I m going to frankfurt to praga, but I have some difficulties to buy a ticket
I found one that goes from Frankfurt(Main)Süd to praga
but I would like to know if it is easy to get there from the frnakfurt central station or if a I have to buy tickets in advance?
I m leaving to praga the 1/1/2010
Based on replies to other similar questions, I've gone to the Deutsche Bahn site and found tickets from Frankfurt Hbf to Prague Autobusova (I assume that's the main bus station there). The fare is 59 Euro and all looks fine, but I'm confused by the "Products" info, where it tells which types of transport are used - it says ICE and bus. And that the travel time is 6 hours. There are no connections listed (I was expecting to see a connection in Nurnburg), and no indication of when the bus part comes in - I would think that bus travel would lengthen the time, not shorten it from 8 hrs to 6 hrs. What am I missing here?
I'll be traveling with 3 children under age 8, so would like to avoid bus travel in general and reduce my connections.
Following a couple of days in Prague, we'll be heading on to Krakow, so any train travel tips for that end are also welcome.
Dear all.. Would like to know if overnight parking is possible at park and rides? I am thinking of parking in the Kalbach P+R as I do not have an emission sticker yet, and take train to city to spend a few days at the hotel in center.
So the questions are
- is this is a secure parking? can I leave car for a couple of days there with peace of mind?
- is there a maximum time limit or so for this location?
- would you recommend a better option for parking without killing the wallet as I would be coming from Dresden
- any challenges you see by using the above option?
If proven successful, I think this can be a useful tip for others driving to frankfurt.

Hey everyone,
I'll be in Frankfurt for a morning before I head to the Nurburgring. I was wanting to pick up some decent driving shoes before I head to the track. I don't need anything fire retardant, but just something a little more suited to performance driving. Does anyone know of some stores in the city centre that would carry some sort of driving shoes? Any websites would be very helpful!
Thanks!
Dave
My husband and I will be traveling through Germany and we'll have just a few hours to explore Frankfurt Am Main. We'll have luggage that is on the larger side and I'm wondering if locking up our luggage in Frankfurt HBF is a reasonable idea. Are there ample lockers? Most importantly, are they secure? How does it work — is there an attendant that helps you or is it self-serve?
Also how close is the train station from the city centre? What's the best way to get there? Walk? We won't have much time, so we were considering dropping off our bags and seeing as much as we can.
Hello VTs: I may have made a mistake, but I purchased a eurail pass and my plane arrives in Frankfurt airport at 7:20 am. on a Friday morning. I made a reservation for the 8:54 am train to Munich. My question is; do I have to stand in line at the DB ticket counter to validate my eurail pass or can I somehow do this on the train? And if, I have to go to a counter first, is there a special line just for eurail validations? Thanks, SH
Hey everyone. Me and my husband will be arriving in Frankfurt at 7pm and leaving sometime the next morning or early afternoon, so we don't need much out of our hotel. Looking for something clean and near the main train station with a couple of interesting things to do nearby in our few hours there. Thanks.
Hello,
I will be crossing Germany soon with camper and I would like to know whether you know nice places to park and spend night in around Frankfurt (50km radius) or Wurzburg (50km radius)? I'd like to know places with nature and maybe some food or barbeque. Do you know any places like this in the region? Thank you very much and best regards.
- Is frankurt hann (Ryanair airport) far form the city center?

I have a flight with Luftansa fron US to Israel via connection in Frankfurt Intl airport. I have 7h in between time for the connection flight so my question is if i can ask to drop off my bag at Germany so i can go to the city for few hours...
I will be flying into the Frankfurt International Airport in August. I have 3 hours between the time my flight arrives and when my sister's flight arrives. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can go that is around the airport? How close is the airport to things to see around Frankfurt? Any advice would be appreciated.
My 22 y.o. son will be traveling alone to Frankfurt (FRA) and taking a train to Amsterdam. I've learned from reading posts that there is a train station at the airport. I'm assuming that he will be able to catch his train there. Will that trip be direct to Amsterdam or will he need to change trains? He has already purchased a Eurail Pass. I know that some tickets require a surcharge for a reservation. Will this be one of those situations? If not, does that change once in the Netherlands? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter. This trip has come up quickly and he will be leaving in a few days. We plan on doing as much research as we can, but I have found that VT is always the best source for info.
I´m pregnant and we will go for some days in Frankfurt. I would like to buy some things for my newborn here. Could you advise me some big shops (ideally with adress) where to go? What I need? I would like to buy Kindersitzsystem for my car, crib, some clothing maybe, some elektronic things like babyphone and so on.
Thank you. Martina
Me and my husband are going to be in Frankfurt for about 10 hours, on our way to other European destination. I was wondering if somebody can suggest me the best way to make use of that time visiting some of the places in Frankfurt. Is the hop-on-hop-off a good option?
My family came from Balhorn in the 1850's. What's the area like now, and does anyone know what it was like then? Farming community? Also, does anyone have any photos of the area? I've checked Google images, but there was very little there. Thanks!
We are arriving in Frankfurt and spending a few days but then want to take a train to Amsterdam. Any tips on train types, prices, travel time?
I have not traveled much in Northern Europe, mostly Spain and Italy. I can't seem to figure out much about Germany or Holland :( thanks for any help.
I am planning to go Frankfurt and I am checking very cheap rates with Ryan Air from Bologna airport until Hahn; just want to be sure that the bus and train connection to Frankfurt City Centre will not cost me too much...Can someone suggest me a web-site where I can check which options exist and how much they cost? Thanks
Hello, I am traveling to Frankfurt in September. We will be staying in Baden-Baden for the most part. We of course would love to make the trip to Neuschwanstein Castle and are wondering if this is doable in a day trip. Also what would be the best way to get there...by bus or rail? Or both? Thank you in advance :)
We are hoping to go to Frankfurt after Christmas this year.. for a 5 day city break.....27th Dec to 1st Jan

We were stationed in Germany in the 70's and often went to a restaurant in Frankfurt Nied, but can't remember where it was. They served a huge grillplatte( about 36 inches long ) which could feed 4 people easily. It was served with a sword down the middle, the meat covering the sword, and flaming. They always turned off the lights when bringing it to the table. Realizing that this a "looooong" time ago, we wondered if it is still around and has anyone ever heard of it? We will be in that area in early October and would love to go back there.
i booked tickets to paris through three different airlines, (it was cheaper)
I realized i may have made a bit of a blunder and i am wondering if i can make this all work out or if i am screwed.
I am getting to frankfurt at 9:35 AM from NYC on a Sunday. I am not checking in any bags and I walk/move quickly. I have a connection on Air France at 10:40 AM to paris CDG
I read that I can check in 30 hrs prior to departure on their air france website
So my question, do you think I can make this flight? Do I have to go through customs? How long will it get from my flight from nyc(DELTA) to paris (Air France)
I was wondering if anyone could suggest either an apartment/hotel or a sublet in a nice area of Frankfurt one person, who will be continuing her studies in Germany? It would be from the middle of august until the end of October. Cost is a factor as she is still a student completing her PHD. Any leads to this end would be so appreciated.
Hi
In the not too distant future, i will find myself at Frankfurt Airport, in town on business and have one day. Is the city center far from the main airport? Is it easy to get to the city center from airport without too much hassle? If the city center is too far, is there any area closer to airport easy to get to worth going to ( nothing in particular would like to see, just explore the area).
