Kuala Lumpur Visa on arrival
Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 04:45 AM UTC
I am an Indian passport holder. I am planning to fly to KL and apply for VOA, then visit Singapore for 3-4 days and then come back to KL by bus then stay in KL for a couple of days, then fly back to India.

Is it true that if you take a bus for Singapore - KL, you can get a VOA only if the bus comes through the second link and not through JB. Also, will they give me a VOA twice within a week if I have confirmed return tickets and visa for Singapore.

Thanks

Kuala Lumpur KL - Sing bus
Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 10:56 AM UTC
1. I maybe staying with a relative in Mont Kiara in KL. I believe only Odyssey has a bus from there to Sing. Any reviews on their service would be welcome.

2. Are there any buses with toilets on board? My kid is 8 yrs. old and I myself would feel comfortable with this facility. Which other buses would recommend.

3. What happens if there is a big queue at the border and I miss the bus. Does our bus wait or do we take the next bus. In that case, do we have to wait for a bus from the same company and what if that bus is full? Also, I am using the Visa on arrival on arriving at KL. I have a multiple entry visa for Sing. Can I go to Sing. and come back in 3 days and use the Visa on arrival in Malaysia again?

4. Finally, any budget airlines that I can take. I realise the time taken is the same, but I would be a lot more comfortable.

Kuala Lumpur Putrajaya
Posted: Thu May 8, 2008 01:14 AM UTC
Hi

I need some info here, I have a colleague who is going to attend three days training in Putrajaya. Is there a cheap hotel or motel which is nearer to Putrajaya? I've heard that there is a train which stops at Putrajaya and then further to KLIA, is this correct? If so what is the name of the train service?

I appreciated any valuable information or suggestions.

I am organising a full day trip from KL to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Orphanage Sactuary with the Elephant Man - http://www.myelephants.org/ecotourism.html.

This involves hiring a van, driver and the Elephant Man as our guide. As there are only three passengers in my little group there are extra seats available if anyone is interested in joining us.

The dates are negotiable between the 9th and 17th July 2008. Please contact me for further details if you are interested in this excursion.

Kuala Lumpur Affordable central 3 Stars hotel, things to do/and recommended affordable restaurants.
Posted: Wed May 7, 2008 04:57 AM UTC
First week of June I will be taking my wife to KL and to Singapore. Sometime two years ago we had joined a VT meeting here in Barcelona and we really had a great time meeting Malaysian people visiting Barcelona. So, now that we will be visiting Kuala Lumpur we hope to meet with some VT'ers and perhaps they can give us also local traveling tips, things "MUST VISIT", THE DO'S AND DO NOT DO'S...and places where not to stay and recommendable places to eat and do a bit of shopping. At the moment, we have not started searching for our accommodation as we heard there are ample of affordable, decent, clean and centrally located hotels to stay. Anyone out there that wishes to meet with us during our 4 days stay we will be happy to meet with you guys! Many thanks to all and we are looking forward and very much forward to our up coming Asian holiday! Cheers to all!

Need to visit relatives near the Orang Asli bungalows in Damansara Perdana next year for two weeks. Any ideas on hotels or holiday-let condos within walking distance in that area?

I understand there are no LRT or monorail stations in that area. I have had very bad experiences with taxis in KL therein the query for "walking distance"!! Any suggestions for bus routes will also be very appreciated.

I am flying in to KL to the LCCTerminal at 4.30am. I am flying out from the same terminal at about 11am. Is the most sensible thing to do to go to the short stay hotel in the KLIA terminal or is there a better solution.

Kuala Lumpur Chettinaadu house around Jalan Masjid India
Posted: Fri May 2, 2008 04:34 AM UTC
I have another favor to ask... when I visited Kuala Lumpur in 2002, I was taken to this chetti naadu restaurant. I wouldn't quite say as it is a restaurant, it is more like a house serving ghee smelling masala thosai. Could anyone tell me where this place is located?
My family is planning to visit KL in September and I would like to take my husband to taste the traditional south Indian Cuisine.

Kuala Lumpur kL hotel

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a cheapish hotel near transport? It is for 1 and a half weeks time for 3 nights, for single female. I dont mind sharing bathroom, as long as place is safe, has aircon and not on any hills and near transport.

Thanks....
