enough time to visit Dalyan & Caunos? Is it wise to go on tour or is it possible to make it on our own. hi there have booked the Mares hotel dolphin park, for 2 weeks at Easter, we are a family of 5, our children are 14, 11 and 3, we are worried about the weather and would like to know if it is warm enough to go swimming in the pool and maybe sunbathe etc, we have already bought sunscreen!! Also would like to know of anyone who has been here and any tips which would be helpful, would be much appreciated, special requests regarding best rooms would be helpful too, and will there be entertainment in evening?????

Im going to marmaris on the 20th of april for 2 weeks and was wondering if anybody can tell me what the weather is going to be like and if anybody could tell me if everything is open. I am visiting someone who works at Faros Beach Pub and was thinking of booking into the Royal Maris hotel, has anyone been and is it close to Faros Beach Pub, within walking distant?

Also, is it 24 hour check in? Is 24 hour check in the norm in Marmaris?

I am thinking of going over to Marmaris some time this month to visit a man I met this summer, (i am under no illusions as i know the reputation Turkish men have) but he does seem quite genuine, I am just wondering whether it is considered more dangerous to go over alone in the quieter season? Has anyone been at this time alone? And could you recommend anywhere to stay in Marmaris?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help me at all I am wanting to marry in Marmaris hopfully in Febuary I no all the documents that I need in order to marry there! however I have just found out I will have to travel to Izmir to finalize and legalize my certificates. I have a qeustion....i want to go to marmaris on 21 october but there is only a flight left from amsterdam to bodrum. Now i would like to know if there are going busses from bodrum to marmaris and if someone can tell me how much it will cost me.

My sister is currently in Bodrum, and wishes to come to marmaris on monday 6th october, as this is where i live.
The bus companies have changed to winter time table, she wants to leave bodrum about 18.00, which is the best companie, and what time and how much.

Hey, im 17 years old and im heading off to marmaris on the 15th of september. 1st time so am kinda scared of flying lol. any way, ive been told you can rent out mopeds and quads during the holiday but i wanted to know do you need a licence? i have got my provisional and im nearly 18 so...yeah i'm aloud to drive a moped in England so am i in marmaris...Thanks :)

I'm going to Marmaris on the 15th of august and staying for a week. I would like to have some suggestions about what to do in Marmaris. I heard about mud baths? trip with boat? prices? How to book?

I'm also used to travel to places with long beaches that are not so full of people. Are there such places in Marmaris or nearby Marmaris? Do you pay any fees to go to the beach?

I would also like to know if it's ok to wear swimming shorts on the beach (I'm a lady). my shorts are knee high. I rarely swim and don't want to expose my self too much for the sun.

How is the shopping, I'm not looking for tourist stuff only, Turkey is known for their good textile industry and good designers. Are the any shopping malls in marmaris or nearby the city? any outlets?

Has anybody stayed at Ince Apartments in Icmeler? What are they like? What's Icmeler like for family with teenage boy?

does anyone know where i can get a room or small apartment for a week near the marina at the end of October 08? It needs to be resonably budget, but I will consider anything. If you do not know, do you know how i can find out. All the tour companies seem to use big hotels along at the beach which is a long way from the marina.
