Asslam-o-Alikum All:

Well, I am planning to perform Umrah with my wife and 2 kids in September, inshallah. We will be coming to Mecca from USA and don't know much about Mecca at this time.

Our stay will be very short,; about 3 days and we want to maximize the benefits of our stay inshallah. I know it is going to be Ramadan and with hot weather, mobility is going to be some what limited. But if you guys can help in the following, it will be really appreciated. May Allah bless and reward you for your answers.

1. What are the good, close to Haram, Clean and reasonably priced hotels in Mecca? Really need help on this because I can't find anything online.

2. What are the other sacred places we can visit close to Haram? What is the best way to get around the City?

Need to find good places to eat and Shop?

3. What is the best way for a family (4 people)to get around in Macca?

4. We will be leaving for Madina by Road. Does anyone have any information on this trip; where to catch the bus, fare, schedule, etc?

5. Anything else you like to add which is helpful in our stay?

I want a book a hotel room private DBL (2 single bed if possible or 1 large) for me and my wife during the period from 1429 haj inch'Allah.
Hotel du group ELAF if possible category 3 * max for average budget. (refrigerator, AC and kitchen or
restaurant in the hotel). Arrival: 2-12 / departure: 13-12-2008 (11 nights). Is there someone who can put me in contact with an agency of KSA JIDAH or other .. this book? Here I live in france or agencies sell only very expensive (flight + hotel + bus etc. ..). That is why I prefer to make my reservation only.

Does anyone know is there a Makkah map somewhere available in the web where clearly are marked borders of forbidden zone for non-muslims? As far as I know, it's not just Makkah city limits.

The same question about map of Madinah with clearly marked such borders. As fas as I know, forbidden zone is historical center of the city (including Prophet's Mosque) but not the whole city.

I must make the haj with my wife this year can you advise me for private housing
(dbl bed, kitchen, AC, refrigerator) to Mecca is there good plan? outside hotels
(private houses, residence ... etc.) or in a family soudienne not too far from
majid haram. Finally, your opinion will t'il instead of seeking an accommodation
on the spot?

I m planning to go for Umrah from Dubai. Does anybody know if I can apply for an urgent Visa for Umrah. I want to join my parents who are already in Makkah. Could anyone please advise what is the minimum time required to get a visa.

What is the shortest time needed for planning to go to Umrah (or mecca only). I mean, can I decide to go to Umrah and leave within 48 hours? what is the shortest time from 1st step of wanting to go to sitting in the plane? back in 1998 I was able to go to Umrah within 48 hrs. Could I still do that?

I am having rent a car. How can I get Umrah visa without the travel agents.

Can I drive the rent a car to Saudia for Umrah. What about car insurance.

If a fly to Jeddah, how to get rent a car there.

I am planing to visit Saudi Arabia For Umra from Europe, I would like to have some Advise.

Is it Possible to Travel to Saudi Arabia without going trough a Agent.
The Travel-agent aske mee to pay for the Vise too, According to the SA-Embassy there Visas is free. I heard that If have a Hotel Reservation in Mecca it should not bee a problem to get a Visa from the Embassy, Othervise it has to go throug a travel agent.
I would like to hear any Recomendation for good Hotels or apartment in Mecca.
Any adress or Website link wil be appreciated.

I am planning to perform Umrah this Ramadan Season. I am planning to be with a group of friends and their families, since living close to Haram is expensive and won't find bookings that easy. we decided to live in a Finished apartments, any suggestions, a good ones with reasonable rates?

Type of apartment: 4 bedrooms rooms or so

I have booked my ticket for 20th june and inshallah if everything goes well i will be reaching mecca on 21st of this month to perform umrah.However, I have not booked any hotel from my local agent as the price he was quoting was beyond my scope, hence i have planned to go and get the hotel by myself inshallah. As this is my first time I really dont know whether it is possible to move around and search the cheapest possible hotel?
If any of you know the cheapest and the nearest hotel to haram then i would guide myself to that location inshallah.

1. nearest 3-4 star hotel. which should be 2-3 minutes of walk from Khana Kaba
2. for child 4 years can we carry pram/stroller or what else option are available as she can not walk and for me to carry her in arms i think will not be possible.

I am a working female who just won a free Umrah...my father has already took his vacation & I have no other mehram to travel with me.
Ofcourse I don't want to miss the Umrah, is it possible for me to be accompanied only by my mother (she's 42 yrs old & she completed Hajj with my dad before)...
or is it possible for me to go to Umrah (with no mehram) with the group who are going for Umrah (which will include men & women) from the agency that is managing the Umrah...

how much will a trip to mecca cost me?

I have to say that planning travel from Morocco is not easy - and I know there are more experienced travelers to the area. I am planning to make a trip to Baghdad as well but of course, Hajj is more important to me. Please, let's start a dialogue so I can get the best planning directions and advice regarding travel to Mecca. I am not looking to travel at the busiest time of year, so that will not be a must for now.

My Mother will join me she will come from Asia and I will be travelling from Europe to Jiddah.

I would like to meet her in Jiddah itself.

is it possible that she enteres Jiddah without me?
I heard that a woman can not enter Saudia Arabia without a male family member.

I am planning to do umrah next year inshallah, I have very specific query I hope inshallah I would get help from you all on this!

I have almost 20 days from my annaul leave to take, I have decided to use 5 for Umrah and the rest for back home hyderabad,India. I have to take this holidays before 31 mar 2007. My question now, Can someone of you please let me know when the earliest i can go umrah as they are closed during the Haj.

Secondly, what should be the best way to go for this? Do you recommend me to book hotels (preferably the most econimical) before hand or i could also do after getting into mecca?

I know i should ask this to the travel agents but stil just to get an idea, how much would be total cost involved in my whole trip from london-mecca-hyderabad and back to london.

Please let me know.

I intend to go for umrah in april 2007 inshallah. My parents have health issues and problem walking. I need to stay in some hotel which is very close to haram in both Makkah and Medina and is comfortable as well. Which ones should i go for, when i take a package from some travel agent?

Also is it possible to get a wheelchair from hotel to haram?
