Eilat Travel from Sharm El Sheikh to Eilat
Posted: Wed October 21, 2009 12:18 AM UTC
Hi all,

I am planning a trip at the end of November and am trying to organize how to travel from Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt to Eilat. Could you please let me know what are our options for travel (flights, bus, taxi) are? How long would it take and what would be the approximate cost?

Also, we are then planning to spend 1 night in Eilat and then travel to Tel Aviv. What would be our options for travel with this route?

I would appreciate any suggestions that you can provide.

Thanks,
Kate

Eilat Eilat in July
Posted: Tue February 10, 2009 08:51 PM UTC
We're going to Israel for our son's Bar Mitzvah this summer, spending about 12 days there, the last of them in Eilat. Our Eilat stay includes a side trip to Petra (by plane) and I suspect some people won't want to go. I'd like for the three days at the beach to be relaxing. Will the heat make that impossible?

Eilat Travel to Cairo by car?
Posted: Sat December 20, 2008 05:01 PM UTC
My wife and two teenagers and I plan to use a tour group based in Cairo (TourPlanIsrael) who advertise a private car trip through the Sinai to Cairo.

Is anyone familiar with this? Is it safe? The price sure beats flying and there is some alure to me of driving through the Sinai. Plus we can stop at Mt. Sinai on the way back.

Any ideas about this?

Eilat To book ahead or not????
Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 03:19 PM UTC
Hi all. I'm new to this so bear with me:) I'm travelling to Israel on 16th Aug (from Ireland) to visit my brother who lives above Haifa. Whilst there myself and my boyfriend are hoping to travel to Eilat for three or four days. We were going to book accomodation via internet before we go but my brother reckons it will be cheaper if we hold off until we reach Eilat. I've just noticed, however, that there's a jazz festival on around the time we were planning on staying in Eilat. Would people recommend that we do find somewhere and book it or should we do as my brother says and wait until we get there??

Also, if anyone can recommend some inexpensive but clean places to stay in Eilat, i'd be much obliged.

Thanks all!!

Eilat Cheap Summer Non-Vacation Rental in Eilat
Posted: Sun March 16, 2008 05:23 PM UTC
I am a student at Virginia Tech, a college in America. I am coming to Eilat for two months this summer to work at an unpaid internship. Where can I find extremely cheap housing/apartment/room to rent for two months that is NOT a holiday or vacation rental? I have to pay for this on my own. The place to stay could even be outside of Eilat but near the city.

I need all help I can receive! Thank you!

Eilat Eilat in January
Posted: Thu December 20, 2007 01:11 PM UTC
To escape from the gruesome weather in Belgium, I'm considering spending about 10 days in Eilat. Is it a good place to be beginning of January? I mean, is there enough to do for some active people in their twenties if you can't lay on the beach all day?

Thanks in advance!

Eilat 10 day trip to Israel
Posted: Sun October 14, 2007 12:31 AM UTC
I have 10 days in Israel in November and would like to see the north Haifa area, some time in Jerusalem, Dead Sea & then down to Eilat to cross into Jordan to Petra. I am intending to use a hire car except the for visit to Petra, I;ve read some good advice about that on this site. Am I being too ambitious with the driving? Is it realistic to see all this in 10 days or should I give either the north or Eilat/Petra a miss? would it be best to spend a friday/saturday in Jerusalem rather than in the north?

Eilat Flight from Dead Sea to Eilat
Posted: Thu October 11, 2007 01:53 PM UTC
Hi there! Is there a flight option from the Dead Sea to Eilat or do I have to go back to Tel Aviv to fly to Eilat?

I'm planning a trip in January 08 where we'll rent a car for the whole trip, although from the Dead Sea to Eilat I think there's too much driving and prefer to fly there. Am I right? So, now I'm mixing things up :((

question 1: flight option from the Dead Sea to Eilat?

question 2: is it safe and/or worth it to drive from the Dead Sea to Eilat?

thanks a lot for your help and sorry for my ignorance!

how to get pictures of the area of Eilat for holidays with bike for touring. Best would be a topographical map with ways for bicycles and streets. Info about Simple guest houses would be useful also.

Eilat Eilat to Cairo....
Posted: Sat June 9, 2007 10:10 AM UTC
I am about to go to Eilat for a few days from Tel Aviv, and am interested in taking a 2-3 day excursion to Cairo, to see the pyramids. I am told that you can take a txi to Cairo from Tel Aviv, can you do the same from Eilat?

If I get a visa in the consulate, will I have problems entering at Taba, if I am an American Citizen?

Eilat Recommended period for trip to Eilat
Posted: Thu April 12, 2007 05:19 PM UTC
Hello, I am planning a trip to Eilat and I would like to ask your advice regarding the optimal period to be there.
I mean to avoid the super hot period (I saw on the net max 47 degrees in August !) but warm enough on the other side to stay on the beach and take a bath in the sea (I don't like swimming pools much when the sea is nearby). I saw some posts here that the Red Sea temperatures are not so high (about 20 degrees C) - is this valid also during the summer ?

Thank you,

Mihai
