For our trip in June we'll be going to the Amazon... which is better for wildlife and overall experience? Iquitos or P. Maldonado? Just curious on peoples thoughts thanks!

how can we get from iquitos to caracas without going back to lima, or spending a small fortune??? all help greatly appreciated.

We would like to spend some time (about in total a week, including the trip) in the Pacaya Samiria park.
It should be possible to travel to the park from Yurimagas.
As we are travelling on a tight budget (we are a family of six): can anyone tell us what is the best thing to do> we would like to visit virgin jungle (ok, almost virgin) to observe wildlife life capybara, cayman, giant otters, jaguar, and sachavaca (tapir) and not to forget birds.
Has anyone suggestions (how, costs etc. or alternatives)

I am Canadian and need a visa to enter Brazil. Does anyone know if there is a Brazilian Consular office in Iquitos. Is it possible to acquire a visa at the Tabitinga border crossing. I am presently in Quito and hope to travel to Iquitos via the Napo river. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

A: I too will be taking the bus from Lima, Trujillo, Yurimaguas. When you said that the ferry takes 20 Hrs, did you mean from Yurimaguas to Iquitos, or all the way to Tabatinga. From there I will try to find a freighter and go all the way to Manaus. Any idea how lang that may take? I should be there by the second and third week of February, and hope to stay in Manaus for the carnival.

Whats the common transportation to Iquitos?
Is it only by plane or are there any other possibilites?
From Lima or Cuzco.

And are there any organized jungle safari/trips?

I plan to go to Iquitos & Tarapoto in May , because I guess it could be less rain and not too hot ~
but my partner plan to go there in March ,
Is it good to visit Iquitos in March ?
or in May is better ??
or we shold check the weather report before we go to Iquitos ??

I'm just looking for someone who can join me to go to Iquitos, Perù...
I should be there from 14/8 to 18/8 or something similar...
I think I'll be alone since my friends will leave Perù the 14th... I don't want to lose the opportunity to visit the Amazonic jungle, but I don't like to travel alone, so if someone is interested in going with me please contact me as soon as possible !!

Going back to S.A. for the fourth time this winter (I am from Canada) I wonder if it is posible to go by boat from Iquitos to Manaus. If so, has anyone taken this trip? If yes, what is the duration, cost, the scenery etc. I would be forever grate full for all any answer.
