Tours??? Posted: Tue August 12, 2008 11:55 AM UTC
I am visting my brother in Haifa in september with my fiancee. We want to take a one day tour from Haifa to Jerusalem in English, is this offered by anyone??? Or do we have to go to Jerusalem first and then start the tour from there?
Also we went to visit Eilat. What is the best way to get to Eliat from Haifa? Should we take the bus? Should we take the train to Tel Aviv and then hop a flight to Eilat?
Finally we want to visit Petra at some point for a day. What is the best way to get to Petra from Haifa?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. This will be very helpful in planning a perfect trip!

Arriving by boat to Haifa Posted: Sun April 20, 2008 02:10 PM UTC
Years go, I arrived from Athens to Haifa by boat. It was such a beautiful way to begin my trip. I would like to do something similar with my family but I understand there are no more boats from Greece. What other ports are there?
Thanks for your help

Bahai Gardens tour in Haifa Posted: Wed November 7, 2007 10:53 PM UTC
Shalom! how are you all?
I have a question regarding the "famous" guided tour of the Gardens. I read in the VT forum and in others that you *had* to make reservations for a tour and just for one area and well in advance.
Now I'm at http://www.tour-haifa.co.il/eng/modules/article/view.article.php/c14/59/p0 and they say, I quote: "It is possible to visit three areas of the Bahai Gardens without making an appointment" and that "if you want you can take part in a guided tour...".
So now I see there's no such "obligation" in hiring a tour, which I thought there was. Is this so? One can go and visit the gardens all alone?
thanks a lot, kind regards

"Golf" store in Haifa Posted: Thu October 25, 2007 12:11 AM UTC
Hello,
I used to live in Haifa, more than 10 years ago.
There used to be a store named "Golf" with nice clothes ...
Does that store still exists? Do they have a website? I would really like to be able to buy something online from them.
Thanks in advance!

I need your help... Posted: Tue February 7, 2006 03:57 AM UTC
Hi guys,
I got a job offer to work with a NGO in Haifa, and I would like to know how much you need to live over there.
My job will provide me with accommodation (all expenses paid), health cover and around US$ 400 just for my own expenditure.
Do you think that its enough?
Please feel free to send me any comment. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thanks a lot!

Drive to and in Haifa Posted: Tue December 20, 2005 01:46 AM UTC
I plan to go to Haifa from the Dead Sea by car. My options are several. But if I rent a car inn Jerusalem and drive to the Dead Sea (Msada) in the morning and drive back to Tel Aviv and then Haifa late in the day. Would that be a good idea? Also, I heard that Haifa is a difficult place to drive around and orient oneself. We are not familiar with Haifa at all. Would it be hard to find a street?

Coming from Boston to study at Haifa University Posted: Wed November 16, 2005 02:56 AM UTC
Hello all, I am a 20yr old female moving to Haifa to study beginning January 2,2006. I will be there for a while and I was wondering what I should pack, where I should eat, how I should travel from the Tel-Aviv airport, what should I prepare myself for, and what are some must-do's and must don'ts. Basically, I don't know anyone or anything in Haifa, so I am happily taking a blind step forward. I appreciate all the help and advice I can get.

haifa-tiberias Posted: Sat October 22, 2005 08:55 AM UTC
Can anyone help me?
How do you get from Haifa to Tiberias by public transport? I went to see the egged.co.il but I could not find any connections. Which one is the main bus station name on the egged.co.il list from all the names starting with haifa? Is it possible that there are no buses?
Are there sheruts maybe?

Haifa...nightlife, culture?? Where is it? Posted: Sun October 2, 2005 03:55 PM UTC
Hi, I'm a 29 yr old single english male who has been offered a position outside of Haifa.
I am currently living in tel aviv. I recently went to haifa to see what it was like and whether I could live there, and I found it very very quiet.
I went to Merkz Carmel and I think I counted 4/5 bars/pubs. Not very much. OK, I won't be going out every night and there's only so many bars/ pubs you need but there seems to be very little energy/ excitement expecially for single people in their late 20's.
A few people have told me that there are more cafe's bars in Hadar and the German Colony is this true? Are there young israelis who go out? Or are they all studying really hard at the Technion??
