| Cuba | Currency in Cuba Posted: Mon January 31, 2005 04:17 PM UTC
We are planning to travel around Cuba by car and we have heard that until recently, US Dollars were generally acceptable as currency for anything, anywhere in Cuba. This appeas to have changed and now travellers are urged to use Euro or other currency instead (we are going from Italy), instead of dollars, especially outside the resort areas. Can anyone comment on this from recent experience? Will they accept Euros anywhere in Cuba? Thanks.

My time can be very flexible to go visiting Cuba in late Jan or any time in Feb. Just wondering if there happens to be any festival or any carnivals during that time?
Also we'd stop in Mexico, so the same question in Mexico. thanks! |

| Cuba | Weather in late Jan/early Feb for Cuba? Posted: Mon November 22, 2004 12:14 AM UTC
I am looking into booking a trip down south in late Jan/early Feb. Does anyone know what the weather is like in Cuba at that time? A few people have told me conditions are similar to Florida at that time. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

| Cuba | Guardalavaca Posted: Mon November 8, 2004 11:17 PM UTC
We stayed at the old Club Guardalavaca four times back in the 80's, when it was the only hotel there. Have been wintering in México for the last 14 years but would like to go back to Guardalavaca again this year.
From the pictures it looks like this area has changed a lot since then, is it now part of the Club Amigo complex? Also, has anyone stayed for longer periods, say 3 or 4 weeks? Are accomodations available in private homes, such as a bed & breakfast type of a deal? Al |

| Cuba | cuba Posted: Wed October 27, 2004 09:22 PM UTC
We are visiting Cuba (Cayo Guillermo) in February 2005 to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary, I would be grateful if anyone has any tips about trips etc.
Can we use a visa card when we are out there, I have conflictin reports that we can only use certain ones, I know you can't use American Express but have been told we can't use any MBNA cards. does anyone know if this is true. Also a couple of people have said we should take little presents out with us, things such as small soaps and pencils! Anyone know what the weather will be like and is there any problems with mosquitos? |

| Cuba | What Do I Need Posted: Thu October 14, 2004 04:30 AM UTC
I'm getting married in Cuba in April. What do I need to get together for this. I don't want to mess my wedding up by not getting a silly paper signed etc. Also, has anyone ever been to the club villa resort in varadero? How was it? I've never been to a hot country, what's the one thing I should definently bring there?

| Cuba | Trip to Cuba Posted: Sat July 10, 2004 11:36 AM UTC
My partner and I are planning a 2 center trip to Cuba in February 2005, possibly spending 10 days in Havana and 10 days in Varadero.
Is it worth spending this much time in Havana or will it be better spending more time at Varadero? |
