| Nassau | Atlantis Posted: Mon February 12, 2007 03:32 AM UTC
This summer my family is going on a Disney cruise to Nassau. One of the "excursions" you can take is a trip to Atlantis. You get a ride over to Atlantis and access to the beach at Atlantis but not the slides or pools. This cost about $65.00. My sister told me that when she and her husband were in Nassau last year they had stayed at the Comfort Inn and they were given a bracelet to wear that got them into Atlantis and they were able to go to the beach and run around. She said she thinks they only paid $13.00 to go from town to Atlantis by taxie. So I have a few questions??? Is it cheaper to take a taxie over the bridge to Atlantis and once there can I just go in and go to the beach or do I need to pay to have use of the beach?? I noticed someone wrote in and said they snuck in to the beach.

| Nassau | The Best Time to Visit Posted: Tue January 30, 2007 07:45 AM UTC
When is the best time to visit the Bahamas?
June-Nov is Hurricane Season and May-Oct is Rainy Season. I know that some rainy seasons aren't as bad and I would never dream of going during Hurricane Season. So when is the best time to go? |

| Nassau | With a budget of $3000 US including transportation/hotel, what do you suggest me to do? Posted: Fri December 15, 2006 04:42 PM UTC
I'm planning to go at winter 2007 for 1 week with my friends after graduating. We will be around 6 people. It will be my first time in the caribbeans. I would like to do snorkeling/scuba diving/parasailing. My swimming skill is very poor so does the place have good trainers? Where do you suggest me to go? How much did the whole trip cost to you? What shouldn't i miss? I don't want to be ruined.
Thank you for your advices |

| Nassau | Need info please. Posted: Sat December 2, 2006 06:41 PM UTC
I am wanting to fly into Nassau, go visit the Hard Rock Cafe, and get back to the airport within a few hours. Is this possible?
One trip I could do would give me about 4 hours from touchdown to take-off and another one would give me 6 hours. How are the NAS custom procedures on arrival and departure? How quickly can I get to town and back? I am trying to visit all the Hard Rocks of the world. Also, I work for an airline, so the flights are no big deal for me. Thank you in advance. |

| Nassau | snokeling in Nassau Posted: Sun November 5, 2006 09:21 PM UTC
My husband and I are taking our kids--22 and 29 to Nassau on a Carnival cruise. We would like to go snokeling and hang out at a nice beach for the day in Nassau (Nov 17th) but we really don't want to spend the 45.00 pp to get there and back that they charge on the ship. We have our snorkel equipment already. Can you help me with transportation to one of the pretty snorkel beaches? Thanks! Kathie

| Nassau | reservation error Posted: Sun October 22, 2006 05:08 PM UTC
I had booked a package travelling from Nov. 23-26 to the Riu, Paradise Island. When selecting my ground transportation vouchers, I selected the incorrect zone. We are going to be dropped off in the Cable Beach area. Orbitz is refusing to make any changes to my package.
Any recommendations as to how we can get to Paradise Island? Is taxi the only solution or can we take a bus? It is approximately 6 miles away, ,so I'll need to know the bus that we should take if there is one. |

| Nassau | Romantic Dinner without going broke? Posted: Fri October 20, 2006 02:35 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be leaving for a getaway to Atlanis in "3" days. We are so looking foward to this trip. We have 7 children in which we are leaving home with grandparents to enjoy and relax with one another WITHOUT KIDS!!! O.K now that you understand how we need this trip. When we travel we typically like to find the beautiful fine dinning restaurants where we can sit for hours and drink wine and just talk. After reading how expensive the food is in the bahama's I dont believe that we could afford those prices. Any suggestions of romantic places to eat WITHOUT KIDS!!! Also, is it true that everything at the Atlanis is extra such as the gym and waterslides if you are a guest? Any help will be appriciated. The fish fry thing sounds like fun. Is this everyones suggestion? Thank you so much A mom that really needs a break : ) |

| Nassau | Hotel Choice Posted: Tue October 10, 2006 09:05 AM UTC
I'll be going to Nassau for 3 nights at the end of October for a local wedding. I've narrowed the hotel search to the Best Western, Comfort Suites, Radisson Cable Beach, Wyndham and Nassau Beach Hotel. The friend who's getting married has said that Cable beach is getting a bit far from her home and the other festivities, and so has recommended Paradise Island as it's a bit closer. That being said, the hotels on Cable beach are a bit cheaper so I was thinking it might balance out if it's a nicer place to stay. We don't want an all inclusive as we don't like being "trapped" in one place. I understand Paradise Island is walking distance from downtown. The Best Western seems like a good deal as it's a suite for less than some of the other rooms, and has a kitchenette-we can save on meals (everyone says how expensive the food is), even though it's a 10 minute walk from the beach. It's quite a bit cheaper than the Comfort Suites. We'll be 3 to a room, so the extra space is always nice. Any comments would be appreciated. Any "must sees" that aren't obvious? Not interested in Atlantis. Thanks.

| Nassau | Beach Wedding Posted: Tue August 15, 2006 01:59 AM UTC
My fiance and I will be marrying in Nassau Easter Weekend. We really like the Sandyport Beach and Gazebo (behind Poop Deck). Is this beach as nice as the others on the island? We want a beautiful beach....what about the Colonial Hilton Beach? Any recommendations on a beautiful but semi private beach would be appreciated. Also.... has anyone seen a reception done at the Poop Deck?

| Nassau | beach drinking? Posted: Tue July 25, 2006 02:39 AM UTC
Heading to Nassau in about 2.5 weeks for my fiancee's sister's wedding. Going to be there for 8 days, staying locally (no hotel) and was wondering about drinking on the island. Is it possible to just get a bottle of rum and sit on a beach and drink it? Or is this a bad idea? Where would we even get the rum, in any case, meaning what kind of store? Absolute Beginners here, thanks for the help.

| Nassau | are the purses real in the straw market? Posted: Tue July 18, 2006 05:50 PM UTC
Hello, I have been to the straw market before on a Disney cruise, But we did not have much time, so when I went to the straw market I bought a few thing such as a designer purse and a swimsuit coverup. They said my purse was real, ( it looks real too ) and a friend told me that all the purses are fake, so what I wanted to know was if the purses are real.

I travel as close to being a native as possible. I have been searching online so long that I am going cross eyed, very lovely look. PLease help. This coming August I am taking my son to the Bahamas and I am having a terrible time editing or finding pricing for what I would like to do. My son is 8. The last major trip we took I shuffled him across Europe. This time I would love some beach time but still embrace and experience culture. What would you do with seven days given my situation?

| Nassau | What to expect from the rain in June Posted: Fri June 9, 2006 04:00 PM UTC
Hello ~ Our family (my husband and my 4 year old)leave for Nassau on Monday June 13th. The Weather channel says to pack an umbrella. OUCH...what do they mean by scattered showers? Should we start to find stuff to do inside or are they light and fast showers. We had a ruined vacation in October in Cancun and we are really hoping this is not a repeat of that rain. We couldn't even go outside and everything flooded. Please let us know what the rain is like and if it is heavy what do you think our family can enjoy inside. We are at the Atlantis resort.
Thank you !!! |

How much to tour the hotel? I will be there on a curise and a package tour is around $45 from the ship. I heard you can take a water taxi over to the hotel and see things much cheaper.
