From Bali to Komodo Posted: Sun February 17, 2008 01:00 PM UTC
I'm planning to go from Bali or Lombok to Komodo but don't know what would be the bes way to get there
1. would it be cheaper to fly from Denpasar or Mataram to Labuanbajo?
2. is there any ferry connection between Bali and Komodo/Flores? Would that be better option?
I have heard that taking a tour from Bali to Komodo is very expensive.
As I'm on quite low budget, I'd be happy if someone can recommend a good way to get to Komodo.
In total I'll be in the area for 7 days (flying in and out from Bali), so on quite packed schedule. Would it be enoug time to see Bali, Lombok and Komodo?
Thank you in advance!

Information on transportation to Flores Posted: Thu November 22, 2007 03:46 AM UTC
Hi, I am planning to visit Flores and Komodo Island at this end of December. Is it the right season to visit these two islands? Can anyone provide me the following information:
1) where to get the bus cum ferry ticket from Mataram,Lombok to Labuhan Bajo, Flores? How much is the cost and how long long it takes to arrive at Labuhan Bajo? And whether can I get the same transport package from Labuhan Bajo back to Mataram?
2) Can I travel to Moni from Labuhan Bajo by public transport in 1 or 2 day? How much? Any better suggestion?

Best Way To Visit Komodo and Rinca Posted: Thu May 25, 2006 04:58 AM UTC
Hi, I am planning to visit Komodo and Rinca Islands in August via Bali and I appreciate if you could let me know the following information:-
a) I am thinking of flying from Denpasar to Labuanbajo and then get a tour package to visit these islands. Is it easy to find a tour package in Labuanbajo which offered visit to both Komodo and Rinca Islands?
b) I am also thinking of booking a tour package from internet instead of looking for one in Labuanbajo. However, the price quoted in the internet seems to be at the high side. Any idea how much it costs if I get a tour package in Labuanbajo?
c) How many days are enough to visit Komodo and Rinca?
d) Any nice and clean budget hotels to stay in Labuanbajo? Please recommend.
Please let me know. Thank you.

Trasnportation to Maumere, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Posted: Tue March 28, 2006 01:06 PM UTC
Hi,
can somebody tell me how to get to Maumere, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
I want to go there but did not have any information on the transportation. Would you mind telling me what kind of transportation that I need to take to get there and what are the options. My starting point will be Jakarta, Indonesia. Do you think I should fly to Denpasar, Bali or other city such as Kupang or Mataram? and then cross the island with small boat? Or probably anyone has better suggestion.
Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it.

getting to flores Posted: Thu March 23, 2006 05:25 PM UTC
Does anyone know the easiest way to get to Flores from Jakarta? Are there any direct flights from Jakarta to Labuanbajo? Or are there any connecting flights via Denpasar? We're planning to travel around April 6/7/8th and would like to know the quickest way to get there. Hopefully then we'll be taking a very slow overland/sea return, we just didn't want to do this in both directions! Any tips would help....

Flores trip questions Posted: Mon October 10, 2005 04:30 AM UTC
I am planning a trip to Flores to see the komodo dragons. At the same time I would like to see the Kelimutu. As I won’t have too much time, I would like to know if the following itenary is feasible.
Hi,
I am thinking fly from Denpasar to LabuanBajo on the Saturday and catch the flight from Ende to Denpasar the following Friday. Then I would have about 5 days to visit Rica and see the Kelimutu. Do you think this is feasible even if it would be a bit rush?
Also to go from LabuanBajo to Ende, beside the public bus, is there any possibility to rend a private car with driver. As several of us will be traveling together, it could be more comfortable and faster.

Flores transport Posted: Sun February 27, 2005 05:26 PM UTC
Hi,
I am planning a trip over Indonesia from Bali to Flores (I have to Bali in 2003 already). I have one week to go Jakarta to Flores and then back to Lombok or Bali. I suppose 2 possible routes - please recommend one of them:
1. Flight Jakarta - Ende. Keli Mutu lakes, bus/plane to Labuan Bajo, boat trip over Rinca/Komodo to Lombok.
2. Flight Jakarta - Labuan Bajo, boat trip over Rinca/Komodo to Lombok.
I prefer route 1 but I worry about the time. I have only 1 week (Sunday to Sunday).
Please tell me anything you know about travelling in this area.

West to East Timor overland Posted: Sun November 14, 2004 06:20 PM UTC
Does anyone know of the recent situation with the border with East Timor? I'm thinking of going from Kupang to Dili by bus in about a month's time. Has anyone done this? Is the direct bus preferred over the transfer at the border?
Thanks.
