Bari rental car dilemma
Posted: Mon April 7, 2008 10:46 PM UTC
We'll be docking at the cruise pier on Sunday, April 20th. We are desirous of renting a car to get to Alberbello and view the trulli edifices. So far, it appears that the downtown rental car offices are closed on Sunday. We are slated to dock at 10 am and must be back on board by 2:30. The airport is North of Bari and we need to go South. Can't imagine that we'd have time to go the opposite direction to get a car and then have to do the same thing upon return. Does anyone know of a place to rent a car on a Sunday other than at the airport? Or, is the frequent, reliable public transportation we could take to get to Albobello from the pier? Thanks for the hope.

Bari Options for Bari to Dubrovnik(Or elseware) in the March
Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 11:55 PM UTC
I am visiting Bari from March 11th to 18th(tickets already purchased) and did not do my research before choosing these dates. I had my heart set on visiting Dubrovnik for a few days, but have come to find that the only ferry that runs in the Winter only runs on Wednesdays, which makes this virtually impossible.

Are there any other options for travel to Dubrovnik that runs more often in March? Or are there any other cities across the Adriatic to visit where travel from Bari is more realistic in this time frame?

Any advice is much appreciated...Thanks!

Bari All About Bari
Posted: Fri November 9, 2007 04:29 AM UTC
Hi,

I will be spending 2 nights in Bari in February.

1) Do you know of any centrally located hostel / room that doesnt cost too much for one person?
2) What are the must-sees in Bari?
3) Are there any possible half-day trips out of Bari? I read about Matera, how far is that and how much would it cost?
4) There doesnt seem to be alot of information on the Internet about Bari, any good sites to recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Bari late night dining in Bari
Posted: Sun September 9, 2007 01:46 PM UTC
I am a single girl arriving in Bari on the 14th...I will not get to my hotel till about 10 30 pm...is there anywhere that I can get a late night pizza or more at this time ? It is my first visit to Italy in 15 years and I will be very dissapointed if I cannot eat on my first night !

I will also stay the next night and would like a recommendation for the best food in Bali (nothing touristy please) family trattoria with exceptional cooking !!
I am renting my car on the Sunday (hoping the traffic will be easier to negotiate) I am going down to Polignano a mare..does anyone know of a great Sunday lunch venue? Will I have to reserve?
I do speak Italian (or at least I did 15 years ago !!)..I have not booked my hotels yet iether...any recomendation for good B & Bs or 3 star hotels in Central Bari where I can walk to the historic center on saturday would be appreciated.. Is there a market on Saturdays?

Thankyou..mille grazie...

Bari Car Rentals near Bari Centrale Station
Posted: Fri July 13, 2007 04:13 PM UTC
We are planning to arrive in Bari via train and would like to rent a car. Does anyone know if there are nearby car rentals? For example, Avis' website lists the following locations in Bari, and I'm not sure if any are near the train station: Bari Amendola, or Via L Zuppetta, or Via Cardinale A. Ciasca. Or is it easier to go from the train to the airport and pick up a car there?

Bari Bari by day
Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 03:32 PM UTC
Hi guys, I'm planning on stopping over in Bari on my way from Dubrovnik to Corfu. The only thing is that my ferry from Croatia arrives in early morning, and the next ferry is not until 10pm, which means I have to hang around in Bari during the day. I'm really concerned about how safe Bari will be, or how I might occupy myself during the day (WITH LUGGAGE!) - are my fears unfounded???!?

Bari Visiting Bari
Posted: Thu February 22, 2007 12:57 PM UTC
I'm coming over to Bari for the Scotland game on the 28th of March with a few friends. Unfortunately we're only arriving on the morning of the match and may only spend one day in town. However I'm quite keen to arrange a game of football against some locals. We can get 5 or possibly 7 people together, and we're all between 30 and 35 so a little past our prime!

Would anyone be interested in having a mini Italy v Scotland game?

Cheers,

Andy

Ciao,

Andy

Bari How to go from Bari to Albergobello?
Posted: Thu September 7, 2006 11:37 PM UTC
Our cruise ship stops in Bari for just a few hours. Would it work to hire a driver to take us to Albergobello to see the conical houses there? What's the best way to find a reputable driver who can meet us at or near the pier? How long would the round trip drive to Albergobello require?
