Beirut Camera Confiscation
Posted: Mon December 25, 2006 06:30 PM UTC
Hello Everyone,

I am going to Beirut January 5th 2007, until January 10th. I will then leave by taxi to Damascus, Syria on the 10th.
I have a brand new digital camera and would like to get some use from it. I am ignorant about laws taking pictures in Beirut/Syria. Does anyone have advice on using my digital camera?
Is it ok to walk around Beirut and take pictures? Will the Syrian officials confiscate my camera at the border?

Thanks.

Beirut Apartment rental
Posted: Fri December 22, 2006 09:11 PM UTC
Hi all
I'm new to VT. I'm an Irish journalist moving to Beirut from mid January for six months to one year for work. I am looking to rent an apartment, or possibly share. I want to live in a fairly nice area, preferably close to the city centre. Any recommendations on places to stay, prices I should expect to pay, and how to find a place would be most welcome. Any offers would also be welcome.
Thanks

Beirut Cheap place to rent for 4 months
Posted: Mon July 10, 2006 01:22 PM UTC
Hello everyone

I am an Egyptian who wants to stay in Beirut for 4 months. I hope you can help find a cheap place to rent for those four months. I will need a get a piano into the place, so, I think it won't be a hotel. Actually, I prefer private places, like studios and the likes, so I can be somewhat free. Any suggestions? Also, where can I find a piano to rent for the same period. I never have been to Lebanon before, so, it will be a totally new experience to me. I hope you can tell me about the social life, music scene, hanging out and food costs in there.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate your help.
