I am planning to go to Aqaba in June and I have couple questions.

Diving: I have found some info on the new diving club called Aqaba Adventure Divers Dive Center. have you heard about it? Is it good, bad, ok?

Accomodation: I am looking into staying at the Captains Tourist Hotel. Any feedback on that one? And what would you advice, does it make sense to do a prior reservation or just on the spot?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to drive my car from cairo to petra through taba. I would like to drive my car all the way to petra and back to cairo. I would like to know whether it is possible to take my car from taba to aqaba by ferry / barge and then drive to petra and back to cairo through the same route. my car has a egyptian number plate.

is it possible? please help

Hi, We will be in Eliat and want to drive a rent a car from Eilat to Aqaba.
Is there a one day visa available at the boarder crossing.
Is this the best way to get there for a day trip.

Does anyone know of a ship (other than the major cruise lines) that travels the Suez from Aqaba/Sharm/Taba or other ports in that area? I want to spend some time in Petra and Sharm as well as Alexandria and none of the major lines allow enough time in port. I am trying to locate a small specialty ship, likely locally owned.

Does anybody if there is a ferry from Aqaba to Nuweiba and from
Nuweiba to Aqaba? does it work on summer only or also on March ?
Costs ? time tables ? any website to check ?

how much cost a taxi between Aqaba and Eilat. Are there Taxis to use? Have i to change the taxi on the border ?

I am ariving in Aqaba (for the first time) at the end of October, travelling with a friend and two children; 1. has anyone any suggestions about a hotel in Aqaba, estimated prices etc?? 2. How long does it take to get to Petra and realistically what is the best method and what are the costs, when one only has a day to see Petra? 3. the same question for Wadi Rum,(I have read about the necessary guides in Jordan Jubilee!)

Any other suggestions/information, much appreciated.

We are considering booking a trip to Jordan and the tour we like best uses the Jordan Suites Hotel in Aqaba. I'm failing to find much info on the web about the hotel. Has anyone stayed there, got any comments. I know its a 2* hotel but that's about all! Don't even know where in Aqaba - how close to the beach it is etc. Would be grateful for any help

Does anyone know where is this Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority(ASEZA) office is? How far is it from the city center(and which direction)?

I will get the free ASEZ visa, but I have to report-in the ASEZA office within 48 hours after I enter Jordan.

My husband and I booked a holiday in Moevenpick resort and I would really appreciate any info about it. I am mostly interested at drink prices at the resort as well as the prices of meals in hotel restorants. Are they much more expensive than in other bars and resorants in Aqaba? Any info on this would be great as we still have no idea how much pocket money we should bring...

Planning a trip to Aqaba, and can not decide on the hotel. Both Golden tupil and Aquamarina II seem to be ok and resonably priced, so I can not make up my mind. acctually from the photos I like Golden tulip better but am slightly worried that swimming pool is too small. has anyone been to these hotels? I would appreciate any information!

I'm leaving to Aqaba in 1/7/2005 and i will spend a month so can anyone help me and tell me where i can find cheapest place to stay at(not more than 100JD/month) and i also want to know if i can find any part time jobs for students and i think i will be bored alone so i need to wate my time by doing some work.I'm a student in the faculty of Engineering but i don't care abt what job to do during my stay there.Please help in finding what i need because i'm dreaming of making full use of my month trip.Thanks in advance.

We are thinking of travelling to Jordan next year, and although we like to stay in 5star hotels, the Alcazar in Aqaba seems like a good place to stay for divers. Has anyone been to this hotel and can you offer any advice or recommendations?

Anyone got advice about snorkelling at Aqaba, please? We'll only have two full days. Should we buy gear in UK or buy/rent in Aqaba? Where are best places to buy/rent in Aqaba and where are best areas to go, as we don't have much time? Many thanks.

Anyone know approx cost of taxi from Aqaba to Wadi Musa, also Wadi Musa to Wadi Rum. How do prices compare with bus prices?
