Bari Living in Bari, Italy
Posted: Thu October 5, 2006 03:46 PM UTC
I am thinking about moving to Italy to teach English as a second language, and am considering Bari. I have visited Italy several times, but have not been to the south. If anyone has been there or lives there, your insight is greatly appreciated.

Bari How to go from Bari to Albergobello?
Posted: Thu September 7, 2006 11:37 PM UTC
Our cruise ship stops in Bari for just a few hours. Would it work to hire a driver to take us to Albergobello to see the conical houses there? What's the best way to find a reputable driver who can meet us at or near the pier? How long would the round trip drive to Albergobello require?

Bari Storing luggage at Bari train station or harbour?
Posted: Wed July 5, 2006 08:54 AM UTC
Hi all!

I'm considering spending a day in Bari on my way to Greece, waiting for the ferry. Now, should I leave my luggage at the train station when I arrive from Rome, or is it possible to store it at the harbour?

Bari Rental car or bus?
Posted: Thu June 8, 2006 03:08 PM UTC
I'm taking a ferry into Bari then want to go to Naples. Is it better for an English-speaker to take the bus (how long to Naples?) or rent a car? Any suggestions on a convenient and safe hotel near the port? Thanks!

Bari Hotel for family of 5 in Bari
Posted: Thu May 11, 2006 04:35 PM UTC
I am looking for a hotel in Bari for one night -- May 22. I am traveling with my husband and three kids (17,14,11). Do I have to get 2 rooms for the 5 of us? I really would rather not spend a lot on hotel cost for just one night. Also, a shuttle to the airport would be great! Something around $100 - 130 or cheaper?

Bari train to Rome from Bari
Posted: Sat April 15, 2006 01:43 AM UTC
I will be arriving by ferry in Bari in the morning and from here will take a train to Rome. It sounds like Bari may be a little seedy for a women travelling alone and the only train trip I could find on the Trenitalia site has a train leaving around 1600. Do you think its worth going on the slower trains to Rome from Bari to avoid spending half a day in Bari with a backpack (of course with concealed money and passport in hidden money belt)?

Bari Visiting my father's birthplace
Posted: Thu February 16, 2006 04:00 AM UTC
We are planning a 1 to 3 month trip in Italy and want to rent a place for the 2 of us so we can use it for a home base and travel from it. We plan to be there starting in October,2006. It would help if we could stay at someone's home as inexpensively as possible. MY wife is a great cook so she could help with the meals. My father was born in Mola di Bari and my mother was from Foggia which is not that far away.
If anyone has any experiences doing something like this please write and fill me in.
Ciao,
Tom

Bari places to stay in Bari for one night
Posted: Sat June 25, 2005 10:44 PM UTC
I am coming to Bari as a single woman for one night and need reasonable accommodation in the centre of town. I will have car so will need a place to park (hotel/guest house) - does anyone have any recommendations? I will be flying in, but then need to take my son to the port to get the ferry to Durress.
Also, can anyone give me details of the hydrofoil that operates instead of the overnight ferry?
Thank you so much!

Hello, I'm travelling solo this summer from Sicily to Bari and I'd like to take the hydrofoil from Bari to Durrės. I'm wondering how safe it is to travel by yourself on the hydrofoil/ferry.

Thanks,

Bari Getting from the port to the train station
Posted: Fri April 29, 2005 02:04 PM UTC
Hi Everyone!

I'm going to be passing through Bari briefly as I arrive on a ferry from Dubrovnik, and I need to head down to Brindisi to catch another ferry heading to Patras. Can anyone tell me if there is a local bus that runs between Bari's port and train station? I have the same question about Brindisi as well, as the Costa Morena port looks quite far away from the train station.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

K. :)
