How to go to Vigan? Posted: Thu September 10, 2009 07:28 PM UTC
Hi. This is my first time to go to Vigan and I would appreciate much if I could get some ideas.
Is it easier if I'll bring my own car or just take bus ride. Can you give me some estimations on how much would be the cost If I'll just take a bus?
Thanks so much.

looking for a driver/tour guide in Ilocos Posted: Sat August 29, 2009 03:39 AM UTC
Hi guys! Does anyone know of a local driver/tour guide who has a van who will pick us up in our hotel either from Vigan or from Laoag. There are 3-4 of us and we will either go first to Cordillera Inn at Calle Crisologo, Vigan. From there the driver/tour guide will drive us to the famous spots from Ilocos Sur going to North then back to hotel. Or, if we decide to go by plane frm Manila and land to Laoag, then he'll be picking us up frm. our hotel in Laoag going to the different spots in both Ilocos Norte and Sur. Please email me their contact nos. and email addresses if you know of anyone. Thanks!

touring ilocos for 2 days this coming August Posted: Sat July 18, 2009 03:56 PM UTC
hi guys, i need your help, this will be my first time to go to ilocos, is it possible to go to pagudpud then to vigan then laoag for just two days? here's my IT:
8:30 pm Friday Aug. 7, 2009 depart from manila via florida bus going to Pagudpud
ETA 8:30 am Sat. Aug. 8 (not that sure for the ETA) then visit the Bangui windmills and Burgos Lighthouse
10 am go to vigan via bus (is there a direct bus ride from pagudpud going to vigan? if yes, what bus line and how much will it cost from pagudpud to vigan)
1pm ETA Vigan, check in (is gordion's inn ok?)
have lunch and tour vigan and stay there for a night
1 pm Sunday Aug. 9 after lunch travel to laoag since we booked a flight around 7pm for manila;
will there be ample time to tour laoag considering we have to go to laoag airport before 7 pm?
or should we just stay in vigan for the whole saturday Aug. 8 since we will be arriving in the morning and just go to laoag sunday morning?
and is it possible to go to paoay church via jeep or bus?
what's your suggestion for just 2 days of ilocos tour, how can i maximize my stay there and visit pagudpud, laoag and vigan in just 2 days?
tnx a bunch...your reply will be highly appreciated :)

I need help for my itinerary this Holy Week. Posted: Mon March 16, 2009 10:52 AM UTC
I'm planning to do a road trip going to vigan, laoag and pagudpod. I would probably leave tuesday or wednesday (April 7/8-12) early morning so it won't be too late when i reach my destination/s. I'm willing to do stop overs in neighboring provinces that are on the way to Ilocos Sur. I would appreciate it if you guys can help me fix my itinerary from Manila-stop overs-Vigan-Laoag-Pagudpod-Manila. I'll be bringing a camera to document my trip so suggest good places to get the best pictures.
I've read some of the replies from other posts and its really helpful. I hope I can get tips from you guys. Take care and have a good day!

hotel in vigan and rental car Posted: Wed March 4, 2009 06:01 AM UTC
hello,
i'm planning a trip to vigan to attend a workshop. however, since i get sick when i travel long hours by land, i will be taking the pal flight to laoag instead. my questions are the ff:
1. from laoag airport, where can i find the van rentals to take me to vigan and how much would it probably cost? i'm sure there are plenty outside the airport but i would appreciate it if anyone can suggest a reliable company that will not overprice me.
2. what is the most comfortable hotel in vigan which offers full amenities? i am not particular with the price, just with the amenities and service.
3. i plan to have a car at my disposal for the whole weekend in vigan. i will not be staying at the workshop's venue, baluarte, so i think it is practical to rent a car to bring me back and forth from the venue. does anyone have any idea where i can get the numbers of reliable car rentals?
i hope someone can help me with my inquiries, thanks!

Ilocos Sur Triathlon, March 22nd Posted: Tue February 10, 2009 03:58 AM UTC
Friends,
We have been told there's going to be a triathlon in Ilocos Sur on March 22nd but us city brats from Manila have no idea about the logistics. All we know is that the swim leg (1.5 kms) will be in Cabugao then the bike leg (40 kms) will be towards Vigan where the run leg (10 kms) and finish line is supposed to be. The organizers will provide a bus from Manila and back but we still have other questions, like:
- Can you recommend any place to stay in Cabugao preferrably since the start of the triathlon will be there? We're told to check out the Cabugao Beach Resort but we would like to know what kind of accommodations are available there? Are there cottages good enough for 4-6 people with gear such as road bikes & other support equipment? What are the prices like (is the Cabugao Beach Resort affordable in terms of room rates & food etc)?
- How far is Cabugao and Vigan? What's the road condition like? Hilly, flat, smooth, rough? In terms of geographic orientation, what's closer to Manila - Cabugao or Vigan?
Would appreciate any info / help from you friendly folks.
Thanks much.

Christmas at Vigan Posted: Thu November 27, 2008 01:09 AM UTC
My family is planning to experience Christmas in Vigan at Ilocos on Dec. 23-26, 2008. We'll be staying around Burgos Plaza area. Any suggestions on what to plan, where & when to go, and what to expect during the season? Is it a very safe place to be at the peak of Christmas? We also want to go to the beach, is Cabugao Beach Resort one of the best if not the best?

Hi! I'm planning to go to vigan on Dec 26-30 2008. Would there be anyone who might know if people in Vigan especially children plays with firecrackers already?(labintador, bamboo canon if any.. etc..) I'm kinda frightened by these things and I would want my vacation ruined.. I'd appreciate your reply. Also, would it be a good time to visit the place? Thanks!

Please help in our Vigan adventure Posted: Mon October 6, 2008 06:13 AM UTC
Hi everyone, post in this forum is such a help in planning our vigan adventure.
But I need some info:
>where is the best place to stay for 2? fan room is okay but al least with nice and clean room. we are on tight budget.
basically, this is the important issue i need to addressed to in order for me to plan out our adventure.
this is the first escapade we are going to venture and i am hoping we can enjoy this trip.
and, would you advice me to stay at Playa de Oro? how far is the resort to the heritage village? i am also considering this place for our stay for more outdoor experience since on the day we will be spending it on the heritage site might ass well have a calming environmnet at night and early morning. it is nice to wake up hearing the sounds of the waves.
thanks so much for all the people who will take time to answer my inquiry.
God Bless!
