Grand Cayman Roommate Wanted & Advice Needed!! :)
Posted: Mon April 30, 2007 05:32 PM UTC
Hi! I'm moving to the Caymans around the first of July, and would like to find at least one roommate, and am open to a bigger place with more than one roommate as well. I am a 23 year old female from the US, and would really prefer roommates that are similar to my situation. I have no clue what to expect to pay, although in the states I pay $1,000 per month for my one bedroom apartment, so I'm guessing it's around the same, if not more. I would love to hear anyone advice on how to go about finding good roommates and also what to expect to pay and where we should look at renting. Also, once I'm there, how do I get a car on the island? I assume I need to just buy one there. I am hoping to get an old Jeep to just get me from place to place and haul around my scuba gear... Any suggestions??? Thank you!!! :)

Grand Cayman Looking for Apartment and/or Roommate
Posted: Mon April 23, 2007 01:08 AM UTC
Hi, I've been offered a position with the Cayman Government and will be relocating from San Diego, CA in early May 2007. I am looking for an apartment or condo for rent in Georgetown or somewhere nearby, maybe South Sound. I am open to rooming with someone who has a place with a room available, or perhaps coordinate moving into a place together and sharing expenses.

I've lived abroad in Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta and the UK. Finding the right location and a great roommate would be fantastic!

Please let me know if you've had any luck with this website, found a roommate, or have any suggestions on other sites that may be helpful.

Thanks,

Matt

Grand Cayman Moving to GC
Posted: Tue April 3, 2007 04:38 AM UTC
Hi all,

I will be moving from Australia and have a job in Grand Cayman and my 18 year old daughter would like to come with me. Can you arrive there and then find work? What would be the best way. She has experience in Bar/Cocktail/Waiter/Retail service. Any recruitment agencies there that do this sort of thing??

Thanks in advance.

Grand Cayman Need update on Status of Blow holes
Posted: Sat November 25, 2006 07:00 PM UTC
Hello-

I'm cruising to GC in Feb and am wondering about the status of the Blow holes in Grand Cayman. I was told the hurricane from 2 years ago has pretty much clogged up everything and the blow holes are pretty much non-existant.

Is this true or any other updates on them?

Grand Cayman Purchase Treasure Coin Pendant in Grand Cayman
Posted: Fri November 17, 2006 08:14 PM UTC
I saw a previous posting that Grand Cayman is a great place to buy a treasure coin pendant. I have looked for these in many Caribbean Islands and have found that the best deals are found at places previous buyers have recommended. Can anyone recommend a specifc shop to get the best deals on an authentic treasure coin pendant in Grand Cayman? Thanks, Paula

Grand Cayman Job for us!

Hi,

My boyfriend and I would like to move to Cayman since we see it has better opportunities for us. We are from Philippines and we are wondering how we can move together in Cayman since I have read that work permit is needed. I am a CPA working in a multinational company however he is an undergrad ( only 2nd year computer vocational grad) and most of his experience is on F&B Server/Set-up of tables in a catering service. He also has a good background in all kinds of painting. Question is: What is the advisable strategy for us to be able to move to Cayman Islands? Thanks!

Grand Cayman Mom and 22 yr old son considering move to GC
Posted: Wed September 27, 2006 04:01 PM UTC
hi everyone. i am in the process of obtaining work as an executive assistant in grand cayman and my 22 yr old son has decided to join me.

question is...should he apply separately from me for jobs / work permit or can i apply with him as a dependant? if so, is he able to obtain a work permit once there? he is currently living in the uk working in the restaurant industry with years of canadian experience prior so he should be able to find something quite easily.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.
