Province of Cebu Malapascua or Moalboal? Why?
Posted: Wed May 7, 2008 05:09 PM UTC
I'm an amateur scuba diver and would like to get some diving in on these two top spots I've heard about.

Can anyone who has visited either or both tell me which is better and why? I'm also looking for at least a little topside life since we can't live underwater forever, can we??

Malapascua Island better dive operator
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 03:38 AM UTC
which is better of the following:

Exotic Island Dive Resort
Thresher Divers
Dan's Divers

I'm looking for a dive operator that is flexible, has value for money and definitely not that which has the highest rate per dive.

Any other good options for dive operators?

Thanks!

My father hails from the island of Bohol, and I wish to learn more about the culture there. Does anyone know of the tribes that exist or did exist in Bohol? I'd like to know what tribe my family might possibly hail from.

Cebu Island Is it worth it?
Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 03:57 AM UTC
We will be in Boracay in October for 2 weeks and thought about flying into Cebu for a few days. I saw that Cebu Pacific can get us there for really cheap. We would go on a Monday and come back on a Wednesday ( or something like that). Is it worth it? We thought it would be nice to fly to another island since we are coming from so far away. I looked at Cebu becuase it is the only flight that goes out of Boracay...what do you think? Go or stay put in Boracay?

Province of Cebu Dive courses in cebu
Posted: Wed January 2, 2008 04:01 AM UTC
Hi All,

Im going to be in Cebu for a week at the end of the month and I was hoping on doing my diving certification whilst there. Im looking at places in Moalboal, most places are around $400US to complete the open water certiification. Can anyone recommend any dive centers in particular? Is there any other places near Cebu which have better diving and would be better for learning? Also, do you have to book at this time of year or is it possible to just rock up?

Thanks for any feedback

Province of Cebu Still need help (!) - Cebu 6 day itinerary for 25-30 Dec
Posted: Sat December 22, 2007 06:53 AM UTC
I've bounced a few travel ideas around in these forums, but still have not nailed down my Cebu travel itinerary. I will be arriving at Mactan airport on 25 Dec and need to figure out what to do. Here are the considerations, please help with whatever you can:

1. want to go to Siquijor, but there are limited ferry options from Cebu and none on 25 Dec. How should I get there, and how long do I need there? What's the 'best' waterfall in Siquijor?

2. have been to southern Cebu and Bohol before. Loved all those places but want to go someplace new. Suggestions?

3. Is traveling for 2-3 days on northern Cebu island a good idea? It seems like it might be a good idea because less dependant on ferries. I've read the LP on it, but how to prioritize where to go?

4. What's the 'best' waterfall in northern Cebu island?

5. Is renting a car for self drive on Cebu island a good or bad idea?

Thanks!

Province of Cebu No ferries on Dec 25?
Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 07:09 AM UTC
I was/am planning to travel from Cebu to Siquijor on 25 December. I've just been informed by a Siquijor hotel that there are no ferries running on 25 Dec from Cebu - Siquijor. Can anyone confirm whether this is true? Are ferries to all destinations not running on that day?

Cebu Island which beach to stay in cebu...
Posted: Sun December 16, 2007 11:38 AM UTC
I'm choosing between Mactan, Malapascua and Bantayan Island. In Mactan, I only know the shanri-la mactan beach. in bantayan, i only know of the Sante Fe beach. For Malapascua, i've read a lot of posts about the different resorts there.

I'm after a private beach or a public beach (that is not too crowded around February-March), has a clean shower with heater, no insects lurking in the resort room, nearby restaurants where I can eat (I always have the feeling that restaurants in the resorts are expensive), and a resort where I'm allowed to bring my own drinks and snacks.

Any suggestions?

Also, for the private beaches, are there any rooms that is P7000 and below per night with the cottage/room on beachfront location?

Province of Cebu Urgent.... Island hopping tours in Cebu?
Posted: Sat December 15, 2007 10:21 AM UTC
hello there!

my sis and my mom need to spend a few hours in cebu/mactan before heading off to the Pier for the ferry to Bohol at 6:30p.m.

so is it possible that they join the island hopping tours in cebu and still be able to make it in time to the Pier?

When does these island hopping tours end exactly? and how much?

Or should they just shill out PHP 350 for the day tour at maribago bluewater?

thanks in advance!

Province of Cebu Need advice on the time schedule
Posted: Wed December 12, 2007 06:30 AM UTC
Hey everyone! I need some advice on this...

We are arriving in Cebu at 3:05 from Kalibo on Cebu Pacific and hope to catch a 6:30pm ferry to Tagbilaran on Weesam/OceanJet. It might not be a good idea to stay overnight in Cebu since we've already booked our accomodation in Panglao.

Do you think we'll make it in time to the port for the ferry?

I heard that Cebu Pacific has always had some major delays.

So is this do-able?

Cebu Island Camping in Cebu / Bohol / Siquijor - possible?
Posted: Sun December 2, 2007 12:37 AM UTC
Landing in Cebu morning of Dec 25, departing Cebu early morning of Dec 31.

I've never been one to book accomodation in advance, but given that it's a holiday period and I'm traveling with a friend, I started enquiring. It seems most guest houses are already booked up, which means finding anything on the spot might be impossible.

So, I'm wondering, as a back up option, is camping feasible on these islands? Any (website listing) campgrounds? What should I bring? Or is it not necessary (my preference is not to camp, but will bring some gear to give some assurance and flexibility if standard accomodations are unavailable).

Cebu Island Suggestions for 6 days in Visayas
Posted: Wed November 28, 2007 12:06 PM UTC
Arriving in Cebu morning of 25 Dec, flying out of Cebu morning of 31 Dec. It works out to exactly 6 days on the ground.

I've been to Cebu and Bohol once two years ago for a week. I went to southern Cebu island like Moalboal, Kawasan Falls, and places on Bohol like Alona Beach, Loboc River and Chocolate Hills.

I enjoyed all of these places very much. I wouldn't mind revisiting some (most likely Alona beach), but would like to see some new places. Siquijor is on my radar. Where else should be? Any suggestions on what to do?

Is it impossible to find lodging on the spot during this Christmas week? Are even places in Siquijor totally booked in advance?

Thanks!
