Amalfi Tower of La Capperina
Posted: Sat February 25, 2006 05:56 PM UTC
I understand you can arrange a boat trip to the Tower of La Capperina and enjoy dinner at the tower. Has anyone done this, and do you know a source of information, such as the name of the restaurant or how to arrange?

Thanks

Amalfi Almafi or Positano?
Posted: Thu February 16, 2006 12:52 PM UTC
My husband and I be travelling to the Almafi coast in early October to celebrate our anniversary. We plan to spend a couple of days in Rome then to either Almafi or Positano to use a home-base to explore the area for 4 days. Should we stay in Positano or Almafi? We want picturesque and romantic as well as convenient - is there such a thing?

Amalfi ferry to Salerno
Posted: Mon January 30, 2006 04:49 PM UTC
We will be in Amalfi in May and were planning on taking the SITA bus to Salerno where we will be getting on the train to Sicly. I see that there is a ferry that goes from Amalfi to Salerno, could you please tell me how long it takes to get there? Also, will Mid May be considered summer for hours on the ferry? Or will they even be running in May.

Thank you,
Jessie

Amalfi Transportation to Amalfi Coast
Posted: Thu January 26, 2006 04:53 PM UTC
We'll be in Rome for a few days and then plan to go to the Amalfi Coast and Capri. How do we get there? We are not renting a car. We thought train or bus to Amalfi (or near by) then boat to Capri. Any thoughts?

Amalfi Where to Stay
Posted: Tue January 10, 2006 09:05 PM UTC
Hi Everyone

I'm spending 4 days in the Amalfi Coast in May but I'm not sure whether I should stay in Amalfi, Positano or even Sorrento. I want to explore as much of the area as I can but also not be to rushed. Which is the best town to stay in?

Also, is it better to visit Pompeii from Naples or is it just as easy from the Amalfi Coast.

Cheers

Amalfi Hotel Onda Verde
Posted: Wed April 20, 2005 07:56 PM UTC
We're staying there for 3 nights in May, after a few days in Rome - if anyone has any comments or feedback about the hotel I'd love to hear it. We won't have a car, how much of an issue should that be? Is there much within walking distance from the Praiano area (shops, sites, hiking)? Also, we were planning on taking the train from Rome, how complicated will that be getting to our hotel? They've offered a private Mercedes to pick us up in Naples and take us to the hotel, for 100 euro. Reasonable?

Thanks in advance!

Amalfi Amalfi or Positano
Posted: Fri November 12, 2004 01:56 PM UTC
Hi, old topic perhaps but I would appreciate some opinions.

I have booked 4 days in Amalfi (Miramalfi) next summer for my family (including 2 teenage kids) but am now wondering if Positano would be a better bet.

Our reasoning for Amalfi was that we found an affordable hotel which had a pool which seems less likely in Positano but if it is so much better perhaps we should forget the pool and move

Any comments whcih might help clear my confusion?

Thanks

Does anyone know of FUORE region in AMalfi and is it ok to stay there?
Did anyone stay or hear of Locanda Ripa dell Janere hotel if so what do you have to say about it.
How complicated is it to drive from Rome to Amalfi - specifically FUORE which is located somewhere near the amalfi city.
Can someone recommend a decent accomadations within a price range of 100-120USD
Can someone recommend a good car rental place
Thank you all for you help.

Amalfi Emerald Grotto
Posted: Thu August 12, 2004 03:45 PM UTC
So far we have read two comments on the Emerald Grotto on VT. One that it was a "don't miss sight" and one that it was a rip off. Should we go or not? Thanks.

Amalfi winter travel

My fiance and I are planning a honeymoon and were considering traveling in Southwestern Italy and Sicily. We will be traveling in December/January and were worried that many things would be closed during this time period.

Does anyone have any experience with these winter months? Any suggestions or warnings?

Amalfi Need transportation advise from Pompeii to Amalfi Coast
Posted: Sat March 20, 2004 01:53 PM UTC
I'll be visiting Naples from a Cruise for just only 1 day. My plan is to go to Pompei. To be a little bit aggressive, I will also like to go to Amalfi Coast after Pompei. I will certainly appreciate any advise of what transportation to take to go to Amalfi Coase. Specific questions are:
- are there buses to go there from Pompei or do I have to go to Sorrento first?
- is the bus terminals easy to find for people who don't know Italian?
- is it easy to find the bus to go back to train station from Amalfi?

Thanks a lot for any reply.

If anyone could tell me anything about Maiori I would be thrilled! Also, where are the best places to clothing shop?? And how is the nightlife around the Amalfi Coast? thanks so much to anyone that can help me out!

Amalfi Trip to Amalfi in March
Posted: Fri January 9, 2004 05:57 AM UTC
I am writing to ask for advice about "must see's" on the Amalfi Coast. My husband and I are traveling there in the middle of March for a week, and staying at the Hotel Panorama. We are going with a tour (Arts/Boston Travel), but will have some free time in Amalfi and Naples.

The tour is set to go to Amalfi, Capri, Sorrento, Positano and Naples. We can leave the tour if we wish.

We would appreciate any ideas from those of you who have been there.

Thank you!

Amalfi Honeymoon in Italy
Posted: Mon December 1, 2003 08:31 PM UTC
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon to Italy--we want to be by the ocean. We're looking at Taormina, Sicily or the Amalfi Coast... Any suggestions? We'll be in Italy in June for about 11 days--don't want to be surrounded by tourists--if that's still possible. Just looking for a place by the sea, with restaurants and local life nearby. Thanks in advance!
