Caye Caulker water taxi pickup at the airport?
Posted: Sat March 15, 2008 02:43 PM UTC
We booked water taxis through the Caye Caulker Water Taxi website. The page says arrangements can be made for pickup at the International Airport, but no details of how to reserve. Do we just look for a water taxi sign at the airport?
thanks,

Caye Caulker Water taxi info

Wondering about details of the water taxi boats: How many water taxi companies are there? Size of engines, etc. Are there many repair shops there? Seriously considering moving there and need to know if work will be available...propeller repairs.

Caye Caulker Swimming / beaches
Posted: Thu July 12, 2007 08:54 PM UTC
Hi, I am looking for a not-so-incredibly-expensive beach destination for a family of five, including a 16-year-old and two 11-year-olds. Caye Caulker in Belize sounds beautiful and inexpensive, but I can't seem to find any information on swimming. Everything is about snorkeling or diving. Are the beaches swim-friendly? My kids will want to be out in the water. Thanks.

Caye Caulker Weather in Caye Caulker today/this week?
Posted: Wed February 7, 2007 01:27 AM UTC
Hi,

I've been checking the weather in Belize City and it looks like it will be raining throughout most of next week (some kind of slow-moving cold front). Anyone in Caye Caulker right now? Has it been pouring all day? Will I still be able to snorkel?

(someone posted a similar message earlier but since the weather is unpredictable, I just had to ask again).

Keeping my fingers crossed,
Chryselle

Caye Caulker Has anyone stayed next to the airstrip in Caye Caulker?
Posted: Thu December 21, 2006 06:47 PM UTC
Hi!
I was curious what the water and weather was like, and if there were any cool places on that end to lay in the sand and relax. Is it noisy by the airstrip? Everyone talks about The Split...does this mean that the other side of the island is not beautiful? I am going in January, any tips?

Caye Caulker Does anyone knows his whereabouts?
Posted: Wed December 6, 2006 12:55 PM UTC
IŽd like to find a friend I met in the island back in 91. His name is Philip Lewis. He was a local artist (painter). I still have a map of the island drawn by him. At the time is was the first map of CC.
I know he went to Switzerland to show his paintings and ended up by getting married there. I lost track of him then.
I wonder if he has gone back to CC or still lives in Winthertur.
If anyone from CC knows him, please let me know.

Hi -- I'm going back to caye caulker and looking to rent a simple, rustic, thatched roof cabana on the beach -- with a bit of privacy. I've looked at everything on the web. Does anyone know of someone who rents something like this privately? Or have other suggestions? Thanks!!

Caye Caulker Snorkeling
Posted: Mon January 9, 2006 04:51 AM UTC
Hello,
I'll be in Belize in early March and would like to do some snorkeling. I've never snorkeled before, but I'm a decent swimmer. Are there excursions people go on or with guides or somewhere to rent equipment? Can you go straight from the beach or have to take a boat to the reef?
Thanks :)

We're heading to Caye Caulker between Christmas and New Year's, will we need a reservation? (there seems to be a lot of places to stay, but I'm guessing it's a very busy time of year)

Caye Caulker tree tops?
Posted: Wed May 11, 2005 03:03 PM UTC
My friend and I are headed to Caye Caulker in July and we are wondering where to stay. Tree Tops sounds like a popular hotel.... does anyone know how far of a walk it is from Tree Tops in to town? If we went out at night, would we be able to walk back to the hotel? Any other hotel recommendations that are close to the main part of town? Thanks!!

Caye Caulker Belize in July?
Posted: Sat March 19, 2005 07:43 PM UTC
I am heading to Belize in July of 2005. I done an extensive amount of research but nothing has really been able to tell me about the weather. Any first hand experience? (I'm kinda curious about the bugs as well, I'm not afraid of them... just curious!)
I am an avid hiker and wondering if there are any hikes that must be undertaken. Also has any stayed at the Parrot Nest tree houses located outside of San Ignacio?
One more quick question how long is advisable to spend in Caye Caulker. It sounds beautiful and relaxing, I'm just wondering if it can be a little too relaxing. Thank you. (This is only my second trip outside of Canada and I'm nervous/excited/naive, any tips are helpful!!)

I'm a backpacker looking to spend some time scuba diving in Belize.

Can you recommend a decent and affordable joint to stay that is affiliated or close by a scuba diving operator?

Have you heard of Ruby's Hotel in San Pedro town?

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Caye Caulker Caye Caulker in January
Posted: Tue August 24, 2004 09:01 AM UTC
I am planning a little diving holiday to Caye caulker for a week in January 2005. Can anyone tell me if this is a good time to visit Belize? I am hoping that the weather at this time of year will not be too hot!!
Also, how easy is it to get up to Tikal for a day? I'd love to go, as my wife (who will not be coming) has been there once before, and recommended it.

Thanks in advance!

I plan to take a trip to Caye Caulker this September.
I'm looking for a hotel or rental that offers a private bungalow or house. Does anyone have suggestions as to what part of the island is best? Or perhaps a specific recommendation for lodging?

Caye Caulker Travel Connections
Posted: Sat February 7, 2004 12:05 AM UTC
Can anybody tell me how much time it takes to get from Belize International Airport to Belize Municipal Airport? Also, how much time it takes to get from Belize International Airport to the Water Taxis in Belize City? My flight gets in around 4pm and I'm wondering if I have enough time to catch the last water taxi to Caye Caulker at 5:00 (17:00) after collecting my bags and going through customs, or will I need to arrange to fly over there from International or Municipal. I understand that if you fly out of Municipal, it's half the price....
Thanks in advance...
