Guayaquil Lima - Guayaquil - Lima
Posted: Tue October 30, 2007 03:06 AM UTC
Hi,

I've been reading up on getting from Lima to Guayaquil, and then back to Lima.

Does anyone have an experience or suggestions on the whether or not it's worth it to take a bus instead of a plane? I know it's 24 hours on the road. But a round trip flight costing around $500 is not easy on the wallet.

Any recommended bus companies? Any idea of the fare?

Thanks in advance!

Guayaquil Naranjal Information
Posted: Sat October 6, 2007 07:43 PM UTC
Hi - I will be in the Naranjal area the month of November - has any member been there and can you offer some tips on transportation, things to do, safety or anything else of interest? I'm not going to be in Guayaquil more than a day but see there's plenty to do there. I am looking forward to the smaller area of Naranjal. Thank you for your help! WWPat

Guayaquil Any irish bars in Guaya quil?
Posted: Wed September 19, 2007 03:20 PM UTC
Dear all,

Im coming to Guayaquil for 10 days and would like to know if there are any irish bars in the city? The rugby world cup is on at the moment - so im trying to locate somewhere that might show the matches while im in Guayaquil and figured an Irish bar is probably the best bet, as im guessing rugby isnt a big sport in Ecuador.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Guayaquil boat from panama to ecuador, winter of 2006
Posted: Thu December 28, 2006 02:29 AM UTC
Hi, A friend and I are riding motorcycles from Arizona to Chile, Nov, 2007 - March, 2008. Would prefer a boat ride from Panama to Guayaquil or another port rather than crating the motorcycles for air cargo to Quito. Prefer to stay away from Colombia. Also, Quito is a bit cold for motorcycle riding.

Actually, any place from Costa Rico to Ecuador or Peru would work out fine.

Appreciate any advice. Otto

Guayaquil Guayaquil versus Quito
Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 05:31 AM UTC
I am planning a trip to Ecuador in the next few weeks. I intend to do a lot of birding, visit the Galapagos, and join the Quito Hash House Harriers for a run and some fun. While I expect to do a bit of the typical touristy shopping, it is the least important thing on my list of things to do. Likewise fancy resturants and hotels are not especially important. I was wondering what the advantages, if any, of flying into Guayaquil versus Quito might be. I expect to rent a car so I could always drive into Quito if/when I need to. The price of the airline ticket is the same either way, and I just want to make sure I go to the most appropriate place.

Guayaquil Rafting and Kayaking
Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 01:08 PM UTC
Hello all, nice to find a forum where questions are really answered.

Ok well here's my situation im heading to Guayaquil on 20th Aug to meet a friend I have 7 days and i want to get some kayaking and Rafting done. Unfortunatly I realise this is not the best base city as google earth has shown me its immediate surroundings are not as ideal as Quito, also the fact that I will be there in wet season(I think) would lead me to believe many rivers being too strong !? Anyone recommend anywhere nearby that is good for these, or any commpany they trust ?

Guayaquil cerro blanco from Guyaquil port
Posted: Tue January 24, 2006 03:50 AM UTC
Hello,

We'll be in Guayaquil in a few days with a ship, which docks at the port of Guayaquil, which I've heard is about 45 minutes' drive from Guayaquil.
I am interested in going to see some nature/wildlife for the day (we probably have about 5-6 hours free during the day).. I've heard that Cerro Blanco is very nice. Does anyone have any advice/comments? Is it best to go to Guayaquil then organize transport from there? Or is it closer to the port?
Is there a nicer destination option nearer to the port area?
I would appreciate any reccomendations. Thanks!
