Riyadh Any golfers?
Posted: Tue August 7, 2007 08:40 AM UTC
Looking for anyone who would be interested in playing at Dirab on either the 30th or 31st of August. I have been wanting to play there on one of my trips to the Kingdom, but don't have any easy way to get there from the InterCon. Anyone who might be interested, I'd pay your green fees in exchange for a ride.

Riyadh Is there any apartment for hire in Riyadh?
Posted: Tue July 24, 2007 04:08 AM UTC
Im looking forward to hire an apartment/house for a month in riyadh. Perhaps there's a tip/clue for it. Im going there for a vacation with family + my parents too. So I think its not a good idea to stay in a hotel for a month. As the pay could be expensive too. Its better to get any apt/house/villa..??Kindly tell me so.

Riyadh Tailored Shirts
Posted: Thu June 21, 2007 07:33 PM UTC
Hopefully, the 4th time is a charm. I have never received any answers to my golfing at Dirab or Indian Cooking Class requests, maybe this will find a better reception. Anyone know a good place to have some dress shirts tailor-made in Riyadh? My "shape" doesn't lend itself to finding good fitting things off the racks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Riyadh King Fahad & Oleya Road
Posted: Tue June 19, 2007 11:03 AM UTC
Salamualikom, Halla Walla, Hi!

I want to ask you guys about these streets. What kind of streets are they? From the name, I could guess that King Fahad would be main bussiness street, but Oleya I'm not sure. How far are they to each other? Regarding their locations & the buildings that are there, what is the demography of companies that got their offices in King Fahad & Oleya road? Are they most probably to be decent?

Thanks alot for the infos. Most appreciated.

Regards.

Riyadh Tuna
Posted: Mon May 21, 2007 01:55 PM UTC
Hi

Does anyone know where I can buy fresh tuna. I know a lot of the supermarkets sell a much smaller, cheaper fish that they call tuna but I am looking for the real stuff - large fillets/steaks. Maybe there is a good fishmongers out there.

In fact if anyone has found any good speciality shops in Riyadh I'd appreciate it if you would let me know.

Thanks for your help

Riyadh Landing in Riyadh in 10 days, Require URGENT info
Posted: Mon March 12, 2007 09:56 AM UTC
Hi! Everybody,

I have been offered a position in Riyadh and am expected to join in next 10 days. I have a few doubts and would request the forum members to provide some inputs :

1.During Ramadan, if we are living in a compound, can we cook and also are we allowed to eat in office (we are Indian non-Muslim)

2.My daughter is 12 yrs old, is she required to wear an abaya and scarf to school and also in normal walk of life

3.Can the sub continent ladies wear a saree and / or salwar kameez under the abaya or is there any other fixed clothing rule to be followed

4.We have heard of Al Hamra compound. Are there any other good compounds with similar kind of amenities? Are there any other compounds with majority of habitants being from India / sub continent (I am to be provided with an furnished acco by my company)

5.Can we get Indian channels on TV either by DTH or cable?

Thanks & regards,

Riyadh Travelling by Road to Dammam/Khobar
Posted: Wed March 7, 2007 07:34 AM UTC
Dear fellow VTers,

I have been in Riyadh since December 2006 and after settling down with my drivers' licence, car and other formalities, I am ready to explore the country and meet with other people to share experiences living in Riyadh. I am starting my journey to Dammam/Khobar and I would appreciate if anyone can tell me:-

1. How far is the distance by road?
2. Is it easy and safe to drive from Riyadh?
3. What's the highlights in Dammam/Khobar?
4.Any good and reasonably rated hotel?

Thank you so much.
