| Sevilla | Train from Sevilla to Cazalla y Constantina Posted: Sat May 17, 2008 04:22 AM UTC
Hello once again. When I look at the timetable on renfe.es cercanìas it shows a train from Sevilla to Cazalla y Constantina. But, when I try to purchase a ticket from Sevilla Santa Justa to Cazalla, Cazalla doesn't show in the drop down menu. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help?
Thank you!!! |

| Andalucía | Train from Granada to Sevilla Posted: Sat May 17, 2008 03:51 AM UTC
Hello guys! I'm trying to do a little planning for my trip in September and I'm going through the RENFE site. I know that you can't book a ticket outside the 62-day window but for some reason when I input a date in June, the website is telling me there aren't trains from Granada to Sevilla in June!?!?! I've read some of the posts on here and most of you have said how beautiful the train ride is so i KNOW there is a train. Also, if I put a date in May, it gives me a schedule. Is this a problem with the site?
When I went to Toledo from Madrid, I thought I could just buy a ticket when I got to the Atocha station but I found out that the seats were sold out. I had to wait until the next day to go. I don't want this to happen so I'm trying to buy my ticket soonest. Speaking of which, do the trains fill up pretty quickly in late September? Once again, thanks guys!!! |

| Lloret de Mar | Vegetarian restaurants Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 09:19 PM UTC
Going to Lloret da Mar for 6 days, will be staying in "Oasis Park".
Need recommendation on restaurants, preferably not far from the hotel, for vegetarian person. Doesn't have to be vegetarian only, could be regular with decent vegetarian dishes but not over-priced tourist trap. Will be grateful for advise. |

| Barcelona | Pay for room/aparment rather than paying per person? Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 01:04 PM UTC
Hi :o)
It's gonna be 5 of us going to Barcelona and then onto our pilgrimage to Lourdes (we are offering this pilgrimage for our sick friend who is dying of cancer). We will be in Spain/France from June 8th until June 16th. We are all students with a very tight budget. I was wondering if there is a way to rent a room/apartment for a few days in Barcelona without having to pay for it per person (as in - pay for a room with say 2 beds and the rest of us sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor). My other question is - what is the best way to travel from Barcelona to Lourdes? I figured a train with a group discount might work but we are unable to find the cost of the train journey from here (on the web). If anyone takes the train to work (in Barcelona) - any chance you could ask how much is the group ticket from Barcelona to Lourdes (France) and back? Thank you so much for your answers, Jan |

| Barcelona | I need help Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 09:09 AM UTC
HAS ANYONE STAYED AT THE BARCELONA DREAM HOSTEL?
IT LOOKS TO BE OUTSIDE OF THE CITY? AND I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS TOO FAR. I AM LOOKING FOR A PLACE FOR A COUPLE, WE ARE USING THE TRAIN TO GET THERE FROM FRANCE. SO IF IT IS HARD TO USE THE METRO MAY BE THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR US. WOULD THERE BE AN EASY ROUTE ON THE METRO TO GO RIGHT DOWN TOWN? I DO NOT MIND THE TIME (30MIN) BUT CHANGING TRAINS MAY BE TOO MUCH FOR MY FIRST TIME. THANK YOU.. |

| Barcelona | Barcelona in a day?? Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 06:33 AM UTC
Hi everyone! I will be in Portugal this September and was thinking of making a day trip to Barcelona. All I really want to see is Las Ramblas and the Sagrada Familia. Is this realistic to do in the one day? I will probably arrive the night before to experience the Barcelona nightlife and maybe leave the next night.

| Isla de Tenerife | La Boca Retaurant - Playa De Las Americas Posted: Fri May 16, 2008 01:15 AM UTC
Does anyone who has been to Playa in the last couple of months know if the La Boca English Restaurant is still there? It is situated just around the corner from Las Pirimedes Hotel & is a very busy restaurant.
Most importantly. if it is still there, do the 2 PR people still work there? One was a chap with long hair and the other was a young girl, probably around 23-25 years old. Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks. |

| Andalucía | Driving rules Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 10:28 AM UTC
Hello all,
I've been reading up on the rules of the road in Spain. We'll be staying in Nerja for a month and wanted to know the rules before we go. I've read that when we go to a small town there is a sensor outside of town that detects if you are driving too fast and if so, the light turns red so you have to stop. Can someone please confirm this and explain a little more? My husband and I have more questions but we won't bombard you with all of them at once. thanks in advance Jandar |

| Catalunya | PLEASE LOOK THOROUGHLY AT THE PHOTO Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 03:30 PM UTC
Hi:
I am from Barcelona and occasionally reply to questions posted by people who want to visit my city. In this case it is me who will ask the question and expect to get answers from people living abroad. Pls copy the following link and paste it to your Browser. http://static.flickr.com/7/8556625_e54512d15b.jpg Even if it looks Mexico, it is Barcelona and those wearing the sombreros are foreign tourists. Why do you think this people buy and wear those horrible souvenirs? Is it because in American movies they cannot tell apart Mexico from Spain, like in the Zorro? Do they think they are typical of here? I am interested in reading different opinions about it. |

| Malgrat de Mar | Bus from Girona Airport to Malgrat de Mar Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 10:29 AM UTC
We are arriving for a holiday on 24 June 2008 (San Juan). I believe this is a public holiday so will the buses be running as usual or will we have to make alternative arrangements? Our flight will be landing at 16.25.
If the buses are running normally, can anyone tell me how far it is from the bus station to Quintasol hotel (Passieg Maritim) and directions from the bus station if possible please? Is it too far to walk or should we get a taxi? Not been to this resort before and really looking forward to it so any advise/suggestions at all would be gratefully received. Thanks |

| Málaga | Family trip to Costa del Sol at Benalmadena Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 05:00 AM UTC
We are a family of four (including 2 teenagers) from Singapore visiting Spain in early Dec08.
We have booked an apartment at Costa del Sol at Benalmadena (Pueblo Evita) for a week and hope to visit Seville, Granada, Cordoba or Tangier during that week. Would you advise that we rent a car to make day trips to the above places during our stay? Or would it be better for us to book separate day tours to the above places? We also intend to book an apartment in Barcelona for a week and make day trips from there. Again, should we rent a car or just book day tours? Would be grateful for any advice to help us in our planning. |

| Madrid | Do I need to be fluent in Spanish? Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 10:13 PM UTC
So I'm going to Madrid and Granada in September for a vacation and from what I've been reading it seems as if being fluent in Spanish is a necessity for a pleasant experience. I took spanish in High School for 3 years but, as with most High School classes, didn't retain much of what I learned. If it is, indeed, a necessity I'd like to start brushing up now. Any advice from people who live there or have been there themselves would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
