Sheraton City Tower Hotel to Rosh Haayin Posted: Wed September 2, 2009 11:26 AM UTC
Hi There,
I'm travelling to Israel on Business in a couple of weeks and will be working in Rosh Haayin. The last time I was in Israel I stayed in Herzliya in the Sharon Hotel as this area seemed the most convenient for Rosh Haayin. However, the Sharon Hotel wasn't very good and I do not want to stay there again and I'd like to stay closer to Tel Aviv so could someone please tell me approx how long it would take to travel by car from The Sheraton City Tower Hotel (in the Diamond Exchange area not the one on the beach).
Thanks!

Hotel Eilat Posted: Tue September 1, 2009 03:17 PM UTC
I want to stay at Tel Aviv for three nights with a group of six man.
As we travel on low-budget, we´re lookong for a cheap hotel.
Hotel Eilat, Hayakon 58, has a nice price, but on their website I read, that you can rent a room not only per night, but also per hour.
This irritates me, as in Germany this would often mean, professional woman would offer their services there.
Does anyone know thoi hotel or can tell me, if a rent per hour ist totally normal in Israel?
Thanks for answer!!

Three night stay in or near Jaffa/Tel Aviv border Posted: Sun July 12, 2009 07:35 PM UTC
In mid November I'd like to stay three nights in the Jaffa/Tel Aviv area
near the Opera Tower. If I can't make reservations in the Old Jaffa Hostel,
do you have a recommendation for a clean, quiet, place with a kitchenette
in the room?

Hotel Advice Posted: Wed July 8, 2009 09:04 PM UTC
Hi There,
I'm travelling to Israel next week to work for a few days and my company have booked me into the Sharon Hotel in Herzliya. All I have heard and read about this hotel are very bad things so I'm a bit put off staying here. Also the pictures that of it that people have put online don't show it in a very good light! I will be working in the town of Rosh Haayin.
Can someone please advise me about hotels, has the Sharon hotel improved or would I be better off staying in a different hotel. If so what hotels would be recommended. I'm not working in Tel Aviv but don't mind a 45min drive to work.
Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks,
Lauren

Tel Aviv on the Sabbath Posted: Fri June 26, 2009 10:18 PM UTC
We're going to be in Tel Aviv on a Friday until Saturday. Will everything in the city be closed? Does public transportation close down? Will I be able to find restaurants and shops that are open. We will be staying at the Dan Panorama Hotel. I would like to be able to pick up some gifts while I'm there. I don't want to spend the time in my hotel.
Thanks

how to get Tiberias/Galilee Posted: Wed June 17, 2009 12:15 PM UTC
Hello,
We will go to Israel next week and plan to go to Tiberias/Galilee and visit Caesarea, Haifa, Acre, Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, etc.. Maybe it will take 2-3 days. We are not sure if we can take this trip by ourselves. Which way is better? By train? rent car? Or join a group tour?
Is it safe to drive for foreigner?
Thank you in advance:)

Which hostel location is better? Posted: Fri April 10, 2009 08:38 AM UTC
Hello my good friends at VT!. I need to find a good well located hostel in Tel Aviv. I came across two I like:
The Gordon Inn and The Old Jaffa Hostel. I was looking for something more centrally located with shops, people, beach, restauraunt, markets, downtown, the centre of the city. The gordon Inn seems to be the best although the Old Jaffa Hostel seems to have a very nice mystique about it but seems to be far away from the centre of the city on Amiad street?.
Let me know your thoughts...Jaffa seems nice but far from the downtown

Tel Aviv in April? Weather and Passover? Posted: Fri March 6, 2009 11:54 AM UTC
Hi,
I am planning a trip to TA, between 3-16 April. Is the weather warm enough at this time of year? My wife likes hot weather! Also what is the country like at Passoevr? Will it be difficult to book accommodation? Will Tiberias, Jerusalem and all the other touristy places be very busy?
Would it be better to come in May? (In May, I can only come for 9 days)
Thanks very much,
Rhonsie

Appropriate clothing? Posted: Tue March 3, 2009 10:00 PM UTC
I have searched the forums and can't find anything on dressing appropriately for the mosques, churches, etc. that our tour group will visit in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and other places in Israel. Is there a guideline for men and women? Is a calf-length skirt long enough? Should we plan on long sleeves or just when in the churches, etc?
(We leave in one week)
Thank you for any advice.

Entering Israel. Posted: Thu February 26, 2009 06:24 AM UTC
Hello, I have a quick question. I am hoping to spend 3weeks in israel, 10days in Haifa on a religious pilgrimage and the other 11 days at the Walk for Love Hike throughout israel. I've been told that when i get to the airport and i show them my invitation for my religious pilgrimage..that my stay in israel is only valid for those 10days..im not allowed to stay any longer before or after. Is this true?, because for the hike i have no invitation i just wanted to go. Im just a little worried because I hear how strict they are when you get to the airport.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!.

I want to buy Olive wood in Tel Aviv Posted: Sun February 22, 2009 07:37 PM UTC
Where can I buy Olive wood while in Tel Aviv? This is the same wood the vendors use to make religous items, however I want to make them out of the same wood. If someone could provide an address in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem where I could go and buy the raw wood, that would be great!
Thanks!

Suggestions for day trip? Posted: Fri September 5, 2008 11:53 PM UTC
We (seniors) will be arriving In Tel Aviv 2 days earlier than a 2 wk tour we have scheduled (in mid March). We have will be visiting the normal 'tourist' spots with the tour so would like a couple suggestions for our 2 days.
Is a day trip to Acco/Acre/Akko do-able? (Are they the same?)
Does anyone have another suggestion? (we are not beach people so that is not an option.)
