Kuwait Short visit to Kuwait: Visa and hotel question
Posted: Wed April 12, 2006 07:24 PM UTC
Dear fellow VT's!

As I most probably have to cancel a trip to Saudi-Arabia, I'm thinking of Kuwait as as alternativ destination for my free ticket.

1.) VISA
I've found different info about visa requirements in the internet: applying prior to arrival, at the airport, invitation yes/no... Does snyone has some recent experience?
As stated above I stay 3 nights, I have a german passport, arriving from germany and leaving to germany by air.

2.) HOTEL
Can you recommend a hotel or a travel agent, which allows me to stay for less than 200$ (better less than 150$) for three nights?

regards, Johannes

Kuwait Windsurfing in Kuwait
Posted: Fri March 31, 2006 09:03 PM UTC
I noticed someone had asked about the possibility of doing some windsurfing a few years ago on this forum, but for a woman is it a different story? What about on the beaches in general? How much needs to be covered and what's considered an appropriate female activity?

Assuming I will be able to do some, does anyone have contact details for a beach club or surf shop where I could hire a rig? And will a full wetsuit suffice, even if it stops just above my ankles?

Thanks for any help, and apologies if I appear overly paranoid about local attitudes. I'm not too sure what to expect.

Kuwait Holding of passports
Posted: Sun March 19, 2006 12:17 PM UTC
My company holds my passport despite it being illegal. They have hinted that I would lose my job if I take it any further.

Do many other people have the same problem and has anyone actually been terminated for spurious reasons after insisting on having it back?

Kuwait Anyone want to meet up for coffee?
Posted: Mon January 2, 2006 07:05 AM UTC
Hi everyone

It has been 4 months since I was first arrived in Kuwait. Life is not to bad at all. However, I feel a bit lonely here. It would be better if I could have a chance to know more people here. If anyone is interested to meet for a coffee sometimes, please let me know.

Looking forward to hear from you soon

Kuwait German, South African expats
Posted: Thu February 10, 2005 05:07 PM UTC
This forum has certainly answered a lot of my questions - great stuff! But does anyone know where German or South African expats meet?

I'm German myself and I'll be in Kuwait from 18 Feb onwards, hopefully for a long time.

Kuwait 8 hour stop-over
Posted: Tue November 16, 2004 03:25 AM UTC
Hi all,
I'll be having an 8 hour stop over in Kuwait next february, and I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what I should do. Is there anything near by that I should check out, or would it be safer and easier to just chill out in the air port? Do you know if I'll need a visa just for a stopover?
Cheers
