Assisi Info, Assisi to Lavello (Pz), Italy
Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 08:16 PM UTC
We will be with a tour group in Assisi, but I have a childhood friend who lives in Lavello. I haven't seen her in years and can't imagine being this close and not getting to visit her.
I need to know what the easiest, fastest way to get from Assisi to Lavello . Train to Rocchetta, then rent a car? Rent a car for the entire trip? If I rent a car are there penalties if I return the car in Naples? We want to rejoin our group in Pompeii the next afternoon. If I drop the car in Naples, is there a good Metro to Pompeii?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Assisi Nativity Scene through Doorway of Side Street
Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 11:04 PM UTC
As I was walking downhill from the parking area in Assisi I looked through a doorway and found an enchanting nativity scene. It was an entire village with small signs in Italian. As I remember, it was on the way to the church of Saint Claire. We will be returning to Assisi in July and I would love to show this nativity scene to my family. Does any one know the name of the street it is on? Thank you.

We will be making several trips back and forth to the train station in Santa Maria degli Angeli from the farm. We do not want to rent a car. Does anyone know the approximate cost of hiring a taxi for a trip of this length and the maximum number of passengers per car? Thanks for your help, Pat

Assisi Lost name of local assisi artist
Posted: Tue June 20, 2006 03:19 AM UTC
I bought a print from a shop in Assisi a couple years ago, and foolishly didn't buy the second print that went with it. Maybe someone on this forum knows the artist or the shop phone number or the number for the Assisi chamber or commerce.

See the print here: http://lostassisiartist.blogspot.com/. Most of this artist's prints are very similar in style.

Thanks.

Posted: Wed April 26, 2006 04:14 PM UTC
My sister will be in florence in May and would like to visit Assisi. She has already rent a car for sunday and monday. Should she go to Assisi on monday? There will be certainly less tourists then, but will the restaurants, shops, museums, be open?

Thank you for your advice.

Assisi Calendimaggio festival in May?
Posted: Mon October 25, 2004 04:42 AM UTC
We are trying to decide whether to go to Assisi for the Calendimaggio festival or the Corsa dei Ceri race in Gubbio. Any suggestions? What is the Calendimaggio like? Real touristy or authentic? What actually happens? Is there anything going on in the evening? Is the town wall to wall people?

Hello everyone,

I want to take my group of 24 people to St. Marys of the Angels. We are staying in the old part of Assisi, specifically Hotel LaRocca (anyone heard of it?). Does anyone know how we can get there without renting a bus?

Thanks!

Assisi Should I travel to Assisi from Florence?
Posted: Wed January 21, 2004 08:01 PM UTC
I will be spending 6 nights in Florence, as many other travellers are, in February and I see that everyone is recommending day trips to the Tuscany area. We do plan on visiting Siena and Pisa, however, should we also plan a day trip to Assisi? Will it take an entire day? What is the best mode of travel - we won't have a car. What are the "must-see" sites or cafes in Assisi?
Thank you for your help.
