Bali this is really odd - concerning bacon
Posted: Fri July 25, 2008 02:16 PM UTC
I've noticed and love the fact that most hotel prices include breakfast.

If bacon is part of the meal is it usually American or British style?

Just curious.

Bali Driver in Bali
Posted: Fri July 25, 2008 05:37 AM UTC
If anybody is looking for a honest and good driver you can give Oman a call. We used him for 5 days in July and he was cheaper than all the other drivers we negotiated with including petrol parking and insurance. He was very reliable and took us where ever we wanted to go to. He also new Bali well so we did not waste any time looking for places. He also had a wide knowledge of the Culture in Bali. His number is 0062 81 2399 2619.If you want to call him from Bali his number is 081 239902619
You can quote my name to him........Gary

Bali Villa Kresna Tropical Resort
Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 12:26 PM UTC
Does anyone have any tips on this particular hotel? I think I found it through BaliSunshine's hotel tips, but when I tried to search for other opinions of it nothing came up. It's spa is listed on www.balispa.com but www.balieats.com doesn't mention either of its restaurants and they haven't answered my e-mails.

Ubud Help finding a friend
Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 01:36 AM UTC
Hello, I'm trying to get in touch with some friends we met in Ubud in 2006. Our daughter went to school with their daughter at the Pelangi School. Their names are John, Novi and the daughter is Nakita. Sorry, no last name. If anybody knows them, or more important, can get in touch with them, it would be a great favor if you could give them my e-mail (stbollin@hotmail.com). Tell them the Americans traveling around the world with their daughter Annika wants to contact them before we come back to Bali. Thanks.

Bali Total driving around Bali +a random one
Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 08:55 AM UTC
Hello!

How long approx. would it take to drive across Bali, around the island... I remember reading some details in Eat Pray Love, which planting the Bali adventure idea in my head, but I don't have it here with me yet. I haven't decided which town to stay in, but I'll have 18 days once I get there.

Also, I know you can create travel guide on here, how would you save the random tips from forums? I was really interested in the info on buying gold jewelry.

Bali Tee cost of a week in paradise
Posted: Sun July 13, 2008 08:25 PM UTC
Hey all,

Not including hotels and airfare would 750.00 pp Canadian be enough for a weeks holiday? (approx. 6,500,000 rupiah)

I would also like to get an idea of the costs for certain items (in rupiahs if possible):

Raw silk scarf (24"+)

Average cafe meal for 2

Pedicure

Nike running shoes

With a wide variety of costs to work with I should be able to figure out an apporpriate budget.

Many thanks,
M

Bali Car rental/buying
Posted: Tue July 8, 2008 10:42 PM UTC
Anybody have any suggestions for a long term car rental, or possibly buying a used car for 1 year in Bali? We can possibly get by without one by using locals drivers, or renting for short periods.
This brings my next question; Our last stay we rented bikes for a few months, but the bikes were pretty old. Should we bring decent mountain bikes, or is it cheaper (cost to ship them), and easier, to buy them in Bali/Indonesia?
