Taxi or mini bus in Akureyri

Arriving there by cruise ship on 7th August 2009

Are there taxis or mini buses at the docks?

There are 7 of us and want to hire a mini bus for the day to go to Myvatn and Namaskard

Anywhere else worth visiting?

hi--visiting akureyi on cruise ship--there 7am to 4pm--how can we see myvatn and godafoss on our own--ship trips so expensive--we also visit grundarfjordur, isafjordur, seydisfjordur and reykjavik , so i'd welcome anny don't miss suggestions, since we'll have 7 or so hours in each port--thanks--pammywb

One day in Akureyri off a cruise ship in August

Would you suggest a tour to Myvatn area or a day in the city with 7AM to 3Pm the time available? Also, is the town close to the port so walking is possible? If not, what means of transportation are available? Thanks.

Akureyri nightlife

I will be traveling to Akureyri this summer for the first time. I will be there in late July, for a Wednesday and Thursday night. I was wondering if anyone could recommend bars/clubs that might have people on those midweek nights. I have been to Reykjavik before. Will young people in Akureyri speak English, like people in Reykjavik (we never had a problem with language there)? Thanks very much.
