hi i'm Looking to stay for 1-2 months & wondering if anyone has done this? what are the accommodation options - do you need to find an agent once you get there? thx
Hi all,
I'm getting married in Ubud in June, and I'm looking for villas on the beach that can accommodate up to 30 people, budget is @ $250/night per room. I'm staying away from Kuta and Sanur, as I've been to these places already and they're not what we're going for. Can anyone recommend good accommodations or even a laid back beach where I might research accoms. for myself? Thanks for the help!

Is there any issue with changing Oz dollars for rupiah, using the regular money changers in Bali? How about the banks? And is there a preferred denomination? $100 notes rather than $50s?
Haven't been to Lovina for decades; is it still a worthwhile destination? And if not Lovina, is their anywhere else on the north coast you could recommend for a few day's stay? Good accommodation in Lovina or elsewhere? Not too expensive but air con and a pool would be good.
Heard that Amed is a laid back part of the coast? Any recommendations for a town to stay in on this stretch of the coast, or accommodation? Not too expensive, but I can spring for air con. I'd love to stay as close to a beach as possible.
Any other hints about staying in this area?
I have scheduled 5 days stopover in Singapore on my way back to the US with my spouse. I have been to Singapore before and I don't see how we could possibly spend 5 days in Singapore. I thought of a romantic getaway to Bali instead for 2-3 days since Bali is pretty closeby. Now the question is - where can I find a good package from Singapore to Bali? Or should I take care of air tickets myself and buy Bali hotel packages? Since its for a short time, I would rather have an all-inclusive package and not have to deal having to do anything on my own. Any suggestions/recommendations??
May anyone know what is the condition there in Bali? Heard that there are road block everywhere. I'm chinese Malaysian, I kinda worry because I will be going to Bali next week.
Echo Beach Posted: Wed September 23, 2009 06:55 AM UTC
I understand that Sunday is the best night to go to Echo Beach, but are the other nights still good, do they still have live music and the bbq seafood? Would prefer a night a bit quieter and guaranteed tables.
How long approximately does it take to drive here from Kuta?
Taxi costs Posted: Wed September 23, 2009 01:40 AM UTC
Hi,
Just after an approximate taxi cost from Kuta to Sanur and also Kuta to Tanah Lot?
Is it far from Tanah Lot to Echo Beach? Would i be better off hiring a drive to take me to Tanah Lot and then to Echo Beach, how much should i pay if it is for about 4 hours to do both these things.
Cooking class Posted: Sat September 19, 2009 01:10 AM UTC
Hi all
Does anyone one know of a good cooking class available in the Ubud area in Bali. I would want to learn about the local fare, Balinese and if poss the general Indo cuisine. Any reviews and recommendations would be appreciated. I plan to be there late December so I want to make sure I book not so as not to be disappointed.
Hi, will be going to Bali for a couple of days in Oct. Will be with 3 other friends who are relatively new to Bali, so thought staying in somewhere "popular" like Seminyak/Kuta should work for all. Budget ~$300/night. Any recommendation? There will just be 2 of us for the 1st night, any recommendation for a hotel near the villa?
Hi, just wonder anyone can tell me how is the situation in Bali regarding the 'sweeping Malaysia' which happened in Jakarta recently? Does this kind of demonstration happens in Bali now?. Thanks a lot.
In Bali, I noticed that most of the roles that are traditionally done by females, are done by males there. For example, most maids and massage therapists are male. Is this because they have alot more males there?
i was looking at booking a room at the hotel barong or the kuta beach club through their websites. is this safe to do or am i better off going to my local travel agent. thanks
i am planning on going to kuta last week of november first week of december. I went there with family as a teenager but now im going by myself. is it risky waiting untill i get thier to find a hotel or should i pre book one?
So, I've done a pretty extensive search online checking out the different accommodations (bungalows, houses, hotels, etc.) from Balangan to Uluwatu and haven't been able to find a place that has air conditioning. I know, it sounds a bit pre-madonnaish, but the last time I went to Mexico and stayed in a bungalow without a/c I didn't sleep one night without waking up multiple times. It wasn't pleasant.
I've been to Bali before and stayed in Kuta, but want to stay on the Bukit this time. Preferably on the ocean. If anyone knows of a place in that area for around $20-30 USD I'd appreciate the info.
Hey guys, I am planning my honeymoon in December. We are thinking of spending 4 nights in Bali, 4 nights in Phuket and 2 nights in Bangkok. Where in Bali would you recommend that we stay. Our travel agent is suggesting Hotel Santika Premiere Beach Resort in Kuta, but my Wife and I are thinking of staying somewhere more private but at the same time close to beach and shopping and things like that.
Any suggestions? Also can you suggest what we should see for sure in 4 nights we'll be spending there.
Im planning to go with my friend to bali in december, should i?? Im asking because the weather... i only have days in december, so... betwwen 1 to 10 of DEC, i would like to hear from someone who has been there in the same time...tanks a lot for any help!
I have checked www.hostelbookers.com and I am still confuse where is the nice place to stay in Ubud. I prefer place near the beach and easy to catch transportation to travel around the town also enjoy day and night life too.
Hiya all... I have the opportunity to visit Bali in December & I was looking for some advice on weather conditions... Would i be better going at another time of year? The average weather tables look bad for december, but, i know, these tables are as untrustworthy as weather itself... Any advice would be nice... Thanks...
