Dancing in Alghero Posted: Fri September 11, 2009 07:41 PM UTC
I am looking for some advice and information if anyone can help!
I am organising a hen party in Alghero on the weekend of 26th September. On the saturday night we would like to go out dancing but it seems that Ruscello and La Siesta may both be closed by then.
I would like to know if there is another bar with lively dancing open until late?
Also, i would like to book a table for us (we are 16 people) in Miques de Mirral and also a bar called El Tro, but i can't find any phone numbers for them. Does anyone have a phone number for Miques de Mirall bar or El Tro?
Grazie Mille!

Borrowing a guitar in Alghero Posted: Wed May 27, 2009 01:10 PM UTC
Hi there
Ok this is a really random request! I've been asked to play guitar at a friend's wedding in Alghero in September. I'm having second thoughts about taking a guitar on a plane (heard horror stories about this and Ryanair won't let you take a guitar as hand luggage, you're supposed to book a separate seat for it!!!).
I wondered if anyone could help advise what the likelihood of borrowing a guitar when I'm there would be? Or if anyone knows someone there that I could possibly borrow one from?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Buses to and from Bosa Marina from Alghero Airport Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 06:20 AM UTC
Hello,
Could anyone tell me the frequency of buses from Alghero Airport to Bosa Marina and return Bosa Marina to Alghero Airport. I have also booked a day off the Island flying from Alghero to Pisa with the flight leaving at 8am and returning at 9pm - is there bus connections so early in the morning and late in the evening too?
If buses are not available - does anyone know how much a taxi would cost?
Thank You

Looking for further sea fishing info... Posted: Sun May 25, 2008 04:03 PM UTC
Hi,I noted the information provided about sea fishing in response to a previous question, however I was wondering if anyone could please advise where we would be able to rent a small boat and fishing equiptment? Also are there any dangerous currents or anything of the like to be aware of around Porto Conte if we were to swim off the boat?

Ferries from Alghero Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 07:54 PM UTC
Hi folks,
I'm staying in Alghero in September for two weeks, and I wondered where else can you get to by ferry or boat from Alghero for day trips? I've heard that it's possible to get a ferry to Corsica - is this correct?
Are there any other places accessible by ferry or boat for a day trip or overnight trip?
Many thanks.

Alghero Advice Posted: Fri March 28, 2008 01:38 PM UTC
Hi, can anyone tell me what the weather is like in Alghero at the moment? My parents are flying out on Sunday and don't know whether to pack summer or winter clothes. Any advice on places of interest to visit would be appreciated as it looks like it is not the main tourist season their at this time of year so will many places be open? How easy is it to visit Corsica? Most advice seems to be to hire a car, will it be very difficult to get around and see places without one? Sorry lots of questions, last one though, does anyone know what the transport is like from the airport to Alghero?

transport from the Airport to Alghero in the evening?? Posted: Tue May 1, 2007 01:07 PM UTC
Hi we (me and the wife) will be travelling to Alghero between 11th and 19th of September. Basically I took the cheapest flight option available, which gets to the airport at 8:40 pm on a tuesday. Now I understand that the airport is quite far away from the town but I got the impression from some sources that there is a bus service at the airport waiting for every flight arrival?? Is that actually true?? If not does the local pick up bus (no 9 was it?) run in the evenings? Or if anyone has any other transport recommendations - I 'd hate to get in a taxi where I know little local language (basic Italian but know nothing about Catalan), and being charged 30-40 euros for a (say) 10-euro journey.
On a related note: if we don't hire a car, what day trips/overnight trips are recommended to do in Sardinia? We have a week so I m thinking one day in Fertilia and probably an overnight (i.e.2 days)somewhere south Sardinia. Any recommendations would be very helpful!!
Grazie!

Trains from Olbia to Alghero Posted: Thu February 22, 2007 06:03 PM UTC
Hello friends,
There is a train that I'd need to take in order to get from Olbia to Alghero (I'm flying to and from Olbia in August, landing in the afteroon). I need to ride a train because the buses between the two cities seems quite rare. Anyway, the last train between the cities leaves Olbia at 16.49 and has 2 connections before reaching Alghero by 20.24. There are 2 connections in between, the first one goes through Ozieri - Chilivani and there seems to be a train change (when the number of a train changes, that necessarily means a physical train change, does it?) The thing is, the connection has 7 minutes margin before moving on from Ozieri to Sassari. I wanted to ask whether you think that may mean missing the connection in case the first train is a bit late. I thought it's worth asking, because maybe these connections wait for people in the previous train to arrive before the second train starts moving. What do you think?
Thanks a lot to all Sardinian friends!

Are there good public transport links around the island? Is it possible to get around without having to hire a car?
