Well once again we are off to Roatan and staying at AKR.

If any one is going to be there between 25 September 2004 and 4 October 2004 let us know and we can meet up for a little VT meeting island style.

I have been reading a webgroups information on Roatan and was wondering what information was available here. I have heard crime was a problem and that there was a credit card scam going on that made travelers pay more than they expected. Some say that the Island is safe and freindly. some say different. Also i have read here that meals can be very economical yet this group says they are expensive?? What gives? Does anyone here live on Roatan? Please fill me in. Cara

I'm trying to locate information about the resort. The net information appears good, but I don't know what the accommodations are like. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Has anyone stayed at AKR since 03/04? I´ve read some horrible reviews. Rooms dirty, full of insects, food really bad, staff very unhelpful. I was planning a trip there but, now I have serious doubts. Thanks for any info on this matter.

I´m trying to decide which hotel to stay at. My trip is strictly for diving. I have 2 choices. 1.-Ramon´s Village or, 2.- Fantasy Island resort. Also what time of year is best. Can anybody share experiences at these hotels? I´ll be very grateful for any advice. Thanks.

We will be at AKR from 19 March to 27 March 2004 and will be in Sandy Bay as well to do some work on our new home down there.

If anyone is going to be down there make sure you get to West End at some time durring your trip for a little night time entertainment. The drinks and the music go all night on Saturday night. Try the Twisted Toucan or any of the Swing bars... it is kind of cool to sit in a swing and drink you local island drinks.

Most of all... ENJOY!!...

We are off to Roatan again in September of 2004. This will be our 3rd trip this year and we are taking a few non-divers with us. Any idea where would be a good place to have them spend some time on the island while we are diving?

Is any one else going to be down there around the 20th of September? If so we can have a mini-VT meeting and a few drinks.

Adventure and culture are priorities! Can anyone recommend an adventurous or cultural day excursion in Roatán? Thank you
