Hi there, I'm heading off to travel around Spain in May in my motorhome. I'm planning on staying there for a few months during the summer and then seeing where I end up after that!
Does anyone have any experience, suggestions or advice about working the markets down there? I'd be selling non food items, personalised gifts etc, so would need to be in markets that had a good flow of tourists going through them. My gifts would all be under £10 GBP, so nowhere exclusive or posh!
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!
P.S. The travel map is hard work on here isn't it...I gave up in the end lol

Hello All
Thank you again for all the wonderful advise I received for Bangkok. As a result I really got to see so much and another side of Bangkok.
And I am on route again and appreciate your recommendations.
I will be in Barcelona for 3 days in April over Easter.
What is the most central, but safe area to stay in for 2 females
Do you recommend Hotels/Bed & Breakfast
And what are the absolute must see for such a short stay.

Does anyone have any idea who owns the beach loungers and toilet facilities on the beach? I understand you havee to pay for the pleasure of using both. Is it run by the local authority or private owners who run these?

Hi, I will travel to Spain this month. Is there any restriction on using credit cards issued outside of Spain ? For example I could not use my visa card on the Renfe site since it is not Verified by Visa (I am a Dubai resindent and banks are not participating in Verified by Visa). Hence do normal credit cards work in Spain ? Thanks

We are taking the AVE train from Madrid to Barcelona with a stop in Zaragoza. Does anyone know the configuration of the seats in the Preferente or Club class? We are looking for single row, 2 seats facing each other by the window similar to TGV's first class from Paris to Lourdes.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,I will be traveling with my 6 yr old son to Toledo in 2 weeks time. I hear that Toledo is hilly but best covered on foot. However, my son may get tired. Is public transport / taxi available to go to the main attractions ? Are the taxis very expensive ? Thanks

Hi, I am from Dubai and am not able to book tickets online since the banks here don't offer "Verified by Visa" or "Mastercard Secure" programs. I will travel to Seville from Madrid and also later on Barcelona to Madrid. Is it advisable to always buy tickets in advance (generally how many days) ? Also, are the queues generally very long at the Madrid Atocha station ? Many thanks

it looks like flying is cheaper since you can get it for < $100 usd but ave train seems alot more convenient and faster if you factor in the time to/from airport, going thru security etc..
The ave train is 86 EUR each way. but on renfe website they have this..
"The discount is 20% for all AVE–Larga Distancia trains.
The offer is compatible with Media Distancia trains, except Avant trains with Ave and Conventional Media Distancia with AVE trains, in which case the conditions of sale that each operator establishes will apply."
Does the 20% discount apply for madrid->seville?
How do you get this discount? (I am from the U.S.)

Hi
I went on holiday with my parents in October 1981 and trying to locate the hotel we stayed in. Unfortunately i can't remember very much. The hotel was on the right hand side as you walked up the road it was on and I'm sure there was a bend in the road. The hotel had a sister hotel on the left hand side of the road and they were joined under the road - food for the meals was brought from the sister hotel to where we were. Shortly before we went there the hotel got some bad press in the news. Can anyone suggest the name of the hotel ?
Many thanks

We are travelling in march for 10 days in spain. We have bought train tickets from Algeciras to Madrid on Altria Train. We wanted to board the train from Ronda as the same train (for which i have the tickets from algeciras to madrid) stops at Ronda while going to Madrid. Can we board the train in Ronda and just sit at the place where my ticket says to board at Algeciras Or would this be un-Spanish and perhaps illegal? The English version of the renfe website is not very comprehensive and keeps reverting back to Spanish.

While looking over the titsa.com website, for possible useful bus routes in Tenerife, I think I might have found a misprint. Can anyone tell me for sure?
It's the 342 El Portillo - Playa las Americas service.
There is only one to El Portillo and back a day but they have the time coming back as 13.00 whereas Google maps say 15.15
I know that Google must have it right as people need time to look around but was unable to email the bus company 'titsa' from their website to ask.
We hope to catching this bus at Los Cristianos and take it as far as Boca Tauce, for a walk around, unless anyone tells me any better. (don't want to take the cable car up Teide)

I will be landing in Barcelona and was wondering if it is worth renting a car and driving to Denia. Is there anything interesting to see or do on the way? Also how is driving there?
We will be flying out of Alicante. How far is Denia to Alicante? Should we keep the car parked for 2 days while at a wedding or return it?

I've been to Barcelona a few times. First time we stayed in the Arts hotel, and next two times I dont recall the place off Plaza de Catalunya.
At this time I am cross-eyed of looking at tripadvisor.com - so I wonder if anyone has some great experiences with a hotel - the 'requirements' are:
- had a great free breakfast
- very clean - really very clean
- bed cannot be like a rock
- preferably good access to airport bus - prefer no metro
Thanks.

My wife and I (both in out mid 60's and from the USA) have booked a flight to Madrid in late April for a one week stay. We have also booked a hotel in the center of Madrid, on the Puerta del Sol. We are hoping to enjoy Madrid and also take a few day trips to other towns of interest such as Toledo. We are trying to prepare for our visit so as to get as much out of it as possible. We have already decided to take a taxi from the airport to our hotel. We can't figure out whether or not a City Tourist Card would be useful to purchase. These cards seem to be by zone, but I am not sure which is the best zone to cover, if we decide to purchase one. Do they cover the metro tickets also or not? Any suggestions/recommendations for our Madrid visit would be greatly appreciated, especially places to visit, restaurants to eat in, and any other useful information. We are really excited about going tapas bars but somewhat scared of not knowing what to ask for!

Thank you very much to rexvaughan, stevemt, Redang, DaveG0906, hawkhead and Homanded for your very quick and helpful replies to my posted question. I was pleased to see that you were all unanimous in your recommendation to do the Toledo trip on our own, rather than with a tour group. We will certainly follow your suggestion and had already started on gathering maps and information to help us with this visit.

My wife and I are going to Madrid in late April for a one week stay. We would like to take a day trip to Toledo with a reputable tour company. Does anyone have a recommendation for which tour/company to go with? Also, considering the time of the year for our trip, do we need to book the trip before arriving in Madrid or can we make the arrangements when we get to our hotel (in the center of the town; on the Puerta del Sol)? We are very excited about our upcoming vacation to Spain. Your responses would be greatly appreciated. Also, any other recommended day trips from Madrid, as well as any tips for our stay in Madrid, would be very welcome.

Hi,
has any one heard of a charmingsuites.com IL apartments in Barcelona? I am going to be celebrating my anniversary next month and will be in Barcelona from the 20th to the 25th. Any suggestions on where we should put up? I suppose anything around La Ramblas should be a good option from what I have read, but if you have suggestions please do let me know.

Hi,
Three of us are visiting for our first time and are staying in Ibiza. We are looking for a listing of events, parties, great restaurants, site seeing, etc. We are in our late 20's - mid 30's and love to dance, party and also enjoy art and history. Pretty much we are ready for anything & everything :)

Hi! I am new, but love this and hope someone can help with my question! We will be traveling in Spain at the end of May and likely will be in Barcelona over the Pentecost weekend (May 26-28). What happens in Barcelona over this weekend? Will most things be closed? What should we know if we are there during this time? Thanks!

Hello - I am flying into Barcelona and wondered what was the best way to get to our Hotel (Europark) which is near the Passeig de Gracia and Girona stations. I had considered the metro, but it seems to require a change.
Does the Aerobus service from the airport, stop near Passeig de Gracia or Girona Stations? If not, how far is the Europark from Placa Catalunya? (where the bus terminates)
Thanks

How easy is it to get a bus from Algeciras to Tarifa, for a ferry to Tangier, on a Saturday morning? Hoping to stay in a hotel after arriving by train.
And can anyone recommend a website for hotels in Algeciras (or a hotel)
Thank you very much
