Tel Aviv-Yafo Religious Beach Hours
Posted: Sun March 23, 2008 05:10 AM UTC
Does anyone know if the religious beach is open (with lifeguards) in April at all if the weather gets very warm? I had a very nice time there last June and will be in Israel again the first week of April and would like to go, but I can't seem to find any information on whether they're open at that time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

me and my friends, we are german volunteers and huge fans of the show. I'd love to see this live and we're looking for a place to watch (this is connected to my hopes that it is shown on israeli tv).

Tel Aviv-Yafo Looking for room in TA
Posted: Fri January 25, 2008 02:18 PM UTC
Hello there!

As I will be undertaking an internship in Tel Aviv, I'm looking for a single room/shared flat to rent from mid February through August. If you’re seeking a flatmate or know about a rather central and not too expensive place to sublet (roughly around USD 500 per month), please contact me via VirtualTourist or email me under princess.shishi@gmail.com

Your help is very much appreciated :)
Shalom & best wishes from Vienna!

Tel Aviv-Yafo A nice impression of Tel Aviv in just a few hours
Posted: Sat January 19, 2008 05:35 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm coming to Israel for a Baha'i pilgrimage on February 3rd. I'm arriving in the afternoon (4:30 PM I think) and don't have to be in Haifa before 11 PM. So since my hostel in Haifa is close to a train station, I thought of taking the train to the centre of Tel Aviv (Merkez?) and get off there, lock up my luggage somewhere and explore Tel Aviv a bit before taking the train to Haifa.
Anyway, I'd be really grateful for some advise or even some company! I hope getting out of the airport won't take long (in spite of my Iranian / German origin :). I'd love to see the beach maybe or have a nice lunch or visit hip places like Sheinkin Street or Neve Zedek ...
So my questions would be:
- is there any luggage disposal at the train station?
- what should i do considering the limited time and how do i get there?
- what's the weather like in February?
Please consider that I'm a student travelling on a low budget.

Thanks a lot! I hope to hear from you!

Tel Aviv-Yafo One day trip to Petra
Posted: Sat January 5, 2008 02:10 PM UTC
I was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for a one day trip to Petra either from Tel Aviv or from Eilat. I am confused because there are so many options on the internet. Would it be better to purchase from israir airline package or Airkia airline package or would it be better to go to eilat first and take a tour from there? Also, does anyone recommend a tour company with a good reputation? Thanks in advance for your reply. JIM

I will be landing in Ben Gurion Airport in May 2008 but the connecting flight that I need to get onto to Eilat leaves from Dov Hoz Airport. Both are in Tel Aviv but about 13 miles apart. What is the best way to get to Dov Hov from Ben Gurion at a reasonable cost in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks for any advise in advance JIM

Tel Aviv-Yafo New Years Eve
Posted: Fri December 7, 2007 12:30 AM UTC
Hi all..
I will be in Israel (Jerusalem actually) for New Years Eve. It has been suggested that I go to Tel-Aviv for New Years Eve. Does anyone have a suggestion for where to ring in 2008? I would be looking for a nicer bar/club. Somewhere the young professionals would frequent.

Thanks so much!

Tel Aviv-Yafo Taxi fare from airport?
Posted: Sat November 3, 2007 02:30 PM UTC
Hi.

Five of us will be arriving in Tel Aviv at 9pm on Tuesday (06/11).

Can anyone advise what the taxi fare from the airport to Hayarkon Street would be?

As we will need two cars I am trying to work out whether it will be cheaper to book a transfer in a larger vehicle?

Thanks in advance.

Tel Aviv-Yafo First time to israel....
Posted: Fri November 2, 2007 07:48 PM UTC
Sorry for bothering everybody. I'm going to Israel alone on 6th Nov 07 from Hong Kong and will arrive at Ben-Gurion airport at 22:00 LT. I'm planning to stay in Tel Aviv for two nights n then go to Jerusalem for 6 nights. Here are my questions regarding the journey:

1. I just found out that Bus 222 which travels from the airport to Tel Aviv is closed temporarily(out of my expectation). Is there any other bus going to Tel AViv??

2. If I'm going to take the train, which station should I stop? I will stay in Bell hotel which is located in Allenby St.

3. Which bus should I take to go to the Central Bus Station?

4. Is Bethlehem a safe to visit? I may go to Bethlehem from Jerusalem, is Arab bus 22 heading to Bethlehem directly?

5. In Jersualem I will stay in Jerusalem Inn Hotel which is located in Horkanos St. How long does it take to walk from hotel to the old city, say Jaffa Gate? Or if I take the bus, what route no?

6. What do u suggest to do on Friday night?

Sorry for so many questions but I hope u can understand my anxious.

How does one prepare for Rosh Hashana in Tel Aviv? I assume everything is closed beginning sundown Sept. 12, and stays closed until mozi Shabbos, Sept. 15. Is this correct? Can one make reservations at a hotel for meals only? Thanks.

Tel Aviv-Yafo Clay Dragon Puppets & CALIGVLA Sandals
Posted: Sun August 19, 2007 02:53 AM UTC
I have been to Tel Aviv and went to the Friday market where I bought
fabulous clay dragon puppets. The owner also has a stand in Jeruselum.
My puppets broke in shipping and I want to buy more.
Do you know this lady and how I can reach her to buy more dragon puppets?
Does she have a web site?
Thank you for your help!

I am also trying to search for fabulous sandals that I bought in a lovely shoe shop called CALIGVLA in Tel Aviv. I could not find them on the web...do you know if they go by a different name? I wanted to buy more black sandals.

I am writing from Virginia....I appreciate your help!
