Puerto Galera Hi need help:)
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 06:07 PM UTC
Hi, me and my friends are planning to go to PG this weekend and since it labor day on thursday will the rates be affected?and if so, can we find a cheaper accomodation one that is along the range of 1k-1500?we plan to stay there for 3 days and 2 nights, were not that picky about the room but if it is available we woukd like to find a room with an aircon, do any of you know how much would that cost us?

1.Can we go there without reservations? since we are hoping to get a cheaper accomodation(good for 6 persons?with an aircon)

2. Where is the best place to stay? we both want to relax and also to have fun at night

3. If we opted to cook for our foods, is it more cheaper to do so?

our budget is atleast around 1.5K-2K/person would that be enough to last for 3 days?

thanks for your kind replies in advance:)

Puerto Galera Aninuan or Talipanan Beach
Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 02:45 AM UTC
Hello! We're planning to go to PG this May 1-3. We are about 20 pax with 2-3 kids and a baby. We are looking for a nipa hut that can accommodate us where we can cook and with decent T&B? A private house is okey as long as it is not very far from the beach. Can you recommend a place for us? Would really appreciate your response. Thanks very much!

How is Big/Small Lalaguna beach? Is it OK for not so good smimmer?
Our main goal is to relax...and snorkel...

Puerto Galera Road condition from Calapan to Puerto Galera
Posted: Wed March 12, 2008 12:56 PM UTC
Hi. I plan to ride my motorcycle from Iloilo to Caticlan (Boracay jump-off) then take the ferry to Roxas, Mindoro and from there on to Puerto Galera via Calapan. I'm familiar with the route except for the Calapan to Puerto Galera leg since this is the first time I'll go to Puerto.

I will appreciate feedback on the road conditions and whether they will be suitable to big bikes. I am quite confused because there seems to be diferent opinions on the road condition, ranging from atrocious to well paved. :)

Thanks in advance.

Puerto Galera fx going to Batangas pier
Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 07:53 AM UTC
Hi everyone,

I did actually read one posting about taking an FX going to batangas pier. My bro and I are planning to bring our car because i'll bring along my 11th month old baby girl but i think the parking rate may give hassle. so it will be more comfortable if we will take the fx.Did anyone know the schedules of the FX's in front of the bus stations in Buendia? do they have early morning schedules? and estimated how much will be the fare? Are they still operating? becuase i keep on asking people who already went to galera if they know these fx's, but none has knowledge about it.

Puerto Galera Need help to contact several resorts
Posted: Fri February 22, 2008 02:40 AM UTC
Hello everyone,

We are 4 traveling to Puerto Galera from March 21-24th from Shanghai. I have a few questions hope you can help me with:

1. I want to stay at the west end of White Beach, or Aninuan Beach or Talipanan Beach. Because it is quieter and I wish to swim more than dive. Is it a reasonable expectation?

2. Do you have the contact of Coco Aroma (a resort on White Beach), The Aninuan Beach Resort and Tamaraw Beach Resort? I would really appreciate it. I have searched online and saw a few cellphone numbers. I called and didn't get through. So I really need your help!

Many thanks!

Oh, and which has better night life, sabang or white beach? thanks:)

Posted: Tue February 12, 2008 05:56 PM UTC
Hi people,
Has anyone stayed at The El Galeon Beach Resort?
We're looking at a 14 night stay with diving every other day.
Does anyone have any idea of the hotel restaurant prices and any feedback would be greatly appreciated so we can work out a budget.
Any general comments on PG would be appreciated as we've no idea what to expect.
Cheers as always.

Puerto Galera Where to stay and How best to get a room
Posted: Sun February 10, 2008 06:59 PM UTC
I'm arriving in Manila tomorrow and after a day or two will go to PG. I think I know how to get there, but looking for a little bit of other help...

Is White Beach the best "home base" for low prices, snorkeling, relaxing and a little bit of night life? or is Sabang better? or...?

If I take a boat directly to White Beach, will there be people (touts) there when I get off looking for guests and will I get a good price on a room that way? Will I be able to find/get a room the day I arrive?

Any recommendations for a hut on/near the beach for 1000 pesos or less (just need a clean room, bed and a shower/toilet)? Hope it is kind of cute with ok surroundings/view.

What else should I do on the island (hike, waterfall, rent a scooter, other excursions)?

Thanks for the help.

Puerto Galera FERRY SCHEDULE. HELP!!!!!!
Posted: Wed January 30, 2008 02:13 PM UTC
Hi, I will be in Puerto Galera for few days this April then going back to Manila to take a 12.45pm flight on the same day. I understand that the journey from Puerto Galera to Batangas Pier is around 1 to 2 hours whilst the journey between Batangas City to Manila will take another 2 to 3 hours. That's why I need to take the earliest ferry out from Puerto Galera. Can anyone let me know what is the schedule of the ferries? What time is the earliest ferry? Which pier are they using now for all the ferries in and out from Puerto Galera?

Thank you.

Hello,

I finally made temporary reservation in Tamaraw Beach resort, thank goodness they can hold the rooms until I get to PI from U.S. Anyway, maybe this is another crack at second opinion!...Anybody been to Tamaraw Beach or the resort? Do they have a nice beach area for kids? How about the resort itself?
thanks!

Puerto Galera Reservations or walk up?
Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 05:59 PM UTC
Hello all,
For the people who had stayed in P.G. for a few times, is it smarter to just walk up to resorts when u get there or reserve them in advance. Reason I ask is that I called 3 well-known resorts and they need at least 75% cash down to reserve the room--- u can't use credit card. Usually hotels accept credit card to protect consumers, just in case u need to cancel.
So again, I feel that it's dangerous to put that kind of money and loose it if the weather goes bad or for some other reasons.
On the month of march (early), how is the availability around the area? You think there will be enough resorts available to just walk up to?
thank you.

Puerto Galera Puerto Galera General.
Posted: Tue November 13, 2007 10:25 AM UTC
Hi,we would really appreciate some guidance. Until we learned that there wasn't much available by way of small sailing boats to rent we were planning to stay in Panglao. However, after some research we think we may be better off focussing on Puerto Galeras area..Very interested to learn details of how to get there from Caticlan and locate "inexpensive accomodation" with pool and day sailing boat rental - late Jan early Feb.
We are a family of 3 (our 13 yr old can share our room). A Certificated Yachtmaster (British RYA)we do not require crew for the sailing bit. It will be our first trip there so any tips/info very much appreciated.
Can reply direct to galloconnect@hotmail.com

Much appreciated

Thanks - John
